TESS VALMORE

In the opening bout, Madeline Mantock met Gemma Arterton. How you think a newcomer would do against a former champ, a top twenty lightweight in Boxing Worlds rankings, who had won 11 or her last 12? Yeah. that’s how it went. Arterton took about eight minutes to dispose of the newcomer

Front Street is deep in bantams and two of the top ten live there, Bennet who is ranked at two and Dennings, who holds down the tenth ranking. They were both in action. Dennings fought Russell, a newcomer, who had just won her first bout in the PPV and Bennet was in with Candice Patton. Dennings took care of business by a KO in the sixth. Bennet walked away with a KO win also in the sixth round.   I suspect both will retain their ranking

In flyweight action McCurdy met Jeffery, who was the fighter that Russell beat in her maiden fight. Jeffery had no better luck against McCurdy than she did against Russell. McCurdy won in fifth round KO

Hunter King met Jeanine Mason in another bantam bout. Mason was a newbie. King was undefeated in thirteen bout. She is now undefeated in fourteen bouts

In the final and best bout of the night, Cathy Lotz handed Lil Reinhart her first loss after winning her first seven. Lotz took the first three rounds and had a good lead going into the seventh when Reinhart decked Lotz to even the bout. Reinhart took the lead in the eighth, but it was all far naught as Lotz ended Reinhart’s win streak with a booming right that floored Reinhart and in the ref’s opinion left her in no condition to continue the bout.
