Elizabeth Olsen vs. Katheryn Winnick(Words: Fates / Results: Lookout!)

Intro:

The two women here are looking to end their years in a positive fashion, with Olsen trying to beat her previous year’s record of 2-2 while Winnick looks to make her 2018 line come to 12-3.

Elizabeth Olsen is 29 years old, stands at 5’5”, and has a record of 19 wins, 15 of them by knockout, and 16 losses since 2012.

Katheryn Winnick is 41 years old, stands at 5’4”, and has a record of 14 wins, all by knockout, and 3 losses since her debut last year.

“I don’t care that I’m older, I’ve been fighting for just over a year and am closing in on the number of wins Olsen has over her seven years in the FCBA.” Winnick tells the press in a fiery statement. “She peaked in 2015, and it’s a miracle she got signed. She’s not having another year above .500.”

Olsen’s statement is more sedate: “Look, Winnick has been on fire since joining the FCBA with a 13-3 record, and that’s since last year. I’ve had seven fights since last year. But I’m ready to open a new chapter in my career, and that means getting wins.”

Round 1:
Winnick wastes no time and goes straight after Olsen, much to the younger fighter’s surprise. Liz throws up her guard, but Katheryn goes straight to the actresses’ body, forcing Olsen to back off and start circling. A wry smile flashes across Winnick’s face as Olsen tries to keep her distance until she nervously steps forward and trades shots into her opponent’s block. Katheryn keeps up her momentum by firing shots off at Olsen, forcing her to retreat into the ropes and take a few shots before she’s able to clinch and force the ref to break the hold. The two trade jabs for the remaining forty-five seconds, but it’s clear that Winnick is the one looking for Olsen and dictating the tempo. Katheryn takes the round on points wide.

Round 2:
Olsen must have gotten an earful in the corner, because she was up as soon as the bell rang and wasted no time going after Winnick, landing a quick set of punches to Katheryn’s chin before dodging a counter. Liz backs off, and the two women start to circle each other before Katheryn throws a massive right that completely misses Olsen! Lizzie dodged out of the way and unleashes a flurry on Winnick’s body at close range before taking two solid shots to the body and head in succession, forcing her to back off. Winnick goes on the offensive, hammering away at Olsen’s guard and backing her up, but lets up as she nears the ropes. Liz takes advantage with a quick few shots to Winnick’s body, and pursues her around the ring until the bell rings. Olsen takes the round on points close.

Round 3:
Both women start the round a little slower than the previous two, immediately circling each other rather than going for the other’s throat to start the round. Olsen is the first to make a move, throwing a feint with her left and lunging to throw a right into Winnick’s guard, leaving herself without protection. Katheryn notices and fires an uppercut that connects with Liz’s chin, rocking the actresses backwards. Olsen manages to get her guard up and let’s Winnick pound her body into the ropes before firing off some counters and eventually clinching, again forcing the ref to break the hold. The two women circle each other again, and Winnick takes the initiative, firing a jab right to Olsen’s mouth drawing a bit of blood, but Lizzie fires a jab back in kind, forcing the older woman to keep her distance as the round ends. Winnick wins the round on points wide.

Round 4:
Elizabeth comes out of her corner a bit slower than she did in the first three rounds, her lip still a bit redder than usual. Katheryn seems perfectly content to play a game of cat and mouse, relentlessly pursuing her opponent over time. Winnick closes in and feints with her right before getting rocked by an Olsen hook! Winnick retreats back, but Olsen pursues her into the ropes, returning the favor from earlier, and pumps leather into Winnick’s gut before the older actress clinches and the ref is forced to break them up. When the ref lets the two fight again, the two trade shots as they jab, with Olsen always initiating and getting Winnick off of her game just a bit more than the Canadian is able to do back to her. The bell signals the end of the round, and Olsen wins it on points close.

Round 5:
Katheryn and Elizabeth trudge out of their corners, each having taken two rounds of the fight so far. Winnick is keen to avoid a repeat of the previous round, and keeps Olsen at bay by launching jabs at the younger actress’ face before retreating. One jab and retreat. Another jab and retreat. A third jab and repeat. A fourth jab and Olsen dashes in only to get met with a second jab from Winnick! Katheryn tricked Lizzie to get close and connects with a trio of shots right to Olsen’s chest before Elizabeth starts counterpunching, eventually getting herself away from Winnick. Olsen breathing heavily from being suckered in, and keeps her distance from Winnick for the rest of the round, occasionally throwing a punch or two that connects with her opponent, but takes an equal number of shots whenever she does so. The bell dings, and Winnick takes the round on points close.

Round 6:
Winnick comes out of her corner with some extra enthusiasm, knowing that she has so far had the upper hand on her opponent, younger by a dozen years. Olsen keeps her distance for the first minute, remembering how she got smacked earlier by taken Winnick’s actions for granted. Katheryn settles into a rhythm again, a quick one-two, then retreating. Olsen takes one set into her guard. Another set. And then pops an uppercut right to Winnick’s chin as the elder actress goes in for a third set! Winnick somehow manages to get her guard up, and Elizabeth starts pounding Katheryn’s body. Olsen corrals Winnick into the ropes, and connects with an absolutely heinous shot to Katheryn’s solar plexus, forcing the blonde to fall into Olsen and eventually clinches. As the ref goes in to break the hold, the bell rings, and both fighters go to their respective corners. Elizabeth wins the round on points wide.

Round 7:
Olsen eagerly jumps out of her corner, looking to pick up where the previous round left off. Winnick clearly still feeling the pounding from the previous round, and once again tries to keep Elizabeth at bay as Liz tries to corral her into the ropes. Every time Katheryn looks like she’s cornered in the first minute, she manages to throw some hard punches Olsen’s way, forcing Liz to block or dodge, and then get out. The second minute rolls around, and Elizabeth starts being more aggressive, throwing feints and closing the distance, hitting Katheryn’s body and retreating before Winnick can hit back. Olsen pulls back again and Winnick throws a hook that finds nothing but air! Liz pounces on her exposed opponent, finding a solid jab right to Katheryn’s face, then alternating between head and body as Winnick tries to get her guard up. Olsen quickly finds one, two, three shots to Katheryn’s solar plexus and Winnick goes down moaning! Liz moves to a neutral corner as the ref starts the count. Katheryn gets to all fours at seven. Eight. She’s trying to find the ropes to help herself back up. Nine. Ten. Winnick can’t beat the count. Your winner by KO7, Elizabeth Olsen!

Liz smiles and waves to the crowd after her gloves are taken off. She walks over to a semi-conscious Winnick and hugs her before leaving the ring.

Postfight:
“I guess I underestimated Olsen tonight,” Winnick says into microphones, still a bit distant. “She did fight well and took it to me in the final two rounds. Onwards and upwards.”

“No two ways about it, Katheryn is one heck of a fighter,” Olsen says in her postfight interview. “She fought well, and her meteoric rise is frankly incredible. As for me, this is a new chapter for me in my career here in the FCBA,” Olsen tells the press. “The past two years have been rough, but I’m happy to have posted a record of 3-1 on the year and get signed to a stable. I’m hoping that next year continues the upward trend, because I am ready for it.”
