4. Kate Beckinsale vs Jennifer Garner II

Kate: 46 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 47-35-3, 33 KO since 2002, VIXENs

Jennifer: 47 YO, 5’8 (1.73 m), 84-41-1, 55 KO since 2002, Foxfire Boxing

BEFORE:
“I just decided it time I got out from behind a desk and get back in the ring,” says Foxfire GM Jen Garner. “I dabbled with fights since I retired but the new Cougar Division was too good to pass up, especially since it allows me to take part in this stable war. I beat Kate back in 2004, but she’s been a lot more active in just the last year than I’ve been, so I think I’m the relative rookie here, so I see myself as the underdog.”

Kate Beckinsale smiles: “Nice to hear you being realistic about your chances. I do remember our one fight—TKO4, wasn’t it? You messed my face up rather excessively I always thought. I am happy for the opportunity to respond to that.”

“Your face just kept getting in the way of my gloves. All those bruises and cuts healed. I’m sure you have had many since. I am surprised you still hold a grudge,” Jen said.

“It’s not really a grudge, just an unpleasant memory than I would like to exorcise,” Kate said with an edge in her voice. “I expect to do just that—and help my team win.”

“I want my team to win and besides, beating a rival stable’s Head of Training and Communications would be a bonus my girls’ morale in this war,” said Jen starting to snarky herself.

The heat between the two veterans was rising rapidly. However, luckily, it was time for them to get out to the ring so the public to see them decide the issue in their actual fight.

Kate removed her robe to reveal a two-tone bikini: blue halter top and yellow bottoms. Jen removed her robe to show off a red bikini (halter top). Kate wore yellow gloves and blue boots. Jen was in black boots and gloves (red laces). Matching ponytails for both fighters. Ring instructions are crisp and to the point. Tap of the gloves and Jen and Kate are back in their corners. The bell rings.

ROUND 1:
Jennifer very aggressive as she and Kate close in on each other. Jen using quick strikes, alternating between head and body to keep Kate off balance. Kate trying to shake off the punches and counter with some sharp hooks to the ribs. Steady action as the two circle and counter circle on each other. Kate shifts her attention to trying to strike at Jen’s head, but the Foxfire veteran is dodging or blunting these strikes. Jen smacks Kate to the chin and jaw in response to Kate’s head shots and she’s got Kate covering up. Jen then goes to the body, hooking Kate to the midsection and stuffing punches into her flanks. Kate looking harried as the round draws to a close. Judges give it to Jen Garner by a wide margin on their cards.

ROUND 2:
New round finds Kate moving just a bit more quickly than Jen and it allows her to bring crackling right hands against the side of Jen’s head and her jaw. Jen goes wobbly and Kate now crowds in, pumping leather into Jen’s body as she tries to push her into the ropes. Jen tries to fight Kate off with her jab, but it’s not slowing the Vixen veteran. Kate sneaks in an uppercut that snaps Jen’s head back and sends her butt into the ropes. Jen trying to clinch, but Kate scoots back and then attacks the body to keep Jen on the ropes. Jen finally just goes face in gloves as Kate closes the round with sustained body punching. Kate walks away from a shaken Jen having won this round wide.

ROUND 3:
Now it’s Jen Garner moving just a bit faster than Kate Beckinsale as the new round gets started. Jen working Kate to the body with a rising intensity of punches to the stomach, ribs and up into her breasts. Kate is hunching up on the constant stream of torso punches and then Jen suddenly unloads with a powerhouse right to her jaw. Blow sends Kate’s head swiveling in a spray of sweat and blood. Kate stumbling off to one side. Jen moving with her brings another right crashing home. Kate’s leg suddenly collapses AND DOWN GOES KATE! Kate Beckinsale pitching forward onto her chest and laying there sprawled out. Jen quickly goes to the neutral corner. Referee counting as Kate struggles to her knees. She struggles to her feet to beat the count at “EIGHT!” Jen soon waved back in and went at Kate hard, clearly hoping to drive her into the ropes to finish her off. Kate fought back with her jab, but was still being pushed back towards the ropes. Kate kept moving, but slowly enough to stay off the ropes before the rounded end. The knockdown assured Jen would win the round, but Kate Beckinsale looked far from beaten as they went to their corners.

ROUND 4:
Jennifer Garner came hurrying out of her corner and she was likely hurrying too much. Kate Beckinsale seemed to have recovered during the break because she’s moving forward with determination. Kate blocked Jen’s opening right to the head and brought her own right crunching against Jen’s chin. Jen lurched forward and Kate was waiting with two left/right uppercuts under her chin. DOWN WENT JEN GARNER! The uppercuts flung Jen onto her back and she lay on the canvas stunned looking up at Kate. Kate wasted no time getting to the neutral corner. The referee was counting and Jen was rolling to one side, pushing herself up with one arm. Jen shook her head and looked up as she realized what was going on. She then made it to her feet in time to break the count. The referee checked her over and then waved Kate back in. Kate started firing shots at Jen’s head, but Jen was able to go face in gloves ad hunch up to leave Kate little to punch. Kate did work Jen’s side ribs, but Jen was still on her feet at the bell. However Kate now had her own knockdown and had won the round wide.

ROUND 5:
As the new round began, Kate and Jennifer were now back to circling each other and pumping out probing punches for openings. Then Kate suddenly moved in with a flurry of deep hooks to Jen’s abs. Jen was knocked back on her heels, but quickly recovered and went back at Kate with body punches of her own. Now they go at it at point-blank range, elbows and arms moving in and out as pumping rights and lefts slammed into sweaty, straining bodies. Jen seemed to be pushing Kate back with her punches, but then Kate suddenly stepped back and clouted Jen to the temple with a fast right. Jen recoiled back and Kate surged forward pounding at Jen from breast to belly. Jen struggled to counter and did manage to bring Kate’s offensive to a halt. They then banged away toe to toe until the bell. It was a close round, but the judges gave it to Kate Beckinsale by a narrow margin.

ROUND 6:

Jen and Kate went right back at each other as soon as the bell rang for the 6th Round. They opened with a barrage of breast punching with mean-spirited rights lefts into each other’s bra cup. Then they went down to the belly and ribs. They were very close together and the referee was obliged to separate them several times. Kate attempted her step back and punch tactic again this round, but Jen was quick to avoid the head shot and struck back with an overhand right to the jaw that staggered Kate. Jen drove punch after punch into Kate’s midsection until she had the Vixen veteran doubled up and gasping for air. However Kate surprised Jen with a sudden right uppercut to the chin and counterattacked to the body. Jen fought this to a standstill as the round ended. It was another close round, but this time the judges awarded it to Jennifer Garner.

ROUND 7:
Kate and Jennifer came out quickly for the 7th Round and seemed headed for another toe to toe battle, but as she neared Kate, Jen feinted to the body and Kate’s attention moved with it. Jen then threw in a right cross/left hook combination to the jaw that landed perfectly. Kate reeled back and Jen quickly unleashed a rapid series of uppercuts to the chin. Kate was crumbling backwards as Jen unleashed one last right uppercut. Kate’s boots left the canvas as her body crashed down hard. Kate lay there, arms over her head and legs spread apart. Her eyes were tightly closed and only her chest was moving. Jen trotted off to the neutral corner. The referee moved in. Kate’s eyes fluttered open, but she looked up glassily at the lights and could do no more.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!”

THE WINNER: JENNIFER GARNER OF FOXFIRE BOXING DEFEATS KATE BECKINSALE OF THE VIXENS KO7!

AFTER:

“That felt really good,” Jen said to the press as her Foxfire stablemates gathered around to congratulate her on the win. “I definitely will do more fights like this. I am just glad I was able to do my part for my team.”

Kate Beckinsale is revived and helped from the ring. She later comments ruefully: “Jen still hits as hard as she ever did. If she’s serious about her Cougar boxing a lot of fighters are going to find out the same thing.”

Good Cougar contest as Jennifer Garner starts to show more of the old championship form. Kate Beckinsale was no easy win and this has to be encouraging for Ms. Garner if she decides to continue with this second boxing career.

Meanwhile, it’s not a good night for the VIXENs as they go down by another score on the board. The Foxfire crew needs just ONE more fight to call it a night and declare victory!
