The May PPV is in the books with some surprising results (surprising to me). It was a large card with title matches in all four divisions. Since the PPV and Asylum went the same time, I am combining the comments on the two PPV’s.

Righetti beat T. Atkinson as expected and continued her domination over the welters, as well as her reputation as the pound for pound fighter in the FCBA.

Ambrosio always seemed like an unlikely champion to me and I thought her title reign would last to one fight. She won her second defense beating a dangerous Sagra.

Lovato beat Chopra to retain the bantam title. The loss broke Chopra’s six fight win streak.

Not to belittle Stewarts win to retain the flyweight title, Panettiere has been in, for her, a funk. Stewarts almost six inch height advantage was too much. That said. Panettiere is a dangerous fighter. It will be interesting to see who Stewart picks for her next opponent. Will she go for Megan Fox or even Vanessa Hudgens?

The big upset of the night was B. Thorne’s win over Lawrence. After this win, I don’t see how Thorne can be denied a shot at the bantam crown. As for Lawrence, who is the lead fighter in the dysfunctional Chimera. The loss eliminates her from the top level of ranked welters, She has now lost her last six and seven of her last eight. It appears Miss Ginny’s moving her to welter has been a disaster. I’m not sure this stable can do anything right these days.

Prinsloo’s win over Freeman could well move her into the top ten. As for Prinsloo’s move to the top ten, Freeman will certainly move out as she has only beaten one ranked fighter in the last four years. In other welter action, Decker took care of Kelly Brook and Regan beat Nolin to no ones surprise. DiDonato should move up in the rankings with her win over Agdal. Rhoda’s win over Lawley was expected as Lawley’s only advantage over anyone is size.

In the lightweights, Jenner’s win over Yustman should get her a title fight. If it doesn’t we can only assume the Ambrosio is ducking. Swift’s win put Swan continued stay in Front Street is jeopardy In eleven years in the FCBA she has had only one official title fight which she lost. In another Front Street fight, Arterton scored an impressive win over Palicki which should end Palicki stay in the top ten. It was good to see Missy Peregrym return to action, however it was at lightweight. I would have preferred her to return to bantam, a division she once ruled before moving up to the heavier weight.

Speaking of bantam, Lovato is probably having nightmares who to fight next. As I said before Bella Thorne certainly deserves a title match. And then there is Lilly who has beaten Thorne this year and has been ducked for a year. Kosarin is certainly not out of the question for a title match .Then there is Winnick, who is 20-5 since the beginning of 2018, but honestly, she is not in the class of the afore mentioned bantams.

Top action in the flyweights was on the light side. Outside of the title fight, the only top twenty fighters in action were Holt, Roberts and Campbell all of whom won. Mendes looked good in winning and Steinfeld surprised Orrantia.

The action at the Asylum went as expected. I think the most impressive result was McCurdy’s second round KO of Jolo. Beyonce and Rihanna were both on the card. Both haven’t been active, but couldn’t be considered pushovers. Both are dangerous. Fortunately for Front Street, they won both with McKinney being impressive in her win over Rihanna.
