TESS VALMORE

The September Asylum PPV went as expected. Well, maybe not, since there was a bout that didn’t go the way it was supposed to

In the opening bout, Levy didn’t have much trouble in disposing of the seldom seen Cavallari in five.

Swan followed up Levy’s win with a fourth round KO of Heatherton. Coming in to this bout, Heatherton had never won a fight. She still hasn’t.

Kat Dennings took six rounds to flatten Jennifer Morrison. That took longer than I expected.

Azalea had lost five of her last six coming in to her bout with Utgaard. She left the ring having lost six of her last seven. She did last seven rounds. You might consider it a moral victory for Azalea, if you believe in such things.

The Arterton/Refaeli bout gave fans their moneys worth as it went eight rounds, the longest bout of the night. Refaeli was ahead on the cards from the start. It looked like she would win if she could take the bout to the end of ten. She didn’t. She ate a Arterton right in the eight round which ended her night.

Now we come to the Moretz/McCurdy fight which was the one I didn’t expect to go the way it did. Moretz came into this bout having lost ten of her last eleven. Her last loss happened to be to Dyer who savaged her in five, just 2 days before this bout. Natalia Dyer had debuted this year and had a 1-2 record. In my predictions, I said I wasn’t sure that a McCurdy loss in this fight would send her packing. When I said that, I didn’t know Moretz would be fighting on the September PPV. McCurdy lost to a fighter who had just been TKOed about 40 hours before. In the post fight press conference, The Wiz said he judges fighters by their body of work and not a single fight. That’s true, but if I was McCurdy I believe I would start cleaning out my room at the Manor and my locker at the gym.
