Before: “I am really excited to be fighting a big international celebrity like Emilia Clarke,” Danielle Campbell excitedly tells the pre-fight press. “I have a good record but I don’t think enough people know me. Taking on and beating someone with Emilia’s celebrity status will definitely give me a boost. It was a bummer losing my last fight to that nasty Lily Collins bytch, but at least Emilia Clarke shows some signs of being a decent person as well as a decent fighter.”

Emilia Clarke eyes DC with some curiosity, Danielle is wearing one of her trademark DC Comics t-shirts. This one features WONDER WOMAN.

“I can see why they call you ‘DC’ Ms. Campbell. The comic book tie-in is very clever. Too bad you are not quite the right size for that part,” Emilia observes.

“No, but maybe they’ll cast ‘Wonder Girl’ some day and think of me. You’re shorter than me and I haven’t even had the chance to pretend to fly on a dragon,” Danielle says cheerfully.

“Oh, you never can tell when your chance will come,” Emilia said. “I have to say that beating you would certainly improve my status in the FCBA.”

“Sure it would. I’m a top contender. You beat me and its bound to help you rise—but I have to tell you, losing to Lily Collins has me turned off on losing fights. I am not going to lose any more than I have to and that will include losing to you. I’m going to be out to win,” DC explains.

“I have no interest in losing either and I have a great to gain in winning. I assure you. Ms. Campbell, you are in for one, very hard fight,” Emilia.

“Cool,” DC said cheerfully. “See you there!”

Fight night finds Danielle Campbell entering the ring with PLP trainer Nia Peeples. She is in a black bikini with black boots and gloves (white laces). Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail with a white bow. Emilia Clarke has selected a black one piece swimsuit with red gloves and boots (black laces). Her brunette hair has been braided and then circled in an elegant crown on top of her head. Both fighters smiling and looking eager to get this going. Ring instructions are smoothly given and accepted, Gloves tapped and then the fighters are in heir corners. The bell rings…

R1: Emilia and Danielle are out of their corners with a smooth swiftness and move to mid-ring where the leather starts to fly. Both fighters are circling and firing away punches as they search for early advantage, Emilia bobbing and weaving particularly well, causing DC to miss or fail to lsnd her punches with power, At same time, Emilia striking hard at Danielle’s jawline with repeated clips. DC trying to ignore the blows to her head as she works Emilia to the body and is landing punches more effectively late in the round. Emilia ups the pressure late, getting in close and hammering DC to the breasts and ribcage. DC fighting back with body punching counters, but Emilia gets her to the belly at the end with hooks that send the PLP fighter reeling back. Bell rings and referee steps in to make sure the fighters heard it. Close round but Emilis Clarke emerges the winner.

R2: DC and Emilia plunge right back into the toe to toe action as the new round gets going. Both working the belly, ribs and breasts, Both pushing forward using their feet as leverage to add power to the punches. Danielle then drops back a step or two. Emilia lunges forward, but it’s a fake retreat as Dani is then able to bring a solid right uppercut in behind Emilia’s extended gloves to smack her hard to the chin. Emilia shudders as her head is snapped back and DC stuffs a couple of hooks to the belly to send the LAB fighter scuttling backwards. Emilia under pressure, fights back hard with the jab and swivels DC’s head with a right to the cheekbone. DC recoils, but stabilizes quickly and trades more in-close body banging to bell. Again referee has to intervene to stop the action in another close round, but this time Danielle Campbell is awarded the stanza.

R3: Emilia Clarke strikes first as the new round gets going. Danielle Campbell is coming in, apparently thinking to resume the close-in battle. Emilia proves to have other ideas as she catches DC on the chin with a devastating right uppercut that sends Dani reeling back. Emilia swats her with rights and lefts to the jaw. DC desperately firing the jab, but Emilia is pounding her to the face, DC finally has to cover her face with her gloves. This allows Emilia to go after Danielle’s inviting body with a thorough thrashing on her torso from breasts to belly and back again. DC all hunched up from the belly attack, still trying to protect her battered face, and trying to fling out some counters to avoid being swept this round. Emilia working to get DC onto the ropes, but Danielle uses her still strong legs to keep moving around the mid ring. However, Emilia stays with the pressure to the bell and wins the round easily.

R4: Danielle getting talked to by coach Nia Peeples. Can’t suite here the words, but judging by DC’s actions once the bell rings they must have been: “Take the offensive!” DC goes right to Emilia’s midsection with deep, digging hooks that double Em up and has her up on her toes at times. DC just churning away to the belly as Emilia’s legs start trembling and she tries to move back. Danielle able to move with her retreating opponent and she raises her sights to hammer Emilia in the ribs and breasts. Emilia trying to jab Dani back, but DC ignoring the counters to keep on the pressure. Towards the end of the round, Dani spots a gap in Emilia’s high guard and swats her hard to the chin with the ol’ One-Two. Emilia stumbling backwards, bangs into the ropes and holds on to keep from going down. Time runs out before Dani can get at Emilia again, but she walks away looking very pleased with herself. Emilia slow to leave the ropes and slow getting back to her corner.

R5: Lookout corner working hard to get Emilia back out for the new round. Em is a a bit slow and clearly cautious, uncertain of where Danielle will strike. DC does her best to keep Emilia confused as she circles, reverses and makes feints before striking unexpectedly from some new direction. Emilia seems to be trying to anticipate Danielle’s next move, but this is causing her to become steadily more confused. Then DC makes her move with a concentrated attack to the belly and she is driving Emilia back into the ropes. Emilia struggling to get away and in the effort she leaves an opening. POW! Crashing right to the jaw from Danielle spins Emilia round and into the ropes, Dani spins her around and unleashes another right! DOWN GOES EMILIA! Emilia crashing onto her right side, stretched out along the ropes and struggling to rise. DC has headed for the neutral corner. Referee moves in and starts to count. Emilia using the ropes to pull herself up onto her knees and then she slowly climbs the strands to become fully erect. The count has reached “EIGHT!” Referee looks doubtful about Emilia, who is leaning against the ropes, but the moment she realizes he might end this, she grows fierce and DEMANDS the fight continue. Referee seems to quail before this “Mother of Dragons” moment and waves Danielle back in.

DC more than happy to oblige and she comes in hammering Emilia back into the ropes. Emilia trying to slide her way along the ropes, but Danielle is on her, knocking aside Em’s gloves to start smashing her head from side to side with lefts and rights. Emilia is somehow moving along the ropes, but she is not fighting back. Alarmed ringsiders are shouting at the referee to stop the carnage! AND THE REF JUMPS IN! Official cradles the limp, badly battered Emilia to safety as Danielle wearily raises one arm in victory.

THE WINNER: DANIELLE CAMPBELL DEFEATS EMILIA CLARKE TKO5!

After: Ashley Benson and Sasha Pieterse on hand to congratulate their teammate on the victory. DC walks the ring, waving to fans and accepting their applause. She stops by the Lookout corner to check on the revived Emilia Clarke. The two share a hug. Emilia assisted from the ring as Danielle speaks a bit to the press.

“I am glad the referee stopped the fight when he did. I certainly didn’t want to seriously hurt her. She was a tough opponent, but I was able to get her confused enough in R4 to hurt her and that set up my finishing her in the 5th. I feel really great and I can’t wait for my next fight. My plan now is work for a title shot in 2019 and this time win the belt!”

Emilia Clarke speaks briefly to the press outside the Lookout locker room as she is leaving. Her face she showing quite a bit of swollen bruising and she is wearing dark glasses.

“I apologize to my fans for this disappointing effort. I know I can do better than that and I most certainly intend to do so, Ms. Campbell was a clever opponent, but I was hurting her at times. I let her turn the tables and that cost me the fight. I consider this fight a lesson learned. Now thank you and good night.”

Lively flyweight contest while it lasted. Emilia Clarke did seem to have her moments tonight, but Danielle Campbell had more of them and won the fight with a stoppage. Good win for DC after her setback against Lily Collins. As Emilia said herself, this loss was a disappointment, She says she has learned from it, but we will have to see about that. The next fight for both of these fighters should prove most interesting and should give flyweight fans angles to look forward to.
