Don't look now but this is Katheryn Winnick's fourth battle against one of the Lionesses alone during her late blooming career and some experts begin to wonder just how long can the 41-year old stunner keep this pace up? The choice of a genuine flyweight Cheryl Cole is downright strange especially when you consider the very same Geordie singer used to be Avril Lavigne's kryptonite for many months until the Punk Princess finally broke through her alleged bias and made the fight happen. Now that Lavigne has vanquished the Newcastle's finest, it's no longer a disservice to the Staples Center fanbase to host her inside the building?

Meanwhile Cheryl has been accused of taking it easy for the past several months. Not enough ranked opponents they said, well, how about going up to the 120 lbs class against someone with a better record than most? "These Nashville geniuses LOVE Kat Winnick! Hah! Bet they didn't see this one coming? Obviously Selena Gomez is the major bantam option for us but hey, I'm not gonna waste my talents on someone called Lauren Mayberry and Emma Roberts is too busy stalking Jessica Lowndes and everyone else so I might as well take Kat down instead! She's like frickin' tiny for a bantamweight, 5'4"? Geez, must be all fat ass which keeps her above one-ten?" (laughs).

Katheryn Winnick wears a white sports bra with black trim, matching hotpants, black & white 'Venum' labelled gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Cheryl Cole wears a black bikini top, leopard print panties & red gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division as Winnick brings 119 lbs and Cole has added extra to show 112 lbs on the scales.

Round 1: Flyweight or bantamweight, it doesn't matter for the Geordie spitfire who bounces into another high-octane start that requires Katheryn to duck some punches rather than throw them outright. She doesn't even try to match the jabbing burst but gets tagged a couple of times on the chin and has to react down the stretch. She uses her slightly superior reach to nick a couple of hooks in response but eats a brutal shot on the temple and wobbles to the side which only fuels Cheryl's attacks. The brunette piles on the exposed ribcage but seemingly wants to knock the blonde's head back too and rains jabbing menace that drops the Doll fighter onto the ropes where she has to clinch the charging Brit. Ugh! Not the way Winnick wanted to start this one as she shakes her head at the bell.

Round 2: Katheryn injects some extra pace into her moves and slugs it with the aggressive Brit who simply won't back down until she gets whacked across the mouth a couple of times and stumbles onto her heels. Winnick duly follows through and knocks the brown ponytail back before Cheryl bolts away into mid-range and bides her time with superior footwork as the Canadian tries to shut her down. The Doll pounce is on but brings little joy for the fans as Winnick spends too much time slicing thin air. Cheryl tries to regain some offense as she jumps back & forth around the older woman but just doesn't have the range to cause her any trouble and eats a quick hooking rally that almost traps her in the corner before she slips away at the last moment leaving Winnick annoyed at the bell.

Round 3: Lioness entourage knows they can wear Winnick out with Cheryl's speed but this can only last as long if she doesn't add the punishment; she takes off up the middle and enforces the phone booth slugging that Katheryn embraces scowling after she gets whacked across the chest with a seemingly wayward shot. But Chezza plugs more leather into that area which drops Winnick on her heels and allows the Geordie singer to cash in with more half-uppercuts aimed at the rack. Katheryn begins to squeal a little louder now as she tries to clinch the brunette but Cheryl swiftly digs deep into her ribcage and backs the subdued foe onto the ropes where she settles for that midriff prowl that neutralizes Winnick wholesale and earns the tourist a loud jeering series from the Staples crowd.

Round 4: More of the same in the fourth, Winnick misfires on the initial jabbing route and gets caught by the singer's speed who bounces into a proper body assault that comes down to Katheryn reeling upon impact. Chezza has enough raw strenght to avoid getting clinched and she plugs away to the Canadian's body until the shoves her against the turnbuckle and just keeps on going! Ding-dong rally leaves visible bruises on Katheryn's midsection until she digs her elbow against Cheryl's face to slow her down. Ref calls the tourist back but she's furious over the brief stoppage which allows Winnick to catch her breath back. Whatever, the Geordie pounce remains alive as Katheryn is stuck in the corner and gets bullied to the body again; even the overhand swing can't nail Chezza outright and this goes from bad to worse when the blonde's groans almost drown out coach Kristanna Loken's screams from the opposite corner. Bang-in, bang-out display from Cole who secures the round with commanding ease!

Round 5: Cheryl keeps rolling out with the jabbing bounce but Katheryn finally connects with the overhand response and stings the Brit back before blasting a left hook across her face! Ugh! Feel some bantam power, gurl! Cheryl wobbles almost too much upon a single punch but the blonde doesn't need another chance to pounce on the seemingly stunned foe. She splits the otherwise shaky guard and knocks that leather into Cheryl's face forcing her back at will. Cole just can't find her feet when getting pounded up the middle and trips onto the ropes where Winnick whacks her on the tummy to keep her from bolting away again. And it's time to blast some Geordie midsection now as Kat repays the favor and drills the area from both flanks to make Cole groan out her struggle. No way back here as the Canadian fancies some phone booth action and no matter how much Cole ducks & weaves on her feet she just can't embrace the heat and allows the local favorite to complete the shutout! Ugh!

Round 6: Cheryl is slow off the blocks this time maybe feeling some pain from that previous round but Katheryn anticipates the rush and beats it out with a brutal hook over the top that finds the temple and sends the Brit into a tank-slapper. Can't have that, dear! Winnick adds immediate jabbing rush up the middle and outworks the reeling brunette in the center of the ring before bursting into her liver area. Uh-oh! Cheryl folds forward and bounces off the top of Kat's shoulder but there's more to come as the Canadian plugs her mitts into the solar plexus and sinks the brunette on jelly knees. Cheryl is stuck on her heels and just can't land her shots anymore as Winnick clips her on the chin on the way up before a wicked hook finds the nose and FLOORS THE TOURIST UPON IMPACT!!! Staples Center errupts in joy as Cheryl sits down on her heels with that steely look on her face. She drags the count all the way until seven and tries to sell her self esteem as red hot but Kat has none of that and bangs in more quick shots with the resident flyweight reeling upon impact again! Winnick tees off and finds holes up the middle with Cole bumped into the ropes and barely throwing a punch now. Katheryn rains punches like skittles and Chezza's ponytail snaps all over shop as she yelps out her struggles and turns her back to the charging foe. Katheryn still belts her moments before that and Cheryl just can't fend off the heat anymore as she slumps against the ropes. AND THE REF CHARGES IN TO CALL THE FIGHT OFF with the brunette looking to be in some pain here. TKO6 Katheryn Winnick!!!

Official Decision: Katheryn Winnick defeats Cheryl Cole via TKO6.

AFTER:
"I can’t lie…her offense is scary good. She's a little brash but she came here to kick my ass and it showed! Luckily I was able to get some shots in in the 5th and turned things around on her, which seemed to have knocked the fight out of her. I’m not complaining…" a panting, fatigued looking Katheryn chuckles and then celebrates the win with coach Loken while the Lioness entourage has to swallow this otherwise expected bitter pill of defeat. It's unlikely Cheryl will ever try another bantamweight contest but her 2019 season hasn't lived up to the standards so this was like a swing for the fences in first place as she sets her sights on the upcoming BBU Ashes showdown later this month. It was ill-advised to take the always difficult Doll Ball test even against a small bantamweight like Winnick but it's all about being inside rather than outside. Cheryl looks upset as she talks to coach Eva Mendes but there's no question she will be back sooner rather than later.
