Before: After Chimera bought the stable previously known as Ginny's Academy, Jen Lawrence moved into the welter ranks full time and established herself as a threat at the weight. Still, some so-called experts question her readiness to handle someone like of Kate "The Queen" Upton. Jen's wins over Krsmanovic and Rhoda were impressive enough to get her this title fight, but her losses to Samantha Hoopes, Camille Kostek and Amanda Righetti raised questions of a vulnerability to right hand power punchers... like Upton!
Jen's trainer, Ronda Rousey, had Lawrence spar with Alice Goodwin, Stephanie McMahon and Jeri Ryan, all three trying with various success to mimic Upton's style. Rousey herself even took a hand once or twice, using her MMA experience to work on Jen's 'close quarters combat' technique - something she'll need against a champion who isn't bashful about brawling or using her JMD/D's whenever she needs to gain an edge in a close fight.
Challenger Lawrence introduced first along with her personal trainer, Ronda Rousey. They're joined by Chimera's Head Trainer Jeri Ryan and the famed Upton annoyer-in-chief, Alice Goodwin. Goodwin's presence is likely some kind of ploy to get in Kate's head before, or perhaps during, the fight. J-Law's wearing a light blue bikini with a silver sheen, blue gloves and her honey-blond hair done in a French braid. Like her mentor, Charlize Theron, Jen fights in bare feet, saying she has more sure footing that way.
The Champion Kate "The Queen" Upton, is flanked by her trainers Julie Benz and and Elisha Cuthbert, trailed by her stable's Communications Director Michelle Trachtenberg and surrounded and hounded by media, pressing microphones at her demanding a prediction while the paparazzi blind everyone within 100 yards with video lights and camera flashes. Upton's never been overly modest about her pulchritude and just because she's in a ring fighting is no reason to hide her "headlights" under a basket. Kate's "girls" are front and center, the featured attraction of her traditional bright, sparking white bikini. White gloves and shoes add a brightness to her aura that even a black scrunchie on her blond hair can't subdue as it secures her golden locks back off her cherubic face.
There's neither the need, nor enough space, to extol all of Upton's exploits since she joined the FCBA. One look at her record (above) tells you all you need to know...except that among Upton's wins and losses are JMD/D fights where her won-loss record is as outstanding as her physique (15-4). If one were inclined to remove those from her overall record, Kate's record in "standard" boxing would still be 38-14-0 compared to Lawrence's 24-14 after her JMD/D record of 3-4 is removed. Fortunately for Jen, this will NOT be JMD/D bout which is good. Tess Valmore will be ringside.
Upton takes the golden belt from around her waist that signifies her status as the FCBA Welterweight Champion and hands it to the referee who holds it up to show the crowd what's at stake tonight.

During Rd1: Lawrence off her stool quickly, showing confidence in both her newly taut physique and Rousey's training sparring with Upton-esque opponents. Lawrence circling to her right away from Upton's right hand power. Jen using her own right with devastating effect in the opening minute, buckling Kate's knees twice. Each time, Upton clinches to smother J-Law's follow-up. Jen being put to the test early as Upton forces her to grapple with Lawrence's back on the ropes; the referee unable to pry them apart and getting dirty looks from whichever woman's boobs are being pressed by his "stinking paws" (the damned dirty ape!) #Planet of the Apes.
Jen Lawrence fights her way off the ropes, scuffing up Kate's face in the process with a couple of firm left hooks that get the buxom blondes attention. Upton answers with right hands, one lands flush, the second sails wide after J-Law goes low to drill another left into Kate's rightside ribs! Upton grunts on impact, making Jen smile as she slips an Upton left hook and circles away to her right again.
When Lawrence stands to exchange with Upton, Kate is able to land with power, but as long as Jen keeps on the move, her hit-and-run tactics are working for her. Upton the slower footed fighter, preferring to set her feet to launch those killing power shots that have KOed 98% of her victims.
Jen's respecting Upton's power, but she's not shy about closing to tattoo Kate's body - which critics say could be her only vulnerability. Upton appearing to labor in the final minute after Lawrence again lands a hard left hook body - right cross head combo that staggers the busty model. J-Law wins the first round on points wide as Upton had trouble getting started and Jen took advantage with a steady offense combined with solid defense. Some swelling above Upton's left eye the only mark on either woman.
Rd2: J-Law storming out of her corner to build on her solid first round, runs into a storm of leather by the champ who didn't like being upstaged. Upton rampages thru the first two minutes, behind a series of right hands setting up a less famous-but-still-devastating left hook! Kate pushing Jen back onto the ropes where she again uses her bulk and her prodigious prow to overwhelm the shorter, woman.
Jen doggedly working Upton's oft-suspect body, hoping to wear her down over time. Both head-hunt at times, each landing often enough to make it worthwhile but it's not decisive...yet. Lawrence weathers the storm thanks to her sturdy physique and some nifty footwork that, at times, left Kate flailing at empty air as Jen dances away to set herself up to counter. J-Law uses combinations to good effect while Upton depends, as she often does when facing a frustrating opponent, on single huge power punches she hopes can put down their resistance.
So far, Upton's doing enough to make it a promising proposition for her as she's able to break thru Lawrence's defenses to reach her head more often this round. At the bell, Jen's nose bleeding as Kate's powerful rights have scored and starting to add up. Second round to Upton wide. In the Chimera corner they're working to staunch J-Law's nose bleed as Upton's again getting ice on her left eye.
Rd3: Each fighter felt the other's power and neither has established anything like early dominance; in fact, both have been forced to make adjustments in their original strategy with Upton trying to move more while Lawrence has nearly abandoned left hooks to the body and is head-hunting more often than in the first. J-Law's scoring with her hook and when she uses in in combination with the right, she's giving Upton more than enough problems; so much so that Upton's spending more energy defending than on offense.
Lawrence taking advantage of Upton's defensive stance to throw more right hands and several times Kate's been rocked. Late in the round, Jen shifts her focus to Kate's body again, driving the champ back to the ropes and - for the first time - Upton's being made to fight off the ropes and looks uncomfortable doing it. Lawrence forcing Upton back into the corner with two big right hands and at the bell, it's J-Law bodying up on Upton, chugging three punches into the champion's paunch at the bell.
J-Law wins the third on points (wide) and in Lookout corner they have to deal with Upton's bleeding lower lip and again iced her eye. In Chimera's, Lawrence's nose is bloody, but controllable.
Rd4: Upton gets a firm talking-to in her corner between rounds and it has an immediate effect as she comes out fired up for the fourth; attacking Lawrence with a vengeance to re-start her nose bleeding. J-Law targeting Upton's left eye which is starting to swell, endangering her vision. When hurt, both fighters instinct is to strike back and hurt her opponent even more! They trade punches mindlessly for the first minute, each determined to break the others will and it's Upton who finally gains the upper hand as she uses her big body to pin Lawrence against the ropes then slam away with both fists, doubling Jen over with a series of smashing blows to her midsection, then a couple of huge uppercuts that buckle her knees!
As Jen swoons into Kate's arms breathless and dazed, Upton wraps her up in a bearhug and stacks her in the Chimera corner right above Rousey and Ryan. Putting her palm on Lawrence's chest, Kate draws back her right fist and as she's about to plunge it into Jen's belly again, Alice Goodwin springs out of her ringside seat and screams, "Hey Tits! How'd you like to have a pair like this?"
Unable to resist glancing at her, Kate sees Alice has pulled open her blouse to expose her bare breasts... well, they're NOT exactly bare! Across Alice's breasts is written in black ink, Upton slept here! Upton's face turns bright red as she stares at Goodwin's chest in disbelief. Then she shakes herself and draws back to punch again, but Lawrence has recovered and pushes Kate back, then hits her in the side of the head with a left hook. Upton isn't hurt as much as surprised, but it gives Jen time to slither out of the corner and escape to mid-ring. There, she buys time to get her breath and clear her head while Kate hurls invective at a grinning Alice Goodwin.
Jen has escaped almost certain destruction while Upton stared down the smirking Goodwin as she buttoned up and sat back down next to Tess Valmore - who was blushing nearly as red as Kate! Upton re-focusing, back on the attack, although Lawrence puts up stubborn resistance as she's driven back step-by-step, into the opposite corner where Upton again bellies up to the smaller blonde, putting the weight of her JMDD's on Jen as she hammers her with both fists to the bell while Lawrence hangs on grimly! Kate wins the round on points (wide) and she's opened a cut over J-Law's left eye that requires the attention of Chimera's omnipresent Nurse Sunny. In Lookout's corner, they're worried about Kate's eye as well. Both blond battlers showing the wear-and-tear of a pier 6 brawl after four!
Rd5: Back-and-forth brawling continues in the fifth as Jen Lawrence launches off her stool to meet Kate on Lookout's side of center ring! Jen's lead right to the head stuns Upton in the opening seconds, sending the zoftig blonde reeling back on her heels. J-Law stepping with her, hammers Kate with a left hook twixt the eyes that keeps her reeling backward in disarray! DOWN GOES UPTON! Kate dropped on her butt at the ropes by that delayed-action Lawrence left! Upton sitting up, leaning back staring up at Jen, blood running from her nose and dripping from her chin into the deep canyon of her bosom.
The champion struggles to her feet just in time to beat the count, and after Kate assures the referee she's alright, Lawrence is right back on her, bodying up with Kate, leaning on her, bending Kate back over the top rope as she drills hard lefts and rights to the body, working Upton's soft middle in hopes of taking the sting out of the champs punches later! Kate's gloves up cupping Jen's head, elbows tucked in as she leans her bulk on Lawrence, breasts mushrooming sideways between their tightly pressed, heaving, chests as they squirm and wriggle against one another; each digging little inside body shots when they're not holding. Referee fighting to part them, but it's hard with both wanting that intimate body-on-body contact.
Finally separated, Lawrence quickly circles right, chopping the right down over Kate's pawing left. Upton trying to use her open left hand to block Lawrence's right, not ashamed to grab her bicep, elbow, or wrist whenever possible, then drag her into a clinch where they each score to the other's body. At close range, Upton able to plunder Lawrence's body - her elbows prove specially painful as she's not shy about spearing Lawrence's "ladies" every time she can pull Jen in to clinch belly-to-belly.
Jen Lawrence desperately wrestling herself out of Kate's clutches, throwing combinations on the move and scoring with them. As the round winds down, Kate Upton's nose is bleeding badly and might well have been broken. Kate's left eye swelling and she's blinking and touching it often. Lawrence's ribs, stomach and upper body all rubbed red and raw by Upton's fists in the clinches - as is Upton's belly where Lawrence has targeted most of her body shots...ignoring the two most obvious targets that everyone else usually can't bring themselves to ignore. J-Law's early knockdown and her continued battering of Upton's body, (and a broken nose?) give her the 5th by a wide margin.
Rd6: Both corners busy between rounds, Lookout, even as the ring doctor checks her nose, already busy on Kate's left eye. Once the MD gives her the OK to continue, the nose is packed, the eye iced and she gets a slap on the back as she stands. Chimera's seconds no less busy, Jeri Ryan with her usual icy compress inside Jen's top cooling her overheated breasts while Rousey and Nurse Sunny check the rest of her. Lawrence too standing for the bell and both women come out quickly and clash center ring! They both score with right uppercut-left hook combinations in the opening minute; both do damage; both forced to clinch. Lawrence still fighting tactically, moving her feet and circling to her right behind her own right - her most effective weapon against Upton's compromised left eye!
Upton's struggled to land her right hand with Lawrence circling away from it, but her left hook has been - at times - devastating and it scores again near the midway point of the round. After Jen rocks Kate again with another overhand right to the head, Upton steps back and when J-Law comes in, Upton counters with a short inside left hook that buckles Lawrence's knees. This time, it's Jen who is forced to clinch and Upton makes her pay the price with yet another elbow to crush Jen's left breast flat as Kate's right comes up short of Jen's chin, but Upton's forward momentum carries her into Jen and her elbow is buried in Lawrence's bosom.
Eyes tearing, Jen angrily throws a volley of punches - most of which miss or land harmlessly on Kate's shoulders, elbows or forearms, but one sneaks past the champions defenses. A straight right hand of Jen's connects flush on Upton's jaw, unhinging her knees. It appeared Kate would have gone down except she was against the ropes and instead, she sat on the middle rope; her gloves at her cheeks. The referee let the fight continue and Lawrence was able to pound Upton's body with several more punches before the bell. The referee jumped in to put a stop to it before any more damage was done. Scorekeepers had a hard time with this back-and-forth round; both fighters hurt at least once, but in the end, they went with Upton (close).
Rd7: Lookout again working hurriedly on repairs to their fighter wanting her ready for the seventh, but this time Upton's still on her stool at the bell rather than standing before. Lawrence, sensing weakness, all in with a furious early attack that catches Kate flat-footed. Lawrence driving Upton's butt back to... then stuffing it in... the ropes! Lawrence's head up under Kate's chin, forcing her head back; her hands at her ears and Jen's swinging her fists up and over, blindly smashing at Upton's head with both hands. Kate's massive bosom pushed up, billows out around Jen's chin in her cleavage. Kate can't hit Jen's jaw without muffling the power of her punch with her own legendary pulchritude! Jen's feet planted wide, pushing herself onto Upton, keeping her pinned to the ropes. One hand smacking Kate's head, the other hand chug-chug-chugging into Kate's middle, making her flesh jiggle on both sides of Kate's arched-up-and-bent-back body. Jen changes hands frequently, so that whatever hand Kate uses to protect her head leaves that side of her body exposed. And Upton's belly is taking a beating; she's gotta get her butt off those ropes!
Upton reaches up with her left hand and pulls Jen's right shoulder down, then with her right hand pushes up under Jen's left shoulder, turning her slightly...enough that Upton can slide her head down alongside Jen right cheek. They trade body shots fighting cheek-to-cheek, then Lawrence uses a big left uppercut as she leans back, exposing Kate's chin briefly...just long enough! CRACK!
Kate's head snaps back and her legs buckle and she drops straight down on her butt, her bosom bouncing wildly and for a moment it looks like it might jump right out of her bikini top. Lawrence takes one look at Upton and knows she's finished! She raises her arms and turns to strut around the ring to her corner where she'll ditch her gloves and then return to gloat over Upton. But when she reaches her corner, Rousey is frantically pointing across the ring behind Jen and when she turns, she sees Upton is on one knee and the referee is still counting! Upton rises, swaying unsteadily, but puts her hands up and nods to the referee who hesitates to end a champion's reign with her on her feet, and waves for Jen to return to resume the fight.
Lawrence jogs across the ring and tees off on Kate who is in total protect mode at the moment, crouching with her gloves at her head peek-a-boo style, her elbows in to shield her middle as she crabs sideways along the ropes, using them not only as support, but so that Lawrence can't circle around her or force her to move her feet until her head stops the buzzing she's been hearing since she got up. Jen eager to strap on her title belt, whistling punches non-stop at Kate's head, batting and swatting it from side to side, but not doing enough damage to put the sturdy blonde champion back on her butt.
Jen forces herself to slow down, to take her time. There must still be a lot of time left since it was early in the round when she dropped Upton. Jen goes back to what worked before, combinations featuring her left hook and, again, it hurts the champ. Upton rocked by a left to her right temple, stumbling to her left along the ropes to the Lookout corner. Lawrence quick-steps to cut the corner, trapping Upton with her back to the turnbuckles and again, Jen bodies up to the busty blonde, chin tucked into her left shoulder, her left forearm across Kate's chest pushing down on her bulging bosom; Jen bringing the right hand back and then SLAMMING it into Upton's belly once, twice...three times! Each thudding impact is accompanied by a bleating grunt from the buxom blond champion... music to Jen's ears!
Every fourth or fifth punch, Jen windmills her right up and over Kate's left arm - draped around Jen's shoulder pulling her head forward - and slams her glove into Kate's face, targeting her nearly swollen closed left eye!!
Kate's only punching twice for every four or five of Jen's and from Lookout's corner can be heard the tense cries from her trainer, "Get out of the corner! Move Katie!" But Upton's legs refuse to move and she just huddles in the corner, crouching lower each time Jen's right comes sweeping over and drops down on her head again. "MOVE DAMMIT! Finally, Kate raises her right hand up between her and Jen. She closes her fist on Jen's left breast and squeezes just as hard as she can as she pushes Jen back. Kate can hear Lawrence sob when she grabs her breast and wishes she'd targeted that a lot more than she did if got that kind of reaction. Kate turned her right hand, twisting the tender flesh and Jen took a step back to try to escape. That's when Kate brought her left fist up under Jen's chin and gave her an uppercut of her own! It wasn't a clean impact, but it was enough to shake Lawrence up.
Kate gave Jen another shove with her right hand, then leg go of her breast and swung her right fist at hard as she could after nearly seven grueling, hard-fought rounds. This one landed flush on the side of Lawrence's jaw and turned out Jen's lights!
Jen staggered, then her hands dropped as her body did a slow turn to the right with the momentum of the punch. As Lawrence started to drop, Kate drew back and gave her another short, quick, right behind the left ear. This probably wasn't needed, but after the fight she'd been through, Kate wasn't taking the chance that Lawrence might still get up. The punch drove Jen's body forward and she crashed facefirst into the mat and lay with her hands at her sides, one knees slightly raised....not moving. The referee took one look and waved off the count. Kate Upton survives a knockdown in minute one to come all the way back and retain the title with a KO in the closing seconds of a KO7 victory!

After: A fight-of-the-year candidate goes the Champ's way, but Lawrence showed she isn't afraid of mixing it up with Upton and didn't back down. This may, hopefully, be the start of a longtime rivalry recalling some of the great FCBA series like: Theron-Bell, Winstead-Strahovski, Beckinsale-McCarthy, Garner-Theron, Ryan-Bell, Spears-Fishel, Simpson-Spears, Ferguson-Atkinson, and many others.
"If you watched this match, then there shouldn't be any question on whether Jennifer belongs up here. She sure does, but does she belong on top?" Kate said with a smile, admiring her belt, "Not today. Jennifer Lawrence is a good blonde, but I'm a Great Blonde. As far as I'm concerned, I'm the new Golden Goddess around here. I can break girls of any hair color though, but I do have a special place in my heart and jugs for blondes. Today, was a warning for her but next time, she is going to have to be taught a lesson a little more..lasting." as Kate took the moment to thrust out her jugs, just in case the message was lost for a moment. "But for now, this is a lesson for the rest of the league what happens when you try to take on the Queen." Kate added with a smirk, then took a moment to hold up her belt with one hand, flexing a bicep with the other as she scanned the crowd for rivals like Amanda Righetti or Brooklyn Decker. But, seeing none of those threats to her kingdom at the moment, Kate the Great left the ring with her reign assured for at least one more month...
