Tracy Spiradakos versus Elodie Frege

Before: “I’ve been at this a while now and I can say that Tracy is a tough one. She gets a little overshadowed in that pen of bantams over there at Bazz but she’s one of the better ones, perhaps the best. I know that I’m supposed to go all flyweight up here on my opponent. You know, all claws and back biting but it wouldn’t be very poetic saying that my opponent was trash and then beating her into the canvas. It’s just so much better to say that our dear Tracy is an excellent fighter before tagging her out. This, of course, I plan on getting done very quickly tonight.” Elodie Frege gives one of the FCBA’s more irreverent speeches and then prances off of the podium.

“Holy mackerel! I’ve had to sit through some real prefight jibberish but I think that only Ellen Page could top this one. You’re supposed to throw a compliment in there but not an entire size XL bottle of Mrs Butterworths with it, Elodie! You say for instance, ‘Elodie you’ve made a pretty good career with that jab of yours but I’m just going to charge right through and crush you tonight’. You see, less drama and more violence. Go with that next time Ellie.” Tracy Spiridakos winks at the throng of reporters and follows Elodie into the ring.

Elodie elegant but toned in a yellow bikini with black gloves and boxing shoes, her hair back in a ponytail. Tracy wearing her black bikini with matching gloves and boots, her hair loose and wild.

Rd 1 Tracy and Elodie out tentatively. They each have enough experience to know that their opponent is quick enough to hurt them with an effective counter punch if they start out with a sloppy attack right off the bat. Tracy strikes first with a strong jab to the face followed up with a right cross to the torso. Elodie retreats, backing up against the ropes. Tracy dances in flicking out jabs and continuing to strike with her right hand. At one point Elodie bounces out when Spiridakos lunges in with a right hand. She dodges another Spiridakos combination and steps in with one of her own. She hops to Tracy’s left slapping the Bazz girl with a jab and a right cross to the head. Yet Spiridakos is so quick she dnces back minimizing the damage from the combination and counters back with two vicious punches that bend Elodie’s head first to the left and then the right bringing the crowd to its feet. Meanwhile Frege’s technique seems so much different than her previous fights against the Bazz Fight Club. She’s approaching with her elbows more flared outwards and she is much more aggressive in her punching. Still each offensive maneuver is met with powerful counter punches from Tracy. Girls circling each other with jabs locked and loaded. Heads are snapping back with each attack as the fighting becomes downright vicious early. Elodie goes low to the body while Tracy stays up top trying to take off Frege’s head. Spiridakos getting in with some stiff jabs as the bell rings taking the round easily.

Rd 2 The crowd is getting excited sensing that the two bantams are evenly matched and are taking chances to get points. Elodie bobbing and weaving while Tracy dances on the outside. Frege lunging in with gusto looking to attack, snap, snap, snap with jabs at Spiridakos’ face. Tracy countering back with combinations trying to withstand the withering assault from Elodie. Elodie moves in straight into Tracy. Feet planted she smokes a brutal jab through Spiridakos’ defenses and sends her reeling backwards. Spiridakos stepping in fence posts in only the second round! Muscular Bazz girl assumes her best defensive posture with hands up around her face with Elodie charges in with eyes ablaze and looking for a knock down. Frege goes to work first on Spiridakos’ body then quickly moving up to try and tag Tracy with her strong right hand. Spiridakos holding off Elodie towards the end of the round with some defensive punching but it’s all Elodie Frege in this round.

Rd 3 Spiridakos sufficiently rejuvenated in her corner between rounds comes out hot with several strong jabs that score and seem to knock Elodie off of her game. Bazz girl looking slick with an upright posture and her left hand jab slipping by Elodie’s defenses on a regular basis. Still Frege isn’t standing idly by allowing Spiridakos to punish her. She’s up and down, in and out moving all over Tracy’s space. The same unorthodox approach she started the fight with, elbows out and fists flying while appearing awkward is proving to be a very strong mode of attack now. Elodie making a pest of herself snapping off to Tracy’s torso while doing her best to duck some very crisp jabs. Spiridakos upright and strong, the textbook example of a boxer’s stance. She slips in on Frege scoring with two quick jabs and then backing away from the surging Elodie. Spiridakos seems to be letting Frege push her around as stays out trying to use her quickness to out jab her. The result is Elodie squeaking out another round by keeping Spiridakos at a distance.

Rd 4 While she is worked on in her corner Tracy leans back to listen to some quiet words from Lis Rohm. She nods in agreement through the short instructions and then charges out to center ring. Spiridakos is a changed fighter, no longer hesitant, hanging on the outside looking to jab her way through the fight. She’s up into Elodie’s grill throwing short punches to her body. She’s aggressive and muscling Frege around the ring, living up to the nickname given to her by her Bazz teammates, Bulldog. It isn’t a pretty name but neither is Spiridakos’ style, just effective, extremely so. Elodie is hurt as she retreats from the Bazzgirl who is plowing right through the French fighter. Elodie puts her hands up defending against the power punch display being put on by Tracy but she is agile and shifts gears tagging Frege in the side, the torso and then smacking some serious jug. Elodie in a desperate form of survival mode now. She’s bent over by the ropes while Tracy burrows in. It looks as if the inevitable may happen and then the bell rings ending the round.

Rd 5 Lis continues to talk to Spiridakos in the Bazz corner during the break. When the fifth round starts Tracy is out strong again. She’s her old self, her hands up, biceps bulging as she steps in on Elodie. The crowd can hear the mitts smacking against Frege’s body while Spiridakos attacks. Both girls are still moving smoothly around the ring, Elodie despite having taken some sharp punches to the body and Tracy intent on moving forward. Elodie lashes out with a jab and a right cross that Spiridakos dodges with an agile step back and to the right. Frege bends her upper body back making Spiidakso miss with a right hand swipe that misses her head. Tracy keeps it up bullying Elodie into the ropes. She presses a shoulder into the French woman hitting her with a three punch combination that doubles Elodie over. Tracy follows up with a right hand cross but Frege is already on her way down. The Bazz girl’s punch just catching Her head. DOWN GOES ELODIE! Spiridakos’ last flurry was a devastating combination sending Elodie down into the fetal position on the canvas. The ref has no problem getting to ten and it’s all over. It’s a 6 round KO victory for Tracy Spridakos!

After: Tracy Siridakos lounges back on her stool looking up at the circle of reporters while keeping an eye on Elodie’s trainers helping her into her corner. “She’s a pretty good girl, even with that crazy opening talk. Actually I’m all with Elodie on running out of things to say up there. More to the point she really knocked me off of my game for a couple of rounds and she ran away with them. Luckily my corner, in this case Lis Rohm got me back into the game with some great coaching and I was on track before it was too late. So I learned a lesson against an imaginative fighter who could have easily beaten me tonight. I’m just going to remember the lesson and move on up to the next rung in this division.” Tracy hops up and moves through the crowd, ending up with her arm around Elodie Frege on the other side of the ring. . .
