TROIAN BELLISARIO VS VICTORIA PATTISON

Results: Lookout - Writing: Archer

Troian: 34 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m), 31-23-0, since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers

Victoria: 32 YO, 5’6 (1.68 m), FCBA Debut (BBU: 7-2-1) since 2016, Global Boxing Syndicate

Before: “I am anxious to show GBS that they signed the right fighter when they hired me,” Vicky Pattison eagerly tells the press in the pre-fight press conference. “I know Troian will be tough, but I feel I can give a good account of myself against her. I am delighted to be here in the FCBA and I hope I will be here for a long, successful time.”

For her part, Troian smiles and says: “I am always ready to welcome a BBU fighter to our little fed. When I first started out in celebrity boxing back 2011 and 2012 I had 9 fights in the BBU and won them all. I always wanted to go back, but it hasn’t happened—yet. So I am glad to have Vicky here—it’s like the BBU has come to me. I am looking forward to this fight and if Vicky needs a hard test to show what she’s got—I’m the FCBA fighter to give it to her.”

Fight night finds Troian coming to the ring in a purple one pieceswim suit, dark purple gloves and boots. Her dark back is pulled back into battle braid. Vicky is in a light yellow one piece swimsuit with dark yellow gloves and boots (light yellow laces). Her dark hair is pulled back I a battle braid. The ring instructions are covered without incident. Troi and Vicky tap gloves and go to their corners. The bell rings.

R1: Vicky advances boldly to challenge Troian early on. Vicky getting to Troian’s chin with clipping uppercuts and quick let/right swats. Troian knocked back on her heels, gets her gloves up tight around face and head. Vicky now starts putting some digging hooks into Troi’ midsection. Troian backing way, trying to use her jab to counter, but Vicky brushes these off to maintain a steady pressure on the Puncher until the bell ends the round. Judges give the round to Victoria Pattison by a wide margin.

R2: Troian tries to be more aggressive as the new begins, she goes after Vicky to the head, but then gets smacked hard to the chin by Vicky counter-uppercut. Troian lurching back, but Vicky stays with her firing crisp shots at Troian to the head and body. Troian finds herself being driven backwards until her buns are up against the ropes. Troian trying to fight her way clear, but Vicky hammers her hard to the stomach, driving her against the ropes and keeping her pinned. Troian finally just covering her head and trying to ride out the bombardment. Vicky going at Troi’s huddled body all the way to the bell and then steps back. Troian looking ashen-faced and rubber-legged. Victoria smiling as she heads off to her corner while Troian trudges slowly towards hers. Round goes wide to Vicky Pattison,.

R3: Troian in urgent consultation with PLP trainer Nia Peeples during the break. Observers can’t hear what’s said, but not hard to guess Troian is being told to “stop letting her dominate you.” Troian responds with some more evasive footwork as the new round gets started. Troian using feints to draw Vicky off balance and then bring a crunching right hand into the Brit’s jaw. Vicky smacked up hard this way and then Troian brings her left into the jaw banging battle. Vicky falls back to regroup and Troian moves in fast with a viciously effective pounding attack to Vicky’s juggs and belly. Vicky now hunched up, trying to keep Troian back with the jab, but Troian moving in slick circle/counter-circle moves that open Vicky to more quick strikes to the head. Round ends as Troian is working Vicky towards the ropes and Troi wins her first round of the bout by a comfortable margin.

R4: Vicky tries to crush the uprising by attacking Troian to the head in the early going this round. Troian better at dodging or blunting these punches now and she strikes back with countering jabs to Vicky’s big juggs. Vicky trying to respond by moving in close and punching Troian hard to the body, but Troian drives a muscular right uppercut into Vicky’s chin. Vicky caught flush, her head jerks back and she lurches back on suddenly trembling legs. Troian blasts away with rights and lefts to the jaw before the dazed Vicky can get her mitts up. Vicky driven back faster and faster until a final leaping right cross to the jaw sends her skidding to the canvas. VICKY PATTISON IS DOWN. Vicky lies sprawled on her back, arms outflung, her chest heaving and her eyelids fluttering. Troian marches to neutral corner. Referee moves in. Victoria groans, tries to move her legs and lift her head, but that’s the best she can manage.

“NINE!...TEN!...YER OUT!” cries the referee.

THE WINNER: TROIAN BELLISARIO DEFEATS VICTORIA PATTISON KO4!

After: “I have to say Vicky hits hard,” Troian remarks later to the press. “I really felt her punches, but fortunately, I hit even harder and once I got the range, it was only a matter of time before she went down. Sorry to spoil her FCBA debut, but it’s my job to exploit any weaknesses I find in an opponent and I did. I wish her luck though, just not against me!”

“I was quite disappointed,” a crestfallen Victoria later tells press, “I was getting to Troian and I feel I could have worn her down. I think my mistake was underestimating her ability to recover and strike back. I sincerely hope to do better next time. After this setback I will be more determined than ever to succeed in the FCBA. My story here has only just begun!”

Pretty good analysis from both fighters concerning this fight. Difference may well have been Troian’s ability to come back after two bruising rounds and seize control of the fight on her way to a KO victory. No doubt the loss was disappointing to Victoria and her GBS management, but one hopes they can learn from this and get her on the path to future victories. Meanwhile Troian has gotten 2020 off to a winning start and her fans look forward to more to come in the year ahead.
