BEFORE: 

Pair of brunette bantams with rising profiles but very short FCBA resumes. Both have shown themselves to be plenty aggressive, and neither is backing down in the pre-fight. "I'll sort her out," says Naomi with a nod. "I've beaten better than her and I'll BEAT better than her in future."

"She has a high opinion of herself," Tessa shoots back. "But, she's just about the only one who feels that way."

ROUND ONE:

Nobody taking a step back early. Instead, fighters right at one another off the bell, stepping to, banging away, landing hard shot. BOOM! Right hand, Naomi and Tess is HURT! That quickly, the American stumbling backward as the British beauty lets the hands go, backing her into the ropes and banging away. Naomi obviously looking to impress here, and now she has the chance to pull quite a trick, the elusive first-round stoppage. Tessa, meanwhile, in survival mode, hanging on in the ropes, taking a licking, but continuing to tick. Thompson with the guard high, jabbing back here and there, just looking to run clock. Scott helping her opponent in that effort by being TOO aggressive. She's pounding Tessa's arms, missing punches, not setting things up. Still, Naomi scores plenty, and, at the bell, she's taken the first wide to lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:

Second begins with Naomi trying to, if not finish, then at least effect a full clean up. BOOM! Counter from Tessa and now SCOTT is HURT! Thompson gets the back foot planted and lands a SCINTILLATING right hand and Naomi nearly goes to the canvas! Instead, Scott wobbles backward and Thompson's ALL IN! Tessa paying back the Brit for last round with interest, hammering away with both hands, driving her into the ropes. And, making the same mistakes Scott made in the first frame. She's too aggressive, not taking her time to set up punches. Instead, she's winging away, and, while she's able to land some hard shot, much of the leather is blocked or misses, and that helps Naomi hang on in a high guard and keep the referee at bay with occasional offense. At the bell, the Brit is still standing, but the American has taken the round and the points and evened things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Tessa continuing to run the show early. Naomi still a little wobbly, and the American taking advantage, backing her up, forcing her to cover up. Scott willing to give ground for about the first minute, but, at that point, she begins firming up and firing back. Second minute is good, two-way stuff with both fighters having their moments and neither able to gain much of an advantage. Final minute sees Scott begin to get it rolling and begin rolling Thompson backward. All of a sudden, Tessa's on the defensive, as the Brit's getting hard shot on target, backing her up, and walking her down. Near the end of the round, Thompson's working hard to stay off the ropes. She succeeds, but barely. What she can't accomplish, however, is making the early lead hold up. Naomi makes up the stagger and pulls ahead in the final seconds, taking the points narrowly and grabbing back the lead at 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Again, Tessa aggressive early, stepping to Scott. Naomi not having it, hanging right in there and banging back. FIREFIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING! Ladies letting the hands go and...BOOM! Right hand, TESSA! Thompson ROCKS SCOTT'S WORLD! Naomi's steppin' in fence post holes as the American goes all in for the second time in three rounds. Thompson BATTERING Scott back into the ropes then having at her. And, this time, Tessa's far less sloppy. She's staying sound, setting up punches, working body, and giving the Brit a THOROUGH going over. Scott in DEEP trouble as the referee looks in, but Naomi's doing enough to keep him at bay, and playing enough defense to stop Tessa from ending the thing. When the bell rings, the Brit's still upright, but, for the second time in three rounds, Tessa's touched her up and taken the points wide, tying the fight, this time at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Thompson rompin'. She's all OVER Scott to start the fifth. She's got the British brunette in reverse and aims to keep her there, banging away lusty to head and body, stepping into the breech over and over again to keep Naomi on the defensive. Scott's corner shouting at their girl to hold canvas, but Naomi can't get it done. BOOM! Right-hand counter, Scott! Naomi catches Tessa stepping in and DOWN GOES THOMPSON! Fight flips on a dime, or, more properly, one perfect punch, as Naomi turns out Tessa's lights and sends her nosing in at the Brit's feet! Crowd as surprised as Scott, who stands there staring down at Thompson's inert form for a few seconds before realizing she needs to head to a neutral corner. When she gets there, the count begins, and Scott's wasted precious time. But, as the numbers mount, it's clear it won't matter. Thompson is OUT. And it's OVER. And your winner by KO5 in one-punch fashion is Naomi Scott!

AFTER:

Scott looking more than a little scuffed following her Consortium debut, but she's all smiles at the result. "She landed a couple of lucky ones," says the brunette beauty. "But, I showed the kind of fighter I am by taking them, rallying back, and then stopping her when I needed to. Did you SEE what I did to her? She went down so hard, I thought she dented the canvas! And, that's just the start. Lookout, bantamweight division. I'm COMING for you!"
