(Free Agent vs Free Agent)

Intro:
The opening bout sees the first semi final of this years New Blood welterweight tournament, both women making their debut here in Toronto's Bell Center as Sofie Rovenstine meets Pauline Hoarau.

Sofie is 19 years old; she stands 5'11 and as stated this is her debut, she was born in Minnesota and won the Miss Tennessee teen USA pageant last year, which has led her to making her debut for Victoria Secret in the same year.

Pauline is 24 years old; she stands 5'11 ¼ and is also making her debut, the French native has also walked the catwalk on the Victoria Secret show in the past and has been the face of many advertising campaigns, including brands like Armani Exchange and Tommy Hilifiger.

Both women were interviewed at the New Blood training camp with special mentors for the fighters this year, Sofie gets interviewed first sitting next to her mentor Rebecca Romijn.

Asked why she joined the FCBA and the New Blood program, Sofie smiles as she replies "I have been watching the FCBA for a long time, I mean look at the strong women who've been here, I was inspired by girls like Charlize Theron of course, kiss ass models like Lima and Tyra Banks, I want to be like them"

Rebecca is asked about Sofie, what she thinks about her, she replies "the kid has a lot of love for this, she has shown me passion since she first started under my tutelage and not just because she is my fighter but I believe she can definitely win this if she sticks to the plans we have"

The final question is does Sofie have any last words to her opponents in the tournament, Sofie thinks and simply replies "good luck guys" as she grins and Rebecca just shakes her head with a rueful smile.

Pauline meanwhile has been paired up with fellow French model and multiple weight champion Laetitia Casta as her mentor.

Pauline was asked the same as Sofie about why she is here in the FCBA, she answers "this is where stars are made, I also would be lying if I didn't say I enjoyed the thrill of punching someone in the face (giggling at that part) so I definitely had to put my name into the hat for this tournament"

Laetitia says about Pauline "since I have begun training her, she has a good technical base, she kinda reminds me of myself when I was a rookie and I didn't turn out too bad right?" Winking at that part.

With Pauline telling her future rivals when prompted "I'm here to show what French class brings" blowing a kiss to the camera and smiling as her and Laetitia goes off to train.

Fight night; Sofie is out first with Rebecca behind her, she looks excited as she heads down to the ring wearing a red sports bra, red trunks with white stripes down the sides, red shoes and white gloves, her brunette hair is in a ponytail.

Stepping to the ring; Sofie waves to the fans as she does a lap inside the ring, settling into her corner where she takes a deep breath to compose herself before warming up.

Now here comes Pauline with Laetitia by her side, she is all smiles too as she heads down to the ring wearing a navy blue sports bra, navy trunks with red stripes up the sides, blue shoes with red gloves, her own brunette hair is also in a ponytail.

Getting into the ring; Pauline bows to each side of the ring before heading to her own corner, Laetitia giving her a pep talk in their native tongue as Pauline nods and stares over at her opponent.

When both women come face to face for the referees final instructions, they look cool and confident as they smile at each other, no hints of hatred yet; though let's see how they feel after trading fists.

Touching their gloves up respectfully when ordered too, both women turn and jog back to their corners, after getting hugs from their coaches it is time for the bell to ring to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Both rookies start off a little apprehensive as they start off trading single punches, Sofie does look the slightly more confident as she comes forwards more.
As the fighters warm up to the task, Pauline starts to show off her quick hands and footwork, landing clean shots to the face and body of Sofie, while taking mostly glancing blows in return.
The work rate of Pauline looks to be higher then Sofie, who is looking to land more power punches them combinations.
As Pauline looks to land another two punch combo, Sofie leans out the way and lands a counter right across the face of the French fighter.
That seems to spur Sofie on, she comes in close to work away in close to Pauline, working the abs of Hoarau as she drives her back.
Pauline moves back and the rest of the round is fought more evenly as seconds tick away, each is landing straight punches to the others face.
When the bell rings there is a smile from both women to the other, jogging back to their corners with Pauline's corner team happier with her effort.
While Rebecca is telling Sofie to step up, reminding her this is her chance to show the world who she is and what she brings to the division.
Round 2:
Now with both getting used to the feel of a right fight, they are starting to trade more punches as they move around on their toes.
Both landing rangy punches as they look for openings, before Sofie feints with her left and steps inside to bang two punches to the body of her opponent.
Pauline doesn't look as comfortable at fighting in closer range, allowing Sofie to back her up as Hoarau is looking to open up space to work.
With Sofie landing a two punch combo to the face of her opponent, beginning to drive her onto the ropes as Pauline covers up.
Sofie switches up to work the sides of the body, getting groans out of her fellow model, with Pauline nudging back Rovenstine to get off the ropes.
Pauline trying to come back at Sofie, leading to a grandstand finish to the round as the action becomes a little scruffy as they slug it out.
The round ends with both women nodding at each other, jogging back to their corners with Sofie now getting the praise as she sits down.
While now it is Laetitia who is telling Pauline to not let herself be pushed around, with Pauline nodding as she bangs her gloves together before standing up.
Round 3:
Again it is an evenly fought start to the round, both marking the others face up as they circle and trade, with Sofie just missing as she steps forwards with a left cross.
Pauline doubling up on her jab as she moves back, allowing Sofie to come towards her and looks to catch her coming in.
The French fighter has the tempo of the fight where she wants it, landing the better punches as she looks to have the better technical skills.
Sofie though dips under a straight and lands a right to the body, just missing with an overhand left as Pauline leans back and moves back.
Pauline looking a little relieved to have the space to work in again as she works at range, with both women parrying and trading single punches.
Late in the round Pauline surprises Sofie by stepping towards her to land a three punch to knock the American's head back.
The bell rings as Pauline has Sofie behind her guard, Pauline smiling as she heads back to a proud looking Laetitia, who pats her shoulder and praises her.
While Sofie's face is starting to redden up, with Rebecca kneeling in front of her and telling her "brush this round off, you are the best here tonight babe so don't lose confidence!" Sofie thanks her for the pep talk.
Round 4:
Pauline comes out the stronger; drilling her punches to the top of Sofie's head as she moves around more side to side.
As she looks to push forwards again; this time Sofie dips down and bumps her back with a left shoulder, then lands an overhand right that knocks Pauline onto her heels.
Sofie bangs a three punch combination that snaps the head of Pauline back, when the guard goes up Rovenstine turns her attention to banging the body with hard hooks.
Now Pauline seems stuck to the ropes as Laetitia shows for her to fight back, which she tries to do but is getting caught out too easily by the American.
A right/left combo turns Pauline's head and she clinches up with Sofie, the referee needed to step in to break both women apart.
The round ends with Sofie roaring "come on!" As she jogs back to her corner, with Rebecca bumping fists with her.
Pauline looks annoyed as she steps back to her corner, Laetitia now having to tell her to brush off the last round as back and forth goes this fight.
Round 5:
Pauline comes out looking to dictate the action, getting back behind a double jab as she looks to keep Sofie at range.
But she misses with a right cross as Sofie dips down, AN UPPERCUT WOBBLES PAULINE'S LEGS, WITH TWO HOOKS SMASHING ACROSS THE CHIN OF THE FRENCH WOMAN TO SEND HER TUMBLING TO HER BACK!
Sofie jogs over to a neutral corner with a big smile, looking excited with her first ever knockdown, 1...2...3...4.. Pauline's eyes look glassy as she looks up, 5...6...7 the gumshield comes out as Pauline just lays her head back down and 8...9...10 she is out for the count!

Winner Sofie Rovenstine KO Round 5

After:
An impressive knockout to start the career of Sofie; who rushes over to Rebecca with tears in her eyes as she can't believe it's over and she won.

Laetitia meanwhile rushes out with smelling salts to wake up Pauline, who sits up and punches the canvas when she wakes up, frustration etched on her face as she was sure that she was going to win.

Sofie shows class by heading over to Pauline when she is helped up to her feet by Laetitia, both girls chatting about the fight and they embrace while smiling.

Afterwards Pauline says she'll earn a rematch with Sofie someday, but first Sofie better win this tournament, making Sofie to thank her for her support.

With Pauline leaving the ring with Laetitia so she go back to the locker room to get a shower and maybe watch the final later tonight.

While Rebecca looks relieved that Sofie has only really several marks on her face but no cuts going into the final.

Sofie is only interested though in celebrating as she waves to the fans while doing a victory lap, before bumping fists with her mentor.

They leave the ring together with Sofie beginning to wonder who she will be facing, will it be Valerie Kaufman or Rachel Hilbert? Who are fighting next.
