Luisana Lopilato versus Briana Evigan

Luisana:
(30, 5’7, 115, 13:6 FCBA, VIXENS)

Briana:
(22, 5’5, 15:9 FCBA, Holloway Boxing)

BEFORE:
For our other VIX/Holloway fight of the evening, Luisana Lopilato taking on newly minted and signed fighter, Briana Evigan, and it’s certainly a big risk for the Vixen to be doing so, facing down a fit-as-hell fighter and someone currently on a five-fight winning streak. Briana knows that she’s the favourite to win tonight, and says as much during the pre-fight interview:

“Luisana’s always been a midtier competitor, so I don’t exactly see her as a threat, y’know? Me, on the other hand? I’ve taken down people like Michelle Keegan and Hayden Panettiere. Who has *she* fought? Allison Williams? Suffice it to say that I like my chances here tonight.”

Luisana’s chances in the ring are certainly shaky to say the least, in recent times falling to some top-tier competition. As always though, the Argentine putting on a brave smile when asked by reporters about her own assessment.

“Briana’s overstating herself. She’s fought some good girls, but she’s forgetting that her record isn’t that pristine either. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why I wanted her as my opponent tonight: our win/loss ratio’s about comparable. I guess there’s only one way to find out who’s the better woman.”

Girls stare down at the podium and though Luisana is a good two inches taller than her counterpart, Briana known in many circles for her excellent athleticism and stamina as a dancer. Of course, being eight years younger might also help the American tonight. Luisana in black bra and panties set, with white gloves, whilst Briana making us pink with envy from that bikini ensemble and red gloves on both hands, red-streaked hair tied back into a ponytail. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
Briana taking the fight to the blonde early, crowding her advance out with a bevy of jabs in her direction. She knows she has the strength and power here to inflict some damage, with Luisana having trouble lasting past the fifth round in her previous fights. But Lopilato also having done her homework, backing away from the attack and dealing with the jabs quite nicely on her guard, before occasionally slapping leather into Evigan’s face in reply. But Briana not to be denied for long, keeps on advancing with aggression, and Luisana taking her fair share of errant shots to the cheek, then some hooks landing into either side of her body. Round ends with girls kept apart - Luisana knowing that she managed to stem off a worse tide in this opening round but feeling disappointed that she didn’t manage to hold it off completely. Briana taking it by close call.

ROUND 2:
More aggression shown from the brunette, who assumes that Luisana’s tired of being chased around the ring and ready to eat her power proper. Not so... Luisana still calm, measured, responding to Briana’s footwork with faster feet of her own, evading most of the punches swung in her direction. Luisana counter-punching quite effectively, showing improvement in much of her skill ever since she took to the ring all those years ago. She’s planting leather into Briana’s face over and over in between her foe’s wild swings at her own. Briana suddenly realises she’s getting hurt, starts backing away and covering up. Slight bruising on her cheek showing signs of that very abuse, but this girl’s also made of sterner stuff. She’s punching slower at Luisana, but more deliberately, confounding her plans to take the round by a wipeout. Luisana panicking slightly when she gets backtracked one foot at a time towards the ropes, her defense getting more difficult when Briana fires off targeted left right left right combos at hef, some of which snag the blonde’s tummy and pushing her back into the ropes. But the bell rings before Briana can lunge in to finish this!

ROUND 3:
Things suddenly not looking too rosy for Luisana, who’s had to deal with the reserves of energy from the fit-and-fighting Briana Evigan. Luisana doing her best to evade more punches in the first two minutes, but from the outside spectator looking in, she’s way in over her head, letting Briana dictate the pace and the action for the majority of this round. Luisana punching back once in a while, snagging the chin, but not doing enough damage so as to stop Briana or give her pause. Instead, Evigan looking for that knockdown early in this fight, paying the blonde back with two-fold punches that land on her nose and lips, before content to snap punches into the belly once Luisana raises her guard. Last few seconds and Luisana is simply fighting to stay alive here. Briana charges all in, looking to put her away. Luisana bunching up along the ropes, bent over from an uppercut that cuts her body in half, but she’s still stubbornly holding her guard firmly over her face, preventing Briana’s big hooks from doing much damage either. Evigan slowing down visibly from the exertion these past three rounds, and by the time the bell rings, both girls are in each other’s arms and panting hard. We’ll be fools to say this round went Luisana’s way - not at all, in fact. But at least the Vixen is still standing!

ROUND 4:
Luisana still moving with some gusto (or is it mere caution?) whenever Briana gets in close enough to want to brawl, but to be fair as well, Evigan is moving MUCH slower now, that stamina only able to take her so far, and so long. Luisana spooked and slightly battered, not daring to come forward to take advantage of her opponent’s weakened position until the second half of the fight, but by then it’s kinda too late. Briana earning more points for herself from keeping up the constant jabbing, leaving Luisana to focus on defending and not punching back. However, by the last thirty seconds, Vixen corner bellowing at their girl to take advantage of the status of her opponent, and Luisana flies forward, eyes bright and eager for payback. Briana helplessly taking some powerful shots to the middle of her guard, her turn now to close up and hope to weather the onslaught of her fresher opponent. But like we mentioned, it’s too little, too late, with Luisana managing some swipes at those abs down below, before the bell rings and saves Briana from taking more abuse.

ROUND 5:
Briana eager to reclaim her dominance, coming out of her corner early and heading straight for the blonde, but gets pushed back when Luisana unexpectedly unleashes a straight cross to her head, forcing her to cover up. The impact grazes her lips and not to mention, the force of which shocking her momentarily. She lets out a grunt and stops the attack in her tracks, giving Luisana plenty of time to follow up with more whap whap whap of leather on leather, then helping herself to more servings of tummy down below, piercing shots sent in one after the other. Briana getting hurt, with little choice but to clinch up or get forced back into the ropes. Doing the former is to her advantage, however, as she’s able to control the older, leaner woman in close quarters. Luisana seething, still wanting that knockdown for herself, but content with digging punches into Briana’s side and head. Referee separates them after a moment, but by then, there’s little time left on the clock for either woman to bounce back. Some good stalling strategy there from Briana, but she still needs to recover her breath and take the fight back to her foe.

ROUND 6:
Seems like she’s recovered enough to try another all-out assault! Briana shooting in hard and fast, looking to overwhelm Luisana like she did in the first two rounds with sheer volume of punches. Luisana however staying her ground, hoping to brawl toe-to-toe with her this time? Are you sure that’s a good idea, woman?? Flurry of punches exchanged and girls barely missing their targets, with their faces in such close quarters! Luisana keeping her hands in close and delivering straight snap shots into the chin, angering Briana further. Evigan growling and swings for the fences, powerful hooks incoming and looking to take Luisana’s head off! But the blonde DUCKS under once, twice, each time just sacking the at the jawline with consecutive uppercuts! THIRD TIME and Briana looks GROGGY, reeling backwards and in danger of tilting over hard! Luisana jumping in, swiping the head left, then right, before a FINAL swish to the other side sends Evigan off her feet and DOWN TO THE CANVAS! It’s a KNOCKDOWN for Luisana Lopilato!

The blonde heaving hard as she stands over Briana’s unmoving body, the only signs of life that of breathing in and out into puddles of spittle on the ground! Referee starts the count, but it’s a forlorn conclusion! Briana knocked out cold from that brutal combination! It’s over!

Official Decision: Luisana Lopilato defeats Briana Evigan via KO6!

AFTER:
Part of the audience is audibly, visibly shocked by this outcome, with Luisana managing to defeat such a named and dangerous fighter! Luisana all smiles, immediately rushing over to her corner to be congratulated by her staff and stablemates, whereas Briana getting checked on by medics in her own, visible disappointment on her face once she’s regained consciousness, realised that she’s lost this time.

It’s a big win for one these fighters, with both of them.having played a dangerous game of cat and mouse these last six rounds. Let’s hope that they continue to find their place in this division!
