Before: The fight is a special charity event held in Toronto, Canada. Troian and Meghan (now the Duchess of Sussex) are not unacquainted as Troian explains to the press at one of the promotional events.

“Meghan was always the biggest backstage sparrer on the set of SUITS. I was always eager to spar with her during my two guest stints on that show,” Troian relates. “I always wanted a full scale fight with her, but it never happened. When this came along I jumped at it. I can tell you this will be no punch-and-tickle bout. I am too competitive for that and so is Meghan. Besides, when am I ever going to get the chance to fight an actual duchess? I could not let a fight like that not go on my Win column!”

Meghan is a good mood, but she makes it clear: “I am here to win this fight. I have never had regular management, but I have put together a decent record for a free agent. I realize I don’t have too many fighting years left. I determined to win this fight, Beating a distinguished fighter like Troian would be a nice way to begin 2019,”

It’s a packed, enthusiastic arena as Troian and Meghan come to the ring. Troian is in a white one piece suit with a thin halter top . Black gloves with white laces. White boots with black laces. Her dark hair in pulled back in a ponytail. Meghan has opted for royal blue one piece with shoulderi straps. Royal blue gloves and boots. Gold laces. Meghan;s hair pulled back in a elaborate braid and then coiled on top of her head.

The ring instructions are covered smoothly, Tap of the gloves and fighters depart for their corners. Fans working up chants and cheers as Troian and Meghan jog eagerly in place. The bell rings. Out they come…

R1: Meghan striking quickly with a quick right to the jaw and then a follow-up left to the jaw. Troian dropping back, trying to cover with the jab, but Meghan moving quite evasively while firing in strong shots to the body. Troian under pressure as Meghan moves forward and makes Troi give ground. Troi not getting good leverage on her jabs and she’s taking a lot of leather as the round moves on, Troian tries to counterattack, Smacks Meghan to the side of the head, but then gets a right to the mouth to freeze her, Meghan unleashes crisp hooks to the stomach and she got Troian backing up looking very uncomfortable. Round ends and Meghan Markle wins the opening round wide.

R2: Troian getting advice from PLP trainer Nia Peeples and apparently the advice was to be more aggressive. Troian goes hard to the body before Meghan can get set up. Troian then presses her back with more pounding hooks to the stomach of ribcage, Meghan hunched uo from the pressure, trying to circle around Troian, but Troi blocking the move and they have a sharp clash in close, Then Troian gets a right cross to Meghan’s jaw and brings the left hook into her chin, Meghan stumbling back in disorder and Troi piling the head shots until Meghan is covering her face with her gloves. Troian goes right to the body and she works to get Meghan onto the ropes, Meghan pushed back into the strands, but quickly clinches to break up the attack,. Troian working to keep Meghan trapped, but Meghan slides along the ropes and time runs out before Troian can get her trapped again. Troian comes back with a wide round victory of her own,

R3: Meghan shows good recovery time between rounds as she comes out with fresh determination, Troian looks determined, too, but Meghan makes a good feint to the left as she comes in and drives her right into the point of Troian’s chin. Troian goes staggering back and Meghan pursues with a barrage of punching aimed mainly at Troian’s body. Troian trying to pull herself together, but Meghan is not about to let this happen, Meghan’s arms churning like piston rods as she drives the faltering Troian across the ring and onto the ropes. Troian smacked hard to the head with rights and lets, until she has her face in her gloves and she’s using her seat on the ropes to keep her legs up. Meghan looking wonderful as she just stands there giving Troian a thorough scouring beating. Troian just hanging there and taking it. Bell sounds and Meghan steps back, raises her arms as the crowd showers cheers on her.

Troian spits out her mouthpiece and says: “Don’t celebrate too much. I am still standing.”

Meghan has her mouthpiece out: “Yes, and I find that really annoying. Give me another round and I’ll see what can do about it.”

Meghan awarded the round in a shutout.

R4: Troian patched up by the PLP corner crew while she confers with trainer Nia Peeples. The bell rings and Troian comes charging hard out of her corner, Troian sees Meghan pulling back her right to throw a blockbuster, but Troian leaps forward and brings a right crashing into the side of Meghan’s head. Meghan sent slamming sideways into the ropes, bounces off and is greeted by a Troian Bellisario uppercut that hurls her back into the strands. Troian now has reversed the situation and its Meghan huddled on the ropes as Troian pounds away at her to the body, Troian throwing in shots off the top of Meghan’s head to keep head spinning. It has the additional effect of wrecking Meghan’s crown of braided hair, By the time the bell rings to end the ordeal, Meghan Markle’s hair is drooping down across face in wet tendrils. Troian breathing hard at the end of the round. Meghan moving with obvious pain, but she glares defiantly at Troian.

“I’m getting you back in the next round,” Meghan promises.

“I’ll be wait,” Troian assures her. She has answered Meghan Markle’s shutout round with one o her own.

R5: Now it is the turn of Meghan Markle’s corner crew to get their fighter repaired and ready to return to action. Meghan shows resilience as she leaves her corner at full steam and heads for Troian who has a look of determination to finish what she started in the previous round., Two unleashed strong rights to the head and both connect. Both are knocked to one side for a moment, but quickly go right back at each other. Meghan landing first in this exchange as she makes Troian head bob up and down from quick uppercuts to the chin. Troian dazed for a moment, but then comes back with right hook to the stomach that doubles Meghan up with a gasp. Troian then tries to bring uppercuts up into Meghan’s over hanging face, but Meghan backpedals out of there very quickly. Troian obliged to give chase and tries to get Meghan back onto the ropes. Meghan chooses to stand her ground before she gets another trip into the strands. Now they are going at it toe to toe and really hammering each other to the body with an intensity that has the crowd on its feet cheering them on. Observers waiting to see who breaks first, but any momentary weakening by one is quickly followed by a moment’s weakness from the other. Pounding goes from breasts down to the ribs and onto the stomach. Both also, try for quick head shots, but these are matched punch for punch. They are going all out down to the bell and when it, sounds they end of grasping other by the shoulders for few seconds to steady themselves. Then they go to their corners as thunderous applause rains down on them. The judges call this one a DRAW.

R6: The action picks up right where Troi and Meghan left off. They get back into the at toe to toe close range body pounding and the intensity starts to build again. Troian is starting to bob up and down, It’s making her harder to hit and it starts to draw Meghan off balance. Then Troian suddenly drops back as Meghan is punching forward, Meghan lurches forward and Troian brings a full-powered right sweeping in to crash against Meghan’s jaw. Megan’s head whips around in a spray of sweat and as she starts to come back, Troian connects with another blasting right to the jaw and Meghan now spins away. She staggers a few steps and then topples forward landing hard on her face. She lies there shuddering as Troian heads for the neutral corner. Troian craning her neck to see what’s going on as the referee starts to count. Meghan stirring, trying to push herself up, but lets out a groan and falls back onto the canas as the count reaches:

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER TROIAN BELLISARIO DEFEATS MEGHAN MARKLE (KO6)

After: Troian acknowledges the cheers of the crowd, but hurries over to assist Meghan to her feet, Meghan’s head seems to clear. She hugs Troian and raises her arm in victory. Then Troian hugs her. Crowd loves this good sportwomanship.

“Meghan Markle is GOOD,” Troian insists to the press later. “She just hasn’t had the experience and management I’ve had.. Believe me, I really had to work to beat her, and I am aching from the power of her punching.

Says Meghan Markle: “Of course, I would have preferred to win, but I went at with a former FCVA Bantamweight Champion. There was absolutely no holding back. We both fought our hardest and the best we could. It turned out she was better than I was tonight and so she won. I am pleased to hear that the event has helped raised so much for charity. It made even the pain of losing hurt less.”

It might have been predictable that 50 fight former champion beat a 20 fight opponent, but Meghan Markle proved a worthy opponent for Troian Bellisario. It was back and forth action most of the way with Troian only able to pull out the win in R6 with some veteran ring moves. At 37, Meghan Markle is not likely to be a contender, but there are older bantams out there who might be signable for some future event. Meanwhile, Troian Bellisario gets to savor a good win and look forward to 2019.
