HAYDEN PANETTIERE VS CANDICE PATTON

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Hayden: 29 YO, 5’1 ½ (1.55 m), 66-34-1, 49 KOs since 2006, Foxfire Boxing

Candice: 30 YO, 5’ (1.63 m), 5-3-0, 5 KO since 2016, FCBA Free Agent

Before: “I read Archer News. I know why I am fighting Hayden,” announces Candice Patton at the pre-fight press conference. “She got her butt kicked by Demi Rose in her first fight at bantam. Now Foxfire is looking for some bantam jobber that ‘Hayden Panties’ thinks she can beat. So my phone rings and I find out they think it’s me. I got to tell you I was ready to tell them to take their offer and stick it up her cute little blonde a--. Well, I didn’t say that. I am a ‘free agent’—I can’t afford to turn down a fight. So I signed and here I am. I just want everyone to know I don’t job for anyone—ever. Nothing would give me more pleasure than add to the nightmare at bantam that Demi Rose started. You may think I sound harsh, but I have my pride and I am not in this fight to lose graciously. I here to win. Period.”

With that, Candice sits down at the table and takes a long drink from a water bottle.

Hayden Panettiere has been listening to Candice’s outburst with shock turning to stony-faced anger. Now she goes to the podium.

“Candice—I don’t know you and you certainly don’t know much about me. I will tell you I was not looking for a jobber to beat. That is not the way I operate. That is not the way Foxfire operates. We selected you because you had a decent record. I will admit I didn’t do as well as I had hoped against Demi Rose, but I am no quitter. I want to succeed at bantam. You don’t have much more experience at bantam than I do. You have won, which is more than I can say, but I am here to change that. If you think that is showing you disrespect, you couldn’t be more mistaken.”

“Sounds to me like you are admitting you found out from Demi Rose that fighting at bantam was harder than you thought—so now you’re looking for an easier bantam opponent. Now that is the truth, isn’t it?” Candice challenged.

“I don’t know why you are acting like this—you should be grateful for the chance to prove you deserve to be managed!” Hayden blurted out.

“You are just too kind,” Candice snapped. “You think I should be grateful for the chance to roll over and job for you.”

“I never said that!” Hayden cried. She left the podium to confront her accuser. Candice was up out of her chair with a wary look.

“You really want a catfight with me in front of all these people? ‘Cause let me tell you Hayden Panties—I undefeated in catfights and I sure would love to add you to the list of bytches I have taught lessons too!”

“Oh, you just bring it on! You may be bigger, but I promise your catfighting record is about to get a whole lot messier!” Hayden said.

“Hayden! You stop that right now!” It was Foxfire’s Communications Director Beth Harnois rushing in from the wings.

“Oh, tough luck. Your mom has shown up to save you,” Candice jeered.

Hayden was about to lunge at the taller Candice, but suddenly found herself locked up a full nelson courtesy of Beth.

“I think you are better leave now, Ms. Patton,” Beth panted as she struggled with the angry and frustrated Hayden. “I might not be able to hold her back.”

Candice sniffed: “Oh, I am scared now. Okay, I’ll leave, but we’re settling this in the ring. “Hard Rock Candi’ is putting ‘Hayden Panties’ down and out!”

“Cute nickname,” Beth said, “you just think of it?”

“I need something to give me an edge. ‘Hard Rock Candi’ sounded good to me,” Candice said proudly.

“Well, ;’Hard Rock Candi’ you are about to get pounded to pieces and the next time you call me ‘Hayden Panties’ it will be to admit I beat you fair and square!” Hayden snarled.

Casndice just smiled at that and nodded her head. Then she marched off the stage. Beth guided her still seething fighter off opposite side of the stage. The crowd was buzzing with excitement. If Candice Patton had been trying to draw attention by provoking Hayden Panettiere it seemed to work as new fans suddenly appeared all over social media and expressed their support of ‘Hard Rock Candi’ Patton. Of course, Hayden was not lacking for on-line support and the cyber-battles provided no small entertainment leading up to the actual fight.

The arena was filled with excitement as the two fighters entered in the ring and removed their robes. Candice was in a purple bikini with white trim, She wore white boots and gloves with purple laces, Her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. Hayden was in a red bikini with gold trim. She wore red gloves and boots with gold laces. Candice did all she could to make her nearly inch height advantage obvious by trying to body up on Hayden. The petite put her hands on her hips and glared up defiantly at Candice. The referee then stepped in to rebuke both women and remind them of their duty to follow rules and his instructions. Candice and Hayden went along with the words, but their eyes showed anger that did not fade as the instructions were finally finished and they departed to their corners. The crowd could see the tension and it brought a burst roaring excitement as the bell rang,

R1: Candice moved in quickly to attack Hayden with solid punches to the body that knocked Hayden back on her heels before she could set herself. Candice then went to the head with quick, straight rights and lefts that went in over Hayden’s gloves to smash into her forehead and knock the blonde’s head back. Hayden was obliged to scoot backwards to steady herself, but Candice was quick to advance in pursuit. However, Hayden now had her jab going to light up Candice’s face with strong counters. Candice now circled and tried to surprise Hayden with the direction of her punches. Hayden fought back, but started getting hit hard to the chest to knock her back. Hayden would come back, but Candice now swatted the sides of Hayden’s head forcing Hayden to give ground. Hayden continued a slow, stubborn retreat to the bell. Candice won the round, but it had been a close one.

R2: Hayden showed no sign of being intimidated by the bigger Candice as the new round began. She went straight for Candice and gave her a furious burst of hooks to the belly. Candice’s upper body was tipped forward and Hayden brought uppercuts crashing into Candice’s face. Candice fell back in shaky-legged disorder but tried to rally as Hayden burst upon her again. Hayden leaping up with her punches to smite Candice in the bikini top and further upwards into her chin. Candice jabbed back desperately trying to keep the smaller fighter off, but Hayden kept up the pressure and was backing Candice up at the bell. Hayden had a grim smile on her face as she strode back to her corner. She won the round wide.

R3: Hayden wasted no time in rushing back at Candice as they came out for R3, but Candice was ready. As Hayden came into punching range, Candice took advantage of a superior reach by lunging forward to crack Hayden across the saw with a powerhouse right. The impact sent Hayden staggering off to one side and Candice moved over to bring more leather crashing into Hayden’s head. Hayden backpedaled quickly while trying to protect her ringing noggin. Candice kept up the punching pressure, though now she was working over Hayden’s breasts, ribs and stomach with hooks that had Hayden gurgling from the impacts. Hayden managed to get her jab going to halt that near-rout and force Candice to pause before making another charge. Hayden continued to back away, but then Candice came in again and there was a fierce eschange. Hayden was hit hard in both cheekbones, but did manage to stun Candice momentarily with a desperate jab to the point of the chin. Candice came in again and Hayden tried to drive her back. Candice was pressing forward hard just as the bell rang. Now Candice Patton had the grim smile of satisfaction as she won the round by a wide margin.

R4: Hayden showed more caution in approaching Candice as the new round began. Candice showed no such caution as she aggressively went at the smaller blonde. Hayden let her come in, but then dropped down and brought an explosive uppercut crashing into Candice’s chin as she leaning forward to bring her right into play. Candice stumbled backwards and Hayden tried to leap after her to force a knockdown. However Candice grabbed the incoming Hayden and locked her up in a clinch. The referee had to force them apart. Candice then tried to steady her defenses behind her jab, but Hayden was hooking her hard in the gut, then bringing raking rights and lefts across Candice’s breasts. Candice was trying to jab Hayden back, but Hayden was dodging most of these while keeping her leather hard onto Candice’s aching body. Candice struggled to push Hayden back all the way to the bell, but Hayden hung in and scored another right uppercut to the chin to send a shudder down Candice’s legs just as the bell rang. Candice looked very rubbery-legged getting back to her corner. Hayden looked annoyed that Candice was still standing, though she realized she had scored a wide win on the judges’ cards.

R5: Candice was worked on by her corner during the break, but she was noticeably slow in getting off her stool and sluggish as she started forward. Hayden was moving quite nimbly and started circling the slow-moving Candice, firing punches at all will that swiveled Candice’s head and brought her to a stupefied halt. Hayden then moved in with leaping rights to the jaw and then lefts to the chin. Candice took these shots with alarmingly little reaction and then her arms dropped to her sides as she crashed forward onto her face! Hayden nodded her head with satisfaction and departed to the neutral corner. Candice lay there as the referee began to count, but then she pushed herself up on her elbows and looked up bleakly at the referee. Then she slumped back to the canvas.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YER OUTT!!!”

THE WINNER: HAYDEN PANETTIERE DEFEATS CANDICE PATTON KO5.

After: “I guess ‘Hard Rock Candi’ will be looking for a new nickname. She looked like ‘Soft Candi’ to me,” Hayden joked with reporters. “I will admit she gave him some problems, especially in that 3rd Round, but I overcame them to win the fight. I am encouraged now to continue fighting at bantam. I am not sure I am championship material, but I’ve been at this 12 years now, I want some variety at this stage of my career.”

As for Candice Patton, she is revived and checked out by medical personnel before she allowed to speak to the press. Not surprisingly, Candice is downcast at her defeat.

“I don’t know what it is about that little she-devil. I honestly thought I would be able to pound her down the whole fight. I did it in R3 and maybe R1, but she came back hard. She punches hard for a converted flyweight. My advice to future bantams: take Hayden seriously at bantam or you’ll pay for it.”

Hayden showed some promise of being able to fight successfully at bantam with this win, but she is still a long way from proving she could be a serious contender in the division, Still, a win is a win and Hayden certainly earned it. Disappointing loss for Candice Patton. She showed some fire in the pre-fight (some managers appreciate that in a potential fighter), but she was just not able to dominate the smaller Hayden as might have been expected. Candice still has a winning record, though it has slipped to 5-4-0 now, so there is hope this fight will give her some needed exposure and more fights, though she needs to win them to really establish herself as a candidate for stable membership.
