Kate Beckinsale versus Emily Blunt

Kate:
(45, 5’7, 46:35:3 FCBA, VIXENs)

Emily:
(36, 5’7, 8:6 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
“Settling old scores, that’s what it is,” Kate Beckinsale saying with a nod.

It’s her press conference back-stage - she’s the newly appointed Chief of Communications inn the VIX locker room anyways, and sure as hell made sure the press turned up in force.

“Once upon a time, Emily got the better of me. These days, however, I’m feeling more invigorated in my new role as COC. I’m busy grooming these young ladies, showing them how to kick some arse. Blunt better be ready for round two, because I sure am.”

Blunt looking calm and confident in her own corner of table, smiling freely as the official announces her name to the room. The British actress is looking fit and in the pink of health as well, having been involved in a host of Hollywood blockbusters that have been physically demanding on her body.

“Look, whatever you want to call it, the facts of the matter are that I knocked Kate out in five rounds the last time we fought. No amount of hot air is gonna change that. So what if she jumped ship to another stable? That’s not going to help her in the ring tonight, you can mark my words.”

Ladies square off at the middle podium, hands on hips as they set each other with some cocky stares. Both are of the same height, with Beckinsale looking more toned despite the fact she’s almost a decade older than her British counterpart.

Later, in the ring, we’re set for ten rounds of Bantamweight action. Kate in a blue sports bra, white fighting trunks and black gloves, whereas Emily is wearing a simply black sports bra, red trunks and yellow leather. The referee waves a hand in the air and HERE we go!

ROUND 1:
Kate moving fast for a ten-year old disadvantage, stunning Emily with a strong right hand punt to the middle of the arms early. Beckinsale ever eager to prove she belongs in the ring, even at her age, and she’s planting those fists accordingly, doing her best to overwhelm Emily’s chances before the night is out. Blunt looking shocked, not knowing what to do at first, moving and blocking like she’s fighting someone completely new compared to that 2013 Beckinsale. She grunts as Kate lands another shot to her body, who alternates with jabs to the center of the arms. Blunt manages to score back when an impromptu quid pro quo takes place in the final minute, both Brits landing simultaneous shots to the face. Kate goes out of that exchange slightly hurt, realises that Blunt ain’t gonna go down without a fight either.

ROUND 2:
Case in point: Blunt moves as fast for her age, having caught wind of Beckinsale’s game plan and no looking to disrupt. She veers out of the way of her counterpart’s jabs and hooks, taking her time to swerve and block before punting Kate back on the nose with short, snappy jabs that knock her head back. Bad news for Beckinsale as she gets out-played by her opponent’s skill and agility, plain and simple, and no amount of brute force is going to change that. Girls end up resetting at opposite corners of the ring, looking shaken and winded when Kate swung a hook in desperation that almost took Blunt’s head off. Kate a little more cautious as she advances now, only to have Emily circle backwards and play the avoidance game - smart strategy for Blunt, who has already taken the second round by a wide margin until the bell rings.

ROUND 3:
Kate keeping back early, trying to match Blunt with her defensive guard. Emily with other ideas, however, comes stalking inwards and sideways, peppering Beckinsale with all manner of jabs and hooks that land to the body. No amount of abs are gonna withstand punishment for long, and Kate’s already groaning as parts of her body tanned and packed by leather. Blunt pushing her backwards, slow and steady hooks flashing by the side or the arms, then CATCHES Kate clean on the face in the middle minute, which ROCKS the Vixen bad! OUCH! Kate seeing stars as she reels back, desperate to cover and shake, but her body takes another left-right combo to the belly, bowling her over in pain. Prime real estate for a subsequent BLAST to the chin, and DOWN BECKINSALE GOES, crashing to all fours as she’s turned inside out!

Things NOT going well for Kate as she gets herself embarrassed in front of the entire arena, much less her stable, who let out a groan of pain on their bosses’ behalf. Emily Blunt pumping a fist calmly by her side, smiling wide as she returns to her corner, leaving Beckinsale to her fate as the aging matriarch climbs back up one foot at a time. She finally makes it back up by the count of 8, looking dishevelled and breathing hard on the ropes. Let’s hope she has what it takes to push another seven rounds!

ROUND 4:
Emily back to scoring snappy shots to her fellow Brit’s arms, occasionally tagging the nose and lips as she makes the best of her last round’s knockdown. Kate for the most part having recovered, but looking terrified of going down to her rival one more time, opts to stay back and veer wide whenever Emily roars in with a right hand. Kate gaining some confidence back in the final minute when she scores on the nose with a snappy series of jabs, sending Emily’s head pushed at awkward angles. Blunt growling, refusing to give up the chase, targets Beckinsale’s body again with straight hands mixed with low swings all the way to the bell. Neither woman taking full advantage of the fourth, but Blunt still takes the round due to greater numbers.

ROUND 5:
Blunt coming forward immediately at the bell, only to be met by Brit-on-Brit aggression when Kate does the same! THROWDOWN in the middle of the ring as these two lovely ladies exchange blunt force trauma to the face! OUCH! Who ever said age was a factor hasn’t seen these two going at it and what they’re each bringing to bear: Blunt doing her best to shock with whatever power she has left, but then POWERLESS when Kate swings a hook into her face, almost turning her around! POW!! Blunt rotated like a blast from the past as she goes spinning on her heels! HERE comes Beckinsale, chugging with revenge shots to the body, sending her lanky foe jerking and groaning all the way back to the ropes. Can Blunt survive this blitz? The two women trade places repeatedly, arms wrapped around each other as they rotate on the ropes, until the referee forces the separation. One thing’s for sure: Kate’s very much alive and kicking, intending to go the full ten rounds if she has to!

ROUND 6:
Blunt still looking shell-shocked by that blast to the head, shaking visibly as she rises from her stool. Beckinsale fills the void instead, comes towards her brimming with confidence and power. Blunt trying to dissuade her with a series of jabs flicked at the head, but Beckinsale bobbing, weaving, and blocking, SAILS in suddenly with a right cross that bounces off the forehead, pushes Blunt backwards from the sheer force alone. VIX corner blowing wind in their leader’s sails, goading her to finish the kill. Kate does exactly that, SLAMS another right hand clean to the arms, then SHOCKS Blunt to the side of the head with a left hook outta nowhere! DOWN GOES EMILY, simply FLOORED by that one left hook!! Referee takes a quick look and Blunt’s not moving, flattened out on her back as her chest rises and falls. It’s all over!

Official Decision: Kate Beckinsale defeats Emily Blunt via KO6!

AFTER:
“I’ll give it to Blunt - she put up a good fight, gave me a little scare back there in the third. Pity she didn’t go all the way with her stable. We would have to do round three again some day.”

Blunt looking tired and disappointed, waving medics away as she sits back up on her own, acknowledging the light applause from the fans for her efforts.

“Thought I had her in the third round, but guess I should’ve put her down with more force. Like you said, Kate - we’re gonna do this again some day.”
