(Girls Friday vs Medallion Boxing)

Intro:
This bout sees two veterans looking to get noticed by the FCBA bantamweight champion, Sophia Bush and Eliza Dushku fight for the second time in their careers.

Sophia is 36 years old; she stands 5'4 and holds a record of 24 wins, 22 by knockout and 20 defeats, she is a former FCBA JMD champion.

Eliza is 38 years old; she stands 5'5 and holds a record of 98 wins, 61 by knockout, 49 defeats with 6 draws, a former 5 time FCBA flyweight champion, a former 11 time FCBA bantamweight champion and is a FCBA Hall of fame member.

Both women fought back in 2005 in a hard fought war, Eliza emerged over Sophia with a ninth round stoppage to give Sophia her first defeat.

The fighters were interviewed at their gyms, Sophia all smiles as she finishes training and jogs over to chat to the press, shouting "hey!" Across the gym.

Once she gets to them; she is asked if this is a fight where she is looking for revenge, Sophia laughs before replying "if this were a few months or a year after our first fight then yes, but it is over a decade ago, so this is just business"

Sophia says "to think that I've been in the FCBA over 14 years now, me and Eliza now coach as well as fight now so we are getting old right?" Winking at the journalists.

She finishes by saying "seriously though the goal of becoming the FCBA bantamweight champion is still on my mind, Eliza is a true legend and beating her will be a big milestone on my career, I am not wasting my career now"

Eliza meanwhile finishes up working a punchbag, heading over to the press with a smile, she slips her gloves off as they ask her what her thoughts on this fight are.

She answers "I honestly couldn't remember I fought Sophia, I have had that many fights that unless it is a title fight they have been forgotten" chuckling as she wipes her brow.

"But I went and watched the tape to see what I did then, Sophia was amazing then and she has seriously got a hell of a lot better, some people I've fought that long ago still make the same mistakes now that I can still exploit, Sophia will be harder now though" admits Eliza as she gets serious.

"I'll still be the one getting my hand raised though as I know that I am still the better woman" finishes Eliza as she marches over to go do more training.

Fight night; Sophia comes out with Taryn Terrell and Eva Carneiro beside her, she looks full of smiles as she heads down to the ring.

She is wearing a white sports bra with black stripes down the sides, matching trunks, white shoes with black laces, black gloves and her hair is up in a ponytail.

Stepping into the ring; Sophia pumps her right fist in the air as she heads over to her corner, bumping fists with Taryn and Eva before she starts her warm up routine.

Now out comes Eliza with Kaley Cuoco working her corner tonight, she looks in a serious mood as she heads to the ring with her eyes locked onto it.

She is wearing a baby blue sports bra, matching trunks with white stripes down the sides, white gloves and blue shoes, her hair is also in a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring; Eliza raises her right fist in the air as she jogs to her corner, then settles into her own warm up routine as Kaley tells her to show Sophia whose the alpha in this ring.

Both women come to the ring center and shake their arms to keep them loose as their eyes are locked together, they both look confident as they smirk.

Bumping their gloves together with a slap of leather, they jog back to their corners so they are ready to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Both fighters start the action behind their piston like jabs, circling each other and looking to test each other out before making any rash decisions.
Eliza feints with her left to see how Sophia will react, then as she lands a jab off the gloves of her opponent, she lands a right off the abs to start getting on the front foot.
But Sophia shows impressive footwork to retreat back, then surprises Eliza with a quick step forwards and a straight punch to her face.
That gives confidence to Bush to push onwards with her head down and her fists testing the abs out of her fellow veteran.
Till Eliza nudges her back with a left and lands a right cross, allowing both fighters to reset and go back to trading single punches as they move on their toes.
Late in the round Eliza goes to land a left cross, Sophia though ducks under and lands an overhand right, with a left straight into her mouth to push her backwards.
The bell rings with Sophia maybe just stealing that round in the end, but both girls are looking all smiles as they sit down knowing that was just a feeling out round.
Round 2:
This time both start throwing more combinations, Sophia is dodging more and landing the better punches in the early exchanges as she primarily works up top.
Eliza won't make things too easily though, landing a double jab as Sophia comes in, followed by a right across her face to back off the younger woman.
With Dushku starting to get some control over the action, getting stuck into tight fire exchanges with her opponent, before moving back to range and landing clean shots to the face.
Sophia needing to tighten her guard, that allows Eliza though to work more easily, the Hall of Famer landing punches off the gloves of Sophia to score points.
When Sophia does try to come out her guard late in the round, Eliza moves back and lands another double jab to show Bush that it isn't going to be that easy to get in close.
The round ends with Eliza clearly winning this round, it shows on her face as she is grinning on the way back to her corner, bumping fists with Kaley as she sits down.
While Sophia nods as she returns to her corner, Taryn telling her that it's OK to lose a round to Eliza, just don't make a habit of it.
Round 3:
Eliza starts the round off strong, keeping on the move and forcing Sophia to come to her, while firing punches at range.
The defence of Sophia is being tested, she is mostly blocking the punches but several are finding gaps to her body or face to keep her back.
Till Sophia begins to feint herself, before surprising Eliza by slipping under a straight to start working in close range to bash Dushku backwards.
But Eliza shoves her to the face and moves back into space, landing a left/right combo knocks Sophia's head back.
Eliza again starts to control the tempo of the fight as Sophia is struggling to find a way inside again, with punches starting to mark up the face of Sophia as she looks frustrated and is swinging more punches.
The round comes to a close with Eliza continuing to look all smiles as she returns to her corner, nothing yet to worry her from Sophia.
Who looks apologetic to Taryn, who yells at her to stop thinking about her feelings and focus on winning this fight.
Round 4:
Eliza looks to keep leading Sophia around by her nose, jabbing and moving as Sophia keeps on stalking her around the ring.
This time though Sophia looks more focused on moving her own head more to dodge and slipping in close to land a right across her opponents face.
With Sophia finally able to get Eliza to back up as she lands more punches in bunches through to the face of the Medallion fighter.
Eliza looks to nudge Sophia; except Sophia sidesteps her and lands a right hook across her face to knock her back onto her heels.
Now Eliza is being driven onto the ropes, covering up top as Sophia sends a flurry towards her face, before switching to hooks to the ribs to make Eliza cry out.
The round ends with Eliza looking a little annoyed that she got pushed back, Sophia jogging straight back to her corner with a smile as Taryn nods at her.
Eliza getting told off Kaley not to take Sophia lightly, with Eliza nodding at her as she takes on a drink, Kaley telling her what to change up for the next round.
Round 5:
Both fighters come out parrying and punching more as they look for something to build off, a mistake from the other woman.
It appears to come as Sophia goes to move in close, ELIZA PARRIES A STRAIGHT PUNCH AND COUNTERS WITH AN UPPERCUT THAT KNOCKS HER TO HER HEELS, THE FOLLOW UP LEFT HOOK SEND SOPHIA DOWN TO THE CANVAS!
Taryn can be seen saying "f***" as Eliza heads to a neutral corner, 1...2...3.. Sophia blinks as she lays on her back, trying to clear her head 4...5...6. Before beginning to shove herself to her feet, 7...8.. Beating the count with a little stumble but raises her gloves to show she can continue.
Eliza comes on the front foot, drilling her punches to the face of her opponent as she is coming in strong to try and end this fight.
As Sophia eats a left/right combo straight onto her face, she ends up on the ropes where Eliza is looking to load up a right hook, Sophia grabs and holds onto her.
The referee needed to step in here to pull both women apart, with Sophia moving back and trying to recover behind her guard as Eliza comes forwards.
Sophia keeps grabbing onto Eliza, forcing the referee to keep coming in to pry the two apart till the bell rings to end the round.
Eliza looks over to the referee and tells them to stop Sophia holding as much, before she jogs over to her corner where Kaley tells her "that's my girl!" With a big grin.
Across the ring Sophia is getting water splashed over her as Taryn and Eva do their best to get her back into fighting shape, Sophia thanks them as she gets back up with her eyes firmly on Eliza.
Round 6:
The early action is mostly Eliza hunting down Sophia, jamming her jab up top into the gloves of the Chicago P.D star then switching things up to work the body.
Sophia might have been playing a little possum as she gets hit to the ribs with a left, but lands a hard right to the side of her opponent's head, a left cross quickly following.
The girls plant their feet more and trade to get the crowd cheering, Eliza looks to be winning the exchange after landing a two punch combo that forces Sophia to back off.
As she gives chase though; Sophia again surprises her by slipping under a left cross and lands a counter right under the ribs to make Eliza hiss out.
The fight is becoming a lot more evenly fought as Eliza seems to get momentum, before Sophia takes it off her with a perfectly timed counter.
Late in the round Eliza catches Sophia with a straight that opens her up to two more cross punches that knock the Girls Friday fighter back.
When the round ends Sophia is stuck behind her guard and to Taryns annoyance has probably has just lost another round.
But Sophia at least looks a little more upbeat, getting told off Eva that she did a much better job, as Taryn looks at the cut woman and asks if she wants to do the talk while she patches up Sophia to a chuckle from them.
Meanwhile Eliza and Kaley are talking about Sophia's resilience, with Eliza telling her "it took me 9 rounds to stop her last time, I damn well won't need that many to do it this time"
Round 7:
Eliza continues to be the aggressor; looking for that knockout as she throws two or three punches at a time while she comes on the front foot.
While Sophia is needing to dodge on the move and look for counters, both women are having good moments as they land stiff shots through the others guard.
It has to be said that Eliza is coming on stronger after she lands another combo to the marked up face of Sophia, forcing her back towards the ropes where she works to break her guard open.
Sophia though clinches up to the annoyance of Eliza, who screams "fight bytch!" As they are broken apart once more.
Well Eliza gets her wish her as Sophia beats her to the punch by ducking under a straight and coming up with an uppercut.
As Eliza steps back; Sophia lands a right that lands near the liver area of her opponent, Eliza can be seen grimacing as she gasps out.
Eliza looks winded as suddenly she covers up and Sophia has her head down while working piston like body punches in.
Needing to clinch up herself; Eliza seems to be cursing herself for her words earlier, taking in breath as the referee splits them apart.
Sophia comes on strong as the round ends with Eliza putting her hands on her head and suck in breath, while Sophia stares right at her with an expression that says "you're mine"
Once both women are sitting down; corner crews are hard at work with them, Kaley reminds Eliza "you are ahead! Hold onto her or do whatever you need to do to recover and win the last two rounds to get this over with!"
Round 8:
As the fight resumes; both have understandably slowed down but those body shots in the last round seem to have slowed Eliza right down as both women trade.
It's Sophia starting to take the fight to Eliza and the latter is holding more as she looks to get her second wind, the chant is spilt as they chant for their favourite.
A feint up top by Sophia opens up where wants to be, ELIZA IS TOO SLOW TO REACT AS HER LIVER TAKES A HARD RIGHT AND SHE CRUMBLES TO THE CANVAS HOLDING HER BODY!
Sophia jogs over to a neutral corner and stares down at Eliza, as if ready to pounce if needed to, 1...2...3...4.. But Eliza spits out her gumshield and rolls to her side, 5....6...7...8 coughing as she sucks in air, 9...10 and is counted out!

Winner Sophia Bush KO Round 8

After:
It has taken 14 years for Sophia to get this win back, she shows how much it means to her by mounting the bottom ropes behind her and raises her arms as she shouts "yes!" Repeatedly.

Kaley gets into the ring to check on Eliza, who is fighting back tears as she admits "f*** that hurt" with Kaley nodding from her own experiences of liver shots.

Sophia heads over to them to see if Eliza will be OK, just getting a nod from Dushku; who doesn't look like she wants to be friends with Bush anytime soon.

Instead both women head back to their corners to be cleaned up, Sophia of course is excited to get back to the ring center for the final announcement, as Taryn tells her to calm down.

Eliza on the other hand is just focused on getting her breath back, Kaley telling her she was simply unlucky, the fight was mostly hers and Sophia just got lucky.

As soon as both women are ready, Sophia and Eliza come to the ring center; where the referee lifts up the hand of Sophia, who jumps up and down several times.

Before rushing to hug Taryn and Eva as they are as they tell her how proud they are of her for overcoming a true legend in this ring.

Eliza just shakes her head and promises herself that next time will be different, stepping out the ring with Kaley as they head back to their locker room.

Inside the ring; Sophia bows to each side and hopes this is going to be the best year of her career, she wants the big titles and fights to prove her legacy is one to be proud of once she ends her career.

Tonight was part of adding to her legacy, as she leaves the ring she is already planning on how to get into the title hunt.
