Yvonne Strahovski versus Katherine Heigl(Words & Results: Lookout!)

Before: Tonight, the tension coming into the fight is clear. Yvonne is on a losing streak that is intolerable by her standards, especially given the fact that her biggest rival is on top of the lightweight division of the moment. Katherine has not been on a successful run of her own, but feels she could punch her way back into relevance if not contention with a win over one of the best pound for pound fighters in the FCBA.

“That simply isn’t going to happen…” Yvonne states with a grin, “I’ve had a pretty rough stretch where I’ve lost to some of the best in the division. But, even on my worst day, I’m better than Katherine. She is big, she is physical and I can see where she might think she can bully me around. But, I’m not going to lose to Heigl. If she thinks she’s going to take advantage of me right now, she picked the wrong time and the wrong girl!.”

Katherine Heigl smiles, “Strahovski is shot right now. She’s on a losing streak and I’m going to add to it. Eventually, the wheels just fall off for a fighter. No rhyme, no reason, but they just don’t have the body or heart to compete at the top level. Right now, that’s Yvonne. I may not be the best in the FCBA and that’s clear by my record, but I could be and tonight could be the start of that. Tonight, I’m going to announce I’m back.”

Katherine comes in wearing a black string bikini with matching gloves - hair in a fighting ponytail; Yvonne in a baby blue halter top bikini and matching gloves - hair in a fighting ponytail. Fighters respectfully touch gloves and the bell rings...

R1: Feeling out round as the girls rotate clockwise, both with right hands tight to the cheek, chins tucked smartly behind left shoulders as they hook off the jab, pivot left off the hook. Defense paramount - both girls adept at deflecting punches with a shoulder or right glove. Heigl the snappier puncher, getting good spank out of Yvonne's body with the hook, backing Strahovski up towards the end of the round to nab the points.

R2: Heigl getting back into Yvonne's toned midriff - Heigl with that nice step inside the blonde's jab, crouch, and pumping hook to the breadbasket - Yvonne has to surrender territory or risk sustained punishment. Heigl hounding Strahovski to the ropes, keeps her there with a pawing jab, starts to bang at either flank with swiping blows - Strahovski closing up her stance, rolling with punches, maybe being too selective as Katherine does all the pitching. Final minute, Yvonne just touching Heigl in the stomach with a lazy backhand left off the hip, leaning back into the ropes, bending at the waist to slip Heigl’s right hands and ROCKETING BACK with a screened right hand and HEIGL IS DOWN! Katherine caught cold as Yvonne turns into the counter right off the ropes - blonde sprawled to her back - she gets her head and shoulders off the mat, face twisted in groggy pain and SHE CAN'T BEAT THE COUNT! KO2 Yvonne Strahovski!

AFTER: Yvonne just walking out of the ring before the verdict is even announced - pumping one fist into the air - knowing in her heart when she connected that Heigl wouldn’t be getting up from that one. Not even bothering to towel off as she chuckles, “Why would I? I didn’t even break a sweat…”, smirking as she looks over at a dazed Heigl still trying to sit up in the ring, “Kathy might be big and bad, but I just blew her world down. Contrary to what any of these other little girls might tell you, I’m one of the best pound for pound fighters in the FCBA and hopefully this will start reminding anybody who has started to forget. Don’t freaking forget.” as she smiles and struts off a winner here tonight.
