TESS VALMORE

The December PPV featured two title bouts. Both titles were successfully defended. Swift retained the title by beating Lima and Righetti, to no one’s surprise, beat Krsmanovic. It was Swifts eleventh straight win and her eighth title defense. As to Righetti, it was her twenty-fourth straight win and her eleventh title defense.

There was an unusual amount of action in the welter division as ten of the top welters were in action in conventional bouts. When I say “ten of the top welters," that is not the same thing as ten top ten welters. It’s difficult to justify a top ten welter list other than Miss Ginny comment that “there is always a top ten.” Decker probably made the biggest move by beating Ferguson. If she will be offered a title fight, it won’t be until the February PPV. Krsmanovic should just move to the BBU. Kloss continues to deteriorate and Strijd continues to find difficulty in beating other than average fighters

In the lightweights, Strahovski's win over Sagra should put her in line for a title fight, but she joins the line with DiDonato and Kendall Jenner, who Swift has been avoiding. Swift won’t have to worry about Jenner in next month’s challenges since Jenner is apparently scheduled for a Righetti fight in January.

Kosarin and Scodelario both won fights keep them in the top ten bantams but both have recently lost title fights to Thorne. Bennett, Dobrev and of course Lilly all deserve a title fight. Naomi Scott looks to move up the rankings after her win over Benoist, however Benoist has now lost four of her last five. The two “ancient” bantams, Jenny McCarthy and Kate Beckinsale both won their bouts. How long will they continue before officially going to the cougars?

The action in the flyweights was unusually light. Fox bounced back from her loss to Pia Miller by beating Rickards. The rookie Brec Bassinger remained undefeated by beating Miller Kunis. The handwriting is on the wall for Kunis. It’s time for her to consider retiring. This was the third straight losing season and she has lost five of her last six. Sarah Carter sent Henstridge down to defeat. Henstridge needs to step back and consider her future after having a terrible year losing seven of then bouts.
