BEFORE:

"It's really simple for me," says Katy with a nod. "She's the best. And, I always like to test myself against the best."

"This is great," says Amanda with a smile. "If you're in the FCBA, you want to come to Philly for one of these, and, on Hallowe'en against Perry? Yeah. Can't wait!"

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'California Gurls' you hear behind us, and that means 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry, is on her way to the ring..."

Cassie: "Uncle Wiz, as always, showing class and giving the honors to Hall of Famer and MDE Amanda Righetti..."

McCarthy: "Weirdo? Class? The last class HE has was probably third grade..."

O'Dell: "Perry into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. She's wearing that red two-piece we've seen before. And, that's 'Redemption Song' by Bob Marley, a favorite of the woman coming to the ring right now, making her Asylum debut, the MDE, Amanda 'Big Rig' Righetti!"

Tess: "Rumors flying that this could be the last Asylum welterweight fight. And, if it is, it's going to be a big one..."

O'Dell: "Righetti into the ring and helped off with the robe. And, we've got dueling reds, with Amanda wearing an apple red two-piece and looking to be in fantastic shape as always."

Cassie: "One of the biggest crowd pops I've ever heard here, both when she came down the aisle and on the disrobe..."

O'Dell: "Ladies ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Amanda. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Righetti!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. Ladies getting to range and getting their box on, and, while this might be a mild upset considering the way these fighters can hit, it might also be the right way of going about things. Because, again, both of these ladies can HIT, so you don't want to take a lot of chances early..."

Cassie: "And, let's keep in mind, both box well, too. Both are athletic and move very well."

O'Dell: "Especially for this weight. And, you're seeing that right now. Nobody doing any dancing or circling, but both Perry and Righetti moving the feet, angling, working the jab, probing for weaknesses in the defenses and not looking like they're finding all that many at the moment..."

Tess: "Not only are both ladies good boxers, both are good defensive fighters."

O'Dell: "Are, indeed, and, you've seen that throughout. Heading into the final fifteen seconds of this one. Perry with a good combination, the best one of the fight so far. Amanda fires right back and lands a solid right hand in there, and there's the bell. Close. To Big Rig."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second verse, same as the first. Fighters boxing and showing just how good they are at it, again, especially at this weight. Perry very active, moving the feet, angling, getting the jab on target. Amanda, wary of the power, staying at range for the moment, using her own excellent jab."

McCarthy: "Want to set up right hands with that. Both girls doing it, but, a lot of them being blocked or slipped."

O'Dell: "Another thing you don't always see at welter. Good right hand by Katy in that exchange. Righetti not hurt, but it got her attention. Perry definitely has the power to compete at this weight, even if this might be the last time she does it...assuming she's still at Front Street next year..."

Cassie: "Definitely a lot of 'ifs'..."

O'Dell: "Final thirty seconds of another competitive round. Righetti a nice combination, her best of the fight and Katy bangs right back landing a RINGING right hand that Amanda ships very well. That one would have put a lot of fighters down, but not Righetti. Five seconds to go. ladies will jab out the round. Close. Katy."

Tess: "Even at 19 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Ladies right back to range, working the hands and feet. It's been a very even fight so far, as one would expect with two of the top fighters in the FCBA. Perry a bit more active with the feet. Righetti looking to find with the left so she can drop the right hand. Both ladies scoring, but nobody taking control."

Tess: "Amanda's jab might be the best one in the welter division."

O'Dell: "Not much Righetti isn't the best at in the welter division, as we've seen over and over. Midway through the third. Nip-and-tuck stuff right now. Nobody able to create any space. Instead, we're seeing excellent boxing and some hard shot, but nobody able to hurt anyone, either."

Cassie: "Thing people sometimes forget at welter is, yeah, the girls hit harder, but, they're also bigger and sturdier and they can TAKE bigger punches."

O'Dell: "Seeing that right now, because both fighters have landed some good shots in this round, but neither has appeared to be bothered by those. Final ten seconds of the third, absolutely nothing in it. Good exchange right there, and there's the bell. This is going to go onto the cards as a draw, I think."

McCarthy: "29-29, then."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Pattern set in this one. Ladies want to box, and both are having success. Nobody able to take control, but no one going to push things at the moment, it appears. Both remain confident they can win it on these terms. GOOD combination, Righetti there! Big Red forces Katy to cover up!"

McCarthy: "Landed the best punch of the fight in that flurry."

O'Dell: "And follows up with ANOTHER. Backing Perry up again! Katy not hurt, but Amanda finding the range now, bringing the heavy guns to bear. AGAIN, Perry backed up. Redhead's got it going in BIG way now, getting into a very, very nice rhythm and putting Perry on the back foot..."

Tess: "Katy needs to find an answer, because she's taking a LOT of hard shot..."

O'Dell: "ANOTHER nice combination from Righetti backs Perry up. Katy not able to hold canvas right now, as Amanda is stepping forward behind the left, backing her up with the right hand. Ten seconds to go in the round. One more big flurry from Righetti and there's the bell. Amanda. Wide."

Cassie: "And Big Rig takes the 39-38 lead."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Righetti back to work, but Katy's made an adjustment here. She's angling, fouling the sights on that jab, slipping it, then getting off in combination. And, all of a sudden, Big Rig's control of the proceedings is slipping. Amanda still scoring, but but Perry back to giving as good as she's getting..."

Cassie: "Definitely a nice adjustment for Katy."

O"Dell: "It's gotten her right back into the fight after it looked as if Amanda were going to take control. Instead, Perry making this another two-way round. Katy landing a HARD combination there and Righetti covers up for the first time. Amanda banging back, though..."

Tess: "This has been a heck of a fight so far..."

O'Dell: "Which is what you'd have expected coming in. Perry a good flurry there, landed a solid right hand. Big Rig responds with a hard right of her own that backed Katy up for a second, but Perry responds with a final flurry at the bell. Very close in the fifth, but Perry's round."

McCarthy: "Even at 48."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Perry continuing to play the angles as we start the back half and she NAILS Amanda with a hard right! Righetti ships a punch that would have floored eighty percent of the division, but Katy follows with a nice flurry, forcing the redhead to cover up. Perry getting rolling, Mac..."

McCarthy: "Seems to have things going at the moment..."

O'Dell: "And, she's pressing that advantage. Amanda not hurt nor necessarily on the back foot, but, all of a sudden, it's Katy fighting lead and Righetti being somewhat suppressed by her rival's volume. Amanda a sharp right, but Perry fires back with another accurate combination..."

Cassie: "This is why Perry's already been a champion, and could easily have a collection of belts by now..."

O'Dell: "It's impressive stuff, no doubt, because that's no tomato can she's taking the fight to, it's the MDE. And, Amanda not taking this lying down. She's firing back here and there, but it's Perry who's in control as we head into the final seconds. One more flurry from the singer and there's the bell. Katy. Wide."

Tess: "And, Perry pulls into the lead 58-57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Katy continuing to control matters. She's got the geometry where she wants it, and she's taking advantage, landing hard shot on the redhead, forcing Amanda to cover up. Righetti firing back some, scoring with heavy leather of her own, but Perry getting more done..."

McCarthy: "Just a matter of time. Righetti will get her."

O'Dell: "BIG right hand, Katy and DOWN GOES RIGHETTI! Amanda dropped to hands and knees after a SCINTILLATING right from the singer. Katy to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Amanda to her feet at eight. Referee going to give her the mandatory..."

Tess: "And looking very closely while he does so..."

O'Dell: "Indeed, but, when he's finished, he waives on Katy. And Perry letting the hands go, backing Amanda up, looking to finish this thing right now. Righetti giving ground, keeping the hands high, backed to the ropes and taking, just running clock. And, there's precious little of it left. GOOD right, Perry, but there's the bell. Amanda survives. Katy, 10-8."

Cassie: "And, Perry's up 68-65 with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Katy on a mission as we start the eight. She's determined to finish this thing right now, stepping top Righetti, sitting down on her punches. She's looking to land another one on the screws, and, if she manages it, this thing might end about ten seconds later..."

Cassie: "Don't think there's any question about it. Amanda still wobbly..."

O'Dell: "And, Perry making hay while that's going on. She's shoveling the heavy leather at the redhead. Amanda blocking some, but there's plenty getting through, and there's no doubt it's adding up. Singer holding nothing back here, as she's in total control of the fight..."

Tess: "Got to wonder when Perry calls the dogs off. She's got this round won. Up four with two to go..."

O'Dell: "We shall see, but no signs of it right now. She's determined to finish, and Righetti has, so far, managed to avoid the killing blow, so to speak. Ten seconds remaining and it appears she'll make it to the bell. There it is, but another huge round for Katy, who pitches a shutout."

McCarthy: "78-74 now. Perry's probably going to turn the last two rounds into a track meet."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "Perry continuing with the pressure. She's in charge right now, and she's got no intention of taking the foot off the gas. Righetti being backed up. Still trying to get those legs back under her, and the singer making that very, very difficult as she continues to land heavy leather..."

Tess: "Dogs not being called off."

O'Dell: "They are not. Instead, Perry continuing to work to finish this thing. She's got Amanda on the back foot, piling up more points, just about sealing the deal right now, sitting on that huge lead. AND THERE'S A RIGHT HAND, AMANDA and Katy is HURT!"

McCarthy: "What an IDIOT! She should have run!"

O'Dell: "Righetti letting the hands go and DOWN GOES PERRY! Crowd going nuts. Amanda going to a neutral corner. Katy down on her back. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Perry sitting up. Seven. Eight. Nine. Katy beats it! Singer to her feet just in time and the ref gives her the mandatory and there's the bell! No time for Amanda to follow up..."

Cassie: "But, Righetti stole the round 10-8 and she's not out of this! What a fight!"

ROUND TEN:

O'Dell: "Righetti trying to finish this thing as we start the final round. Perry giving ground, countering, actually effecting a pretty solid fighting retreat. Righetti's taking canvas, but Perry's making her pay, and actually scoring a bit more than the redhead..."

McCarthy: "If Front Street HAD any trainers, they'd have told this girl to RUN for two rounds!"

Cassie: "That's not how Front Street fights."

McCarthy: "Well, it's STUPID, just like Campbell and Weirdo!"

O'Dell: "Perry jabbing, giving ground, and RIGHETTI LANDS A BOOMING RIGHT! And DOWN GOES PERRY! Katy dropped to her back by a vicious right hand and this thing is OVER! Amanda to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. And Perry's getting UP. Six. Seven. EIGHT. Katy on her feet and I have NO idea how!"

Tess: "Thought sure it was over..."

O'Dell: "Referee gives her the mandatory and ON COMES AMANDA! Righetti determined to finish this thing. She's winging away, backing Katy to the ropes. Perry with the guard high, rolling with, blocking, taking a hard right and IT'S OVER! Ref jumping in to waive this off with FIVE SECONDS TO GO! And your winner by TKO10 is Amanda Righetti!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Amanda Righetti, and, Amanda, that was a near thing..."

Amanda (nodding): "Yeah. Definitely had me in a hole. Give her credit. She didn't go into a shell. She kept fighting, and that gave me an opportunity."

Tess: "You didn't waste it..."

Amanda (shaking her head): "No, I didn't. She can take a punch. Couldn't get her out of there. Just had to keep coming and see if I couldn't get the stoppage. Almost didn't have time. But, I got it done. Kudos to her, though, because that was a hell of a fight."
