Eiza Gonzalez vs. Blake Lively

BEFORE:

Battle of leggy blonde and brunette gets plenty chippy in the prefight, with neither beauty showing much respect for the other. "Blake," says Eiza with a shake of the head, "Is overrated. After all, she's a below .500 fighter!"

"Eiza," says a hard-eyed Blake, "Is just jealous, because I have one thing she'll never have, a Unified Lightweight Championship."

ROUND ONE:

Ladies get their box on early. No surprise. Both blonde and brunette move well and both have plenty of length. So, why not set up at range, so that you can extend on your punches? And, that's what the fighters do. And, while they do so on even terms for a bit, quite quickly, it's Eiza who begins getting the better of things. Brunette finding the range, getting the jab on, dropping in rights behind it, tossing the blonde to the defensive here and there at first, then constantly. Last half of the round sees Lively almost completely preempted, covering up as Gonzalez throws volley after volley of suppressive fire at her. Lively backed up and touched up right to the bell of what turns out to be quite the rout. Brunette bounces back to her corner all smiles, having gotten about as good a start as she could have hoped for, claiming the first wide and grabbing the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Back to ranged warfare, and Eiza taking the fight aggressively to Blake. Blonde again on the defensive, covering up, countering in spots, but taking the worst of things...BOOM! Straight right from Lively and EIZA IS HURT! And Blake switches over to the offensive, reefing hard shot at the wobbly brunette, backing her up with flurries of accurate leather. Gonzalez quickly borne to the ropes and things get worse from there, as the former champion gives the brunette beauty a thorough thumping, working both head and body as Gonzalez hangs on in a high guard. Referee on high alert as Blake piles up the points, repeatedly landing power shots that snap back Eiza's head. But, Gonzalez does enough to keep him at bay, jabbing back here and there, blocking and rolling with as much as possible. At the bell, the brunette's still standing, but the blonde's evened things at 19 taking the points wide.

ROUND THREE:

Lively romping. She's got the brunette beauty in trouble and she's keeping her there, not giving Gonzalez a chance to breathe let alone recover. Instead, Blake ups the work rate, sits down on everything, keeps the hard shot coming. Eiza not able to get much offense going, but she's playing solid defense, giving ground, staying off the ropes, picking off punches, slipping others, making the blonde's job as difficult as possible. But, Blake just keeps working and working Eiza over. It's not just points she's piling up, but HURT. Gonzalez never wobbled, but she's taking plenty of PUNISHMENT, and that's starting to become evident on her lovely face, which is beginning to puff up as the round goes on. Final seconds see a sustained exchange, as the brunette's apparently gotten the legs back under her, but, it's too little, too late. At the bell, it's Lively wide and Blake's up 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Lively keeps pressing, but now Eiza's able to hold her own. Brunette giving as good as she gets as firefights develop one after the other in the early part of the round. Lively, hearing it from the corner, eventually backs the aggression down. Doesn't want to give the brunette a chance to turn things around with one punch. Instead, she gets back to boxing, but, now, it's the blonde who's fighting lead. She's getting the jab on, building combinations off it. Eiza working mostly in the counter. But, doing so effectively. She's finding openings and filling them with solid leather. Result is that the last two minutes of the round see the first good, two-way boxing of the fight, with both fighters having their moments, and both scoring enough points to stay in the round. But, competitive as it is, at the bell, for the third consecutive round, it's Blake who gets the points and extends her lead to 39-37.

ROUND FIVE:

Leggy beauties go back to range. Settle into boxing again. And, just like in the first round, it's the brunette who quickly begins to get the better of things. Eiza just a littttllleee quicker to get off, and that makes all the difference. She's getting leather on, tossing the blonde onto the defensive, preempting her offense, regaining control of the proceedings. Blonde keeps trying to get something going, but, she's mostly being suppressed again, landing a good shot here and there, while Eiza's landing punches and bunches and pulling away on the cards. Final minute sees Lively again being backed up as the brunette has everything rolling. This is impressive stuff from Gonzalez. She's soundly out-boxing a former Unified Lightweight Champion and showing all and sundry just how much talent she has in that long and lovely body. At the bell, it's Eiza wide, and it's a one-point fight at the half, with Blake up 48-47.

ROUND SIX:

Eiza continuing that boxing roll now. She's getting off first time after time, tossing Blake to the defensive, frustrating the blonde, who can't seem to get out of "neutral". Again, Lively spending waaaay too much time covering up and waiting her turn. But, the turn rarely comes. Oh, she lands a sharp counter here and there, but she's unable to put punches together, unable to get off the defensive, and, eventually, unable to get off the back foot. For the brunette's part, she works hard to keep her rival on that back foot, tossing flurry after flurry at her. And, it's not just leather, it's accurate leather, and, at times, hard leather. Lively's never hurt, but she's getting touched up in a big way. Gonzalez is in full control from the first seconds of the round to the final bell. And, when that bell rings, Eiza's claimed another round wide and evened the score at 57.

ROUND SEVEN:

Eiza back to work, but Blake's changing things up now. She's not going to stay outside where the brunette's getting the better of things. Instead, she's working forward behind the left jab, stepping to, forcing Gonzalez to give ground to get the distance she wants. Lively showing excellent footwork, angling, getting to middle distances, then landing hard shot. Now, it's Eiza on the defensive, backing and covering, looking for a way to get some space. But, Blake won't let her have it. Blonde taking fight to brunette, sitting down on punches. BOOM! DOWN GOES EIZA! A straight right hand lands clean and Gonzalez is blown to her back! Blake quickly to a neutral corner as the referee begins the count. Eiza staring up at him as the numbers get larger. Brunette rolls to her belly at six, but can do no more. The count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO7 is Blake Lively!

AFTER:

"Who's overrated now," sneers Blake in the post-fight. "This was just a matter of my picking my spot. I carried her a few rounds so I could get a workout, and, when I had my minutes in, I took her out of there. Yeah, she was just a stay-busy for me. And, that's all she'll EVER be."
