The Doll Ball Seven PPV and the Facing Fates card went on the same night, so I am covering both in one post.

DOLL BALL SEVEN

Electra mad a good choice of opponents for Gardner, who had lost her last two. She picked Naomi Scott, a new fighter of unknown quality, although she was picked up by the Consortium. It worked well. Scott lost her third fight of three.

Mayberry had little trouble beating Rachael Leigh Cook. Cook joins Alba, Johansson and others, who are way past there prime and who serve as easy wins for someone looking for a victory over a name.

Thorne couldn’t repeat her upset over Lawrence. My policy is when a top bantam faces a top lightweight, always go with the lightweight. That policy paid off.

Watson’s four inch height advantage was more than Lavigne could handle. Lavigne had just been ranked as the number four flyweight and Watson at eleven.  One of those fighters rankings is going to rise and it won’t be Lavigne.

Winnick had the big win of the night. She had a number of pundits pushing her for a title fight. Her win over Carter was a huge win and should put her near the front of the line behind Hudgens.

FACING FATES

Swift and Olsen opened the broadcast with a little chat. They did OK, but they are not in the same league with O’Dell, Cassandra Lynn, Mac and one other nameless participant.

Larson had is a little younger, a little bigger, and has a little better record. She is now still a little younger, a little bigger, but her record is now a much better then Min-Hee’s.

Barros had never won a fight in two tries. Heatherton had never won a fight in six tries. Barros now has a win and Heatherton should sink into oblivion.

Ming Xi and Ellingson were two more fighters who had never won an FCBA bout. Ellingson won and we are probably not going to hear much more of Ming Xi.

Prinsloo is quickly gained stature as a top welter.  Lawley’s main advantage is her size, which works well against average fighter. Her size just didn’t cut it against Prinsloo, giving Prinsloo a good workout before her title fight later this month.

As pointed out in pre-fight DiDonato had faced the better competition. Although both had winning records, the big hint was that Delevingne has lost to Lynch, a bantam. DiDonato had risen to fifteen in Boxing Worlds lightweight rankings, The result of this bout will not hurt her chances of rising further.
