Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Curiously, Bella Thorne one of the first times here not having the honour of being in the main event tonight. Ever since losing her JMD title, she’s faced arguably even tougher opponents in the ring that have absolutely raised some doubts about her title aspirations.

"I'm not really in the mood for talking tonight,” the redhead begins at the press conference, sort of sharing those sentiments about all the hearsay and rumours. “I'm focused on winning tonight, and f*ck everything else. Melissa looks pretty tough, but being tough doesn't mean you can hang with me in a boxing ring. I’ve been through twice as many fights as she has, and you guys pretty much know that I'm the favorite tonight. She's no Evangeline Lilly, that's for sure. So, unless she's ACTUALLY Supergirl, I'm going to beat her tonight. No, actually, I’m going to wreck her. Nothing personal, Mel.” Bella turns to Melissa with a playful smirk.

Melissa Benoist possessing a hit-and-miss record so far in her brief career, but at least she’s got some name recognition of her own as CBS’ own Supergirl. Playing the part requires some measure of confidence, so it’s no wonder that Benoist plays up her own strengths when it’s her turn to respond at the mic.

"I know you're all the rage these days, Bella, but I'm not that impressed. You might be the favorite tonight but that only puts all the pressure on YOU. And we all know you're not unbeatable. I've watched you getting beaten hard by Rose, Lovato and Lily.....and tonight, you might have to add ‘Benoist’ to that list. I know for a FACT that I'm stronger than you, and probably tougher too. With a bit of luck, you'll know it too by the time we’re done tonight."

Face-off at the podium is tense as well, as one can imagine, with Bella sticking her finger into Melissa’s chest and daring her to make a move on her promised words. Benoist however just smirking back, refusing to sink down to her opponent’s level. And girls are escorted backstage thereafter without further incident.

When it’s time for their entrances, Melissa coming out from backstage in, you guessed it, none other than her Supergirl costume and cape, or a version of it at least, with red trunks and a blue sports bra, both adorned with golden trims. Matching blue gloves and boots with gold lacing, with her blonde hair pulled back into a pigtail. The big blonde is accompanied by her trainer Nia Peeples and some PLP personnel as she makes her way towards the ring, looking mighty confident as she draws a respectable amount of noise from this crowd tonight. There are definitely some Supergirl fans in the arena tonight!

Bella out next in her classic purple and black tights and bra, red hair bundled up neatly, not a strand of hair out of place. She seems more focused than we’ve ever seen her before as she makes her way to the ring accompanied by both Carmen Electra and Kristanna Loken. The ‘Lethal Redhead’ is not playing games tonight, barely giving the fans any attention before quickly hopping into the ring. But wait, here it is – the former JMD champion giving the fans what they want with a short seductive dance in the center of the ring making the noise levels in the arena reach new heights, before making her way back to her corner for some last moment words from Loken.

Girls coldly touching gloves when the referee asks them for a clean fight. No surprises there. Something tells us that this fight’s gonna be more like a brawl than anything else. HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
First round spent testing her opponent’s resolve doesn’t spell good news for Bella Thorne, who gets attacked immediately by Melissa’s aggression and power. Thorne perhaps having gotten knocked to the head too many times before, now switching up her usual loud, explosive tactics to one that’s favouring her face disproportionately. Melissa’s team done their pre-fight homework, sparing no glancing shot to Bella’s face, then her body, landing short, crisp jabs over and over again, smiling when she sees Thorne almost getting stuck to the ropes after that last sortee. Thorne realising she needs to get her sh*t in order only in the third minute, allowing Melissa to scoot off to the bank with both quantity AND quality punches thrown at her in impressive manner.

ROUND 2:
Sound of the bell and here comes Benoist again, within a couple of seconds already closing the distance and exacting hell on Bella’s frame. The redhead more comfortable dealing with the aggression this time round, however, bracing her arms for the barrage and then socking Melissa clean in the nose in between the punches, drawing sharp gasps from Supergirl herself. Benoist’s advance put to a blunt end, suddenly with one hand rubbing the nose, confident that Bella’s equally hurt to do anything funny. Well, she assumed wrong: right hook out of NOWHERE swivels Melissa’s head to the side, the force of the glove having swiped across her face at the speed of sound itself. Suddenly, Melissa sent DOWN to all fours, sputtering and spitting out her remaining hopes and dreams, as the referee begins the countdown for a knockdown THIS early in the development cycle!

But let’s not underestimate Benoist so fast, yes? The blonde actress manages to get back up to her feet at the count of 7, wondering to herself whether this was a sign from the gods if she’s truly out for such a sport. Nonetheless, Bella Thorne flying into the lead with this early knockdown, and she manages to control the rest of the two minutes left with a continuous stream of jabs sent at her head.

ROUND 3:
Melissa's fall to the canvas appears to have sapped her spirit early, even as we head into the third round alone. She's keeping her distance here, afraid of another shock knockdown that might be her last. Bella on the other hand with no such qualms, stalking the blonde all across the ring, left to right, right to left, trying to keep her busy with more jabs sent into any opening. It's like playing Whack-a-mole, only the opportunities are the small pockets in between Benoist’s guard that Bella exploits with glee. Melissa of course trying to fight back as well for what it’s worth, but she still hasn’t recovered fully, only flicking small jabs into Bella’s arms, or her wide hooks just too slow to be effective. Bella picking up the pace, intending to finish her off in the third round if she can manage it, but no such luck - Melissa left breathing hard on the ropes, dominated, but at least still standing by the end of it. Thorne with an incredible round for herself, but now of course we’re worried that she might have over-reached.

ROUND 4:
Case in point: Bella slow out of gate in the fourth, panting hard herself as she jabs halfheartedly at Benoist’s head. Blonde also catching her breath briefly, before launching herself back into comeback mode. She begins hounding Thorne with steady shots to the head and body, with Bella stunned briefly and also hitting back from afar, not to be outdone. Both girls not willing to come closer than that jabbing distance, however, for fear of getting knocked the f*ck out. Instead, they’re circling each other left to right, more a test of skill and defensive prowess than display of power this round. Benoist finally awakening, in our opinion, having survived that knockdown attempt and gotten her wits back about her. She pushes Bella backwards with a sudden cross to the middle of her guard, drawing a loud OUMPH from Thorne’s lips as she absorbs the force of that blow. Not much damage inflicted at the end of three minutes, but we’d argue that psychologically speaking, Melissa is back in charge.

ROUND 5:
Bella still trying to find her footing in the fifth, fending off some early flurries to her head, before grinding her teeth and keeping pace with her opponent. She’s pushing herself a little too hard here - every girl needs a little break and breather in terms of mixing aggression with defense, and gets punished for her sluggishness when Melissa lands another one-two quick combo to her lips and nostrils, making her eyes water. Melissa circling inwards, closer and closer, intending to cut off her foe’s life-line. Suddenly, Bella looks in trouble as she has nowhere else to go, her body taking more shots to the belly as she desperately covers her head exclusively. All of a sudden, Benoist SPRINGS into action: wild punches landing all over Thorne, hoping to finish her off! Bella’s abs taking a rough beating with more thundering hooks that land on either side, making her grunt and fold over. But then Benoist shifts focus towards the head, smashing the Doll’s arms apart as she unravels slowly! Uppercut up into the chin is the magic sauce needed, sending Bella careening backwards into the ropes before crumpling down to the canvas on her side!

KNOCKDOWN for Melissa Benoist, and what a beautiful knockdown it is! Bella just outplayed and outlasted in there, and with nowhere else to go, all she could do was sail down to the blonde’s feet! Embarrassing moment for the Dollhouse star as she tries to sit up, her groggy head making her slightly disoriented. Referee counting her out by the side already, as Melissa heads to neutral corner with a big confident smile on her face. Bella using the ropes as the seconds pass her by, determined to recover for now, and maybe even win this bloody thing in the coming rounds. But one step at a time - she makes it up to shaky feet just as the count passes 8!

ROUND 6:
Bella still looking slack jawed and glossy eyed as the sixth round begins - arms hovering over her chest and mouth hanging open as she sucks in precious air. She needs to stay alive in this round as well - a hurdle to pass if she wants to cross the finish line eventually. Melissa also tired, but with that determined glint in her eyes as she advances on her foe and starts the fist-flying. Bella hounded by jabs at first, with little answer to them but to retreat. It’s her turn to not having fully recovered yet, using her guard to hide the majority of her face, the majority of the time, as she blocks and weaves around those punches best she can. Benoist getting frustrated down the middle, not being able to land the more significant shots if her opponent just refuses to engage with her throughout, ends up firing a big straight hand that was intended to take Bella’s head off, but instead it slams danger-close into the middle of her arms. Still, the force of that super punch alone is enough to push Bella back a couple more steps, and hey, at least she’s safe and standing at the end of this round. Benoist taking this one by complete shutout, but even she didn’t manage to accomplish her primary objective: mainly, knocking the redhead down permanently.

ROUND 7:
Both girls semi-back in business when the bell rings, both looking slightly more springy in their step forwards. Melissa trying to maintain her lead by initiating a jab-jab-hook combo early, only to get a taste of her own medicine when Thorne blocks, parries it, then counters with a similar combination of her own to the face! OUCH. Melissa stunned as she ate that one up clean, but still not willing to give up just yet. Result is BOTH girls continue swinging at each other in the middle of the ring, drawing loud and clear grunts that fill the rest of the arena as they take turns hounding the other with heavy hooks. Rapid-fire swings are banging off the side of the head, others digging into tummy flesh as they just go at it for a good one minute! It’s not until a snap uppercut hits Melissa on the chin, sending her groggily backwards, that we suddenly have a winner of this wild melee! Bella snarling, not done, coming inwards looking to finish, but her subsequent jabs not all as successful as Melissa simply covers up her head and tries to weather the storm. Thorne still taking any shot she can, firing into the blonde’s body all the way until the referee intervenes with the sound of the bell. Good lord - these girls are going all the way, aren’t they?

ROUND 8:
Melissa on the run at this point, surely in danger of going down if she’s not careful in the next three rounds. Bella coming forward methodically, not in one of those brazen charges she’s known for. She tries to cut Melissa off with her own two feet moving left, then right, giving her opponent little breathing room. Melissa showing flashes of life however when she starts scoring with punches back to Bella’s nose. Thorne grimacing as these land painfully, but she keeps pushing forwards and pressuring her with a multitude of attacks of her own. Bella undeterred as a result, starts flashing her guns when she pounds hard on Benoist’s guard, throwing Supergirl about and then shoving her back towards the ropes. Benoist in trouble, clearly lacking any counter to the redhead’s aggression - another nasty hook lands on the side of her face, sending her careening off into the ropes for support! HERE comes Bella, chopping more body blows down below, before a revenge uppercut CRASHES upwards into the middle of Melissa’s guard, ROCKING her absolutely silly when it grazes her chin! Benoist COLLAPSES to the ground on that very spot, and this time, judging by her barely moving body, she gonna stay there! Referee takes a quick look and does NOT like what he sees! Waves this fight off! It’s over!

Official Decision: Bella Thorne defeats Melissa Benoist via KO8!

AFTER:
Bella immediately collapsing in exhaustion, panting as she leans against the ropes for support, trying to calm herself down. That last round took everything she had, and the relief at taking this tough blonde down is apparent on the redhead’s sweaty face. It takes a while, but Bella is finally able to regain some of her strength when she makes her way to the center of the ring and raises both arms in triumph and of course, that tongue sticks out of her mouth as the fans cheer one of their biggest stars on another impressive win!

Still, a tired look on Bella’s face after this massive war of eight rounds, but a win’s a win, and nobody’s going to deny the sultry vixen her prize tonight.

She takes her time, casually walking over to Melissa’s squirming body, and sort of drags the fallen blonde by her leg towards the middle of the ring. Melissa squealing, but unable to protest too much with her head spinning and the rest of her body aching and throbbing from the abuse of the past eight rounds. Thorne throws more oil onto the fire, placing her foot down to the middle of the blonde’s chest, drawing a loud OUMPH from Melissa’s lips, as she’s pinned to the floor by Bella. The Doll ends off the show with a flex of her arms and of course her tongue sticking out between those curved lips as she takes a final victory pose over her opponent, a special treat for the cameras of both fans and reporters alike.

Later, after Bella’s escorted backstage, reporters catch up and ask her about how she thought her fight went tonight. “To be honest…I didn’t expect such a difficult fight…Melissa is a tough b*tch. But it doesn’t matter, I underestimated her and STILL won. I need wins…I WANT wins…and I usually find a way to get them. Who’s next? Don’t know yet..but she’s going to lose.”

Big words from one of the biggest young stars around, and seems like she is determined to continue her climb to the top despite recent setbacks. Is Bella a future Bantamweight champion? We can’t wait to find out!
