(Words: Fates / Results: Lookout!)

Before:

Sagra begins the press conference, “I know that Taylor has been around for a long time, but it’s time that the torch go from one generation of fighters to another. I’ve been training hard, earning the chance to prove myself as one of the FCBA’s elite and a champion. Swift may be the champion coming into the fight – but I will make sure that she’s not the champ leaving it.”

“It took me a long time to get this title – 10 years of fights,” Swift responds, “And I have a lot of respect for you, Sagra, unlike other supposedly good fighters in the FCBA like Kate Upton. But you are going to learn why I am the lightweight champion, and why I will continue to be champion for a long time. It’s not that you aren’t ready, it’s that I am too good.”

Fight night: Anllela Sagra comes to the ring first to the cheers of the crowd, wearing a white sports bra and black trunks with white gloves for the fight. Sagra gets in the ring and the crowd can see the intensity in her eyes.

Then, after Sagra is comfortably in the ring, Taylor Swift is introduced by the announcer and the crowd roars as Swift steps out from the back, title around her waist. The blonde singer has donned a red sports bra and matching trunks with blue gloves, her hair tied up in a ponytail for the fight. Swift struts over to the ring and raises the lightweight title above her head before handing it over to the referee. Taylor and Anllela touch gloves and the ref calls for the bell.

Round 1:

Swift comes out of her corner and tries to circle Sagra, but the Colombian has no intention of circling Taylor and immediately starts closing distance and firing off powerful punches. Taylor tries to counter, but Anllela is too quick and gets right in Taylor’s grill, hammering away at the singer’s body and head. Taylor trying to keep the fitness trainer away, but Sagra is determined to get out to an early lead and nails Swift with a right hook that catches the champ off guard. Swift is off balance and Sagra notices and she drives a left right into Taylor’s chest, knocking the blonde into the ropes. Anllela looks to tee off on Swift, but the champ gets her counterpunches going and prevents the damage in the ropes from being too bad. Sagra still in control, even as Swift lands two clean rights, and at the bell, Sagra unquestionably dominated the round in terms of contact on her opponent. Anllela takes the opening round on points, wide, putting the champion on notice.

Round 2:

Taylor gets a talking to in her corner between rounds and when she comes out for the second round, she does so with measured aggression, trying to pick her moments where she can go after Anllela with minimal risk to herself. Swift gets her jab going early and starts fishing for headshots early, getting solid connection with a left straight to Sagra’s mouth. Anllela recoils from the punch and Taylor looks to press her advantage, but credit to Sagra, the Colombian makes Swift’s life difficult by using clean footwork and some quick blows to keep Taylor from laying on too much punishment. Swift may be landing blows, but Sagra is keeping pace with Taylor for the most part. Swift seems to be settling in when Sagra tries to definitively take the lead, upping the tempo and getting more aggressive in her punches at Swift’s head rather than her body. The American dodges Sagra’s punches and gets a cross in that connects with Anllela’s chin, but the bell saves the Colombian woman from an oncoming Taylor. As Taylor wins the round on points, close.

Round 3:

Fates’ talk in the corner before the second seems to have done more than enough to get Taylor going in the second as she comes out firing on all cylinders to start the third. Swift feints hard with her right and Sagra falls for it, not wanting to take a Swift right, but she gets completely nailed by the oncoming left that she is momentarily stunned, unsure of what hit her. Taylor hammers three quick punches into Sagra’s face before Anllela covers up and Taylor starts to plunge leather into Sagra’s body, hitting her in the chest and ribs. Sagra grimacing as she gets driven into the ropes as she seems helpless on her counters. Swift unleashing big, powerful punches until Sagra clinches and the referee has to separate the two women. Anllela is more active after the break, occasionally taking the initiative in the fight, but Taylor punishes her with blows to the ribs for each punch Anllela lands. Taylor goes on an offensive blitz in the waning seconds of the round, as she goes on to win the round on points, wide.

Round 4:

Now it’s Sagra who gets a talking to in the corner in the hopes that she turns the fight around. Taylor looks to come out of her corner with the same intensity as the third round and she gets her punches going early, but this time, Anllela is ready for them. Sagra keeps her guard up and keeps It strong, not letting Taylor split her guard. Taylor works Anllela’s body until she overextends and leaves herself vulnerable to the counter, and Sagra beautifully lays a punch into Swift’s chin, knocking the singer back. Swift tries to counter but Sagra dodges out of the way and chops at Swift’s chest, all the while, driving the blonde into the ropes. Once she gets Taylor into the ropes, Anllela works to keep her there with a brutal barrage of rights and lefts to the body, staying far enough away to where Swift can’t clinch. Swift is taking the beating for the time, but the question is how much longer she can do so. Eventually, Taylor clinches and the referee separates the two women. Sagra gets more offense in after the break, but Taylor prevents it from becoming a shutout by working her jab until the bell. Sagra turns the flow of the match with a fourth round win on points, wide.

Round 5:

Sagra and Swift both bound out of their corners and start hammering away at their opponent. Taylor gets the better of her opponent early, knocking solid punches into Anllela’s mouth. Sagra stands her ground though and when Swift tries to overpower her, Sagra gets Swift right in the nose with a right, drawing a trickle of blood from the singer’s nose. Taylor winces as on comes Anllela, slicing and dicing the American singer’s guard. The champ tries to go on the offensive but the challenger clocks the blonde with a left and Taylor is staggered slightly. Swift tries to jab Anllela away but the Colombian neatly sidesteps and drives a right into Swift’s jaw that knocks the champion onto her backside! Anllela trots to a neutral corner, a smile breaking out onto her face. The referee begins to count. One. Two. Taylor moves her arms around, trying to roll herself onto her belly. Three. Four. Swift gets herself onto her stomach and looks up at the referee, a look of exasperation on her face. Five. Six. Swift gets to all fours. Seven. Eight. One knee. Nine. Taylor gets up before the referee finishes the count and signals that she’s ready to continue.

Seeing that Swift is able to continue, the fight resumes and Sagra looks to press her advantage, driving her punches into Swift’s tummy and breasts, but Taylor doesn’t let Anllela punish her without fighting back, and the singer gets some clean shots back in on Sagra before Swift backs off and forces Sagra to circle for the rest of the round. Thanks to her knockdown, Sagra wins the round on points, wide.

Round 6:

Sagra with the momentum as the fight passes the halfway mark, and she opens up the round by quickly darting at Taylor and punching away at close range. Initially, Anllela has the initiative, but Taylor works her way back to more even standing with Sagra, courtesy of some strong punches that Taylor works into Sagra’s chin. The two women back off from each other and begin to circle, not wanting to risk letting the other woman get a lucky punch that knocks them down. Sagra again looks to dart at Swift, but the blonde is ready for her and pops two fast punches into her chin again. Sagra driven back a bit, but the fitness trainer uses her strength and plants her feet to come back at Swift with some body shots until the two women begin to circle each other again. Neither is able to definitively establish their style, but Swift gets her jab working in the final thirty seconds of the round. When all is said and done, the judges decide the round was a draw.

Round 7:

Neither woman shows signs of slowing down as they both get out of their corners for the seventh round. Taylor starts the round by keeping Anllela at a good distance, fishing for a potshot, but Sagra keeps her guard up and counterpunches Swift for the first minute. Starting in the second minute, Anllela looks to up the tempo, edging closer to Taylor and pumping out punches with a far greater frequency, pressing the blonde. Sagra fires off lefts and rights to Swift’s body with regularity, trying to wear the blonde down, but Taylor opts to continue punching at Anllela’s head, landing some good blows, even if others barely glance or miss the Colombian’s head. Sagra getting good contact on Swift’s body throughout and she starts shifting her attention to Taylor’s head. Anllela shoots out a vicious right hook…but nobody’s home and Taylor takes the opportunity to clock an exposed Sagra with a right haymaker that rocks the fitness trainer. Sagra shaking her head, trying to get her senses back as on comes Swift with lefts and rights aplenty. Taylor shocks Anllela back to reality with her blows and the Colombian is getting absolutely gobsmacked. Sagra looks for a counter against Swift but she misses and Taylor launches an uppercut that hits the challenger right in the jaw and drops her! Anllela collapses on the canvas as Taylor is already heading over to the corner. The ref starts to count over the prone form of Sagra. One. Nothing. Two. Sagra’s arm twitches. Three. Four. Anllela is stirring, but she looks to be a ways away from standing up. Five. Six. Anllela is blinking rapidly. Seven. Sagra must have heard the ref and processed that she was being counted because her eyes stay open and she tries to roll herself onto her belly, but she doesn’t have the strength to. Eight. Nine. Sagra is still trying. Ten. Anllela is still down and your winner and still lightweight champion by KO7, Taylor Swift!

After:

Taylor visibly relieved after the referee counts Sagra out and raises her hand. Swift eagerly takes the title back and puts it back around her waist before going over to Anllela to check in on her. Sagra’s talking to the medics and the Holloway staff as she comes around. Swift leans over her and the two women share a quick embrace before Taylor leaves the ring and heads to her interview.

“Anllela is a tough opponent. She is championship material, even if she hasn’t won the title yet.” Swift is complimentary of her opponent as she speaks to the press. “But she wasn’t going to take the title away from me. I have a reputation to maintain as champion and still have my doubters. So I’m keeping this title until I those who doubted me have no choice but to accept my dominance – including you, Kate.” Taylor Swift gets up and heads out as the press inquires about her next opponent for the lightweight title.

Anllela Sagra steps in a few minutes later, summoning up some of her last strength stores to deal with the press and their questions. “Taylor had the better fight tonight. She was able to handle what I dished out and she dealt punishment back to me.” Sagra pauses, “It’s disappointing to lose two title opportunities, but I’m not discouraged. I’m going to keep on winning and showing that I deserve to be lightweight champion someday.” Sagra gets up and leaves, having made herself clear that she fully intends on being a dominant fighter in the FCBA.
