Ashley Greene versus Lea Seydoux

(Words: O & E / Results: Lookout!)

Before: Opportunistic Lea looking to carve up Ashley after the latter’s disheartening year of losses. “Two different kinds of boxers,” says one pundit, contrasting Seydoux with Greene. “Lea is more in the Claire Danes mold--Ashley’s more conventional, good jab, good straight right hand. Bitter, mouth on shoulder, tidy swapping contests in the trenches, very competitive-looking, yet each and every clash goes by a razor’s edge to Lea.

R5: Jamming one-two hammers through Lea’s defense, jerking her head back: Ashley eases in off the scoring blows to snatch her hook against corbeille a pain. Seydoux groaning, unable to hold canvas as Greene shoulders her off, legs shaking, suddenly no longer stubborn. Midway point - Ashley digging robust right hands up into Lea's tender ribs, blonde groans, hugging herself, doubling over, pulling away ashen faced. Greene bulls in: arms underneath as Seydoux is bodied sideways to ropes. Leaning atop Lea, Ashley chugs away underneath, working frantically to stuff in leather. Seydoux pushes her way clear - staggers away; Greene bulls in again, legs pumping to drive the blonde back onto the ropes. More stuffing work underneath as doubled-over French girl shudders, her right side/hip in ropes as Ashley feverishly digs in through the left flank. SEYDOUX GOES DOWN! Greene backing away as Lea sits back on haunches, hugging throbbing ribs. Seydoux's up at 10, but ref waves it off: that's a thumping KO5 as Ashley ends a year-long drought!

After: Ashley turns back the clock, devastating a tough, very sturdy blonde with great no-holds-barred give&take. "Seeing her go out was a thrill," Greene admits in postfight, her own face tender and puffy from Seydoux's heartless chops. "You know, after this last year, a lot of people thought that I couldn't hang and bang in the pocket, but that's just not true. Lea’s every bit as good as those girls who beat me, and I picked her apart tonight!"
