TESS VALMORE

This was the third stable PPV of the month. I haven’t done particularly well on predicting on any, as I have gone 3-2 on every one. On this card, however, I have a good excuse. The VIX-Lookout stable war resulted in two upsets one of which will probably be the upset of the year.

The Lopilato/Jones, Lilly/Beckinsale and Ren/Gadot bouts all went as expected with Lopilato, Lilly and Ren winning.

The Lily Collins/Vanessa Hudgens was a mild upset. It was the fifth conventional fight between the two and Hudgens had won three of the previous four. Hudgens was ranked a three by Boxing World with Collins holding down the seventh slot Hudgens had just entered the Hall Of Fame. Collins had lost three straight to Hudgens including a JMD bout. Much to my surprise, Collins flattened Hudgens. This win should boost Collins chances of a title fight, particularly since she has never held a title.

Eve’s win over Megan Fox was huge. It is most probably going to be the upset of the year. Fox was ranked at three in the flyweights by Boxing World. Eve was ranked at 86 in the bantams. Fox’s career record was 46-25, but she was 27-2 in the last three years and had won eight of her last nine. Eve’s career record was 3-7 and she has lost five of her last six. This was a no-brainer. Fox would put Eve away any time she wanted. It didn’t turn out that way.  I was left in total shock when Fox was counted out in the sixth. Good thing Smackey had a flask in his coat pocket.

The Next Vix card with be a Holloway/Vix stable war on September 14 in Frisco, Texas, which is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
