Before:

Two bantamweights clash in a rematch from 2017 when Melissa Benoist beat Elizabeth Olsen. Both girls can breakthrough with a win, and that excitement is palpable at the press conference.

“Look, I have nothing against Lizzie,” Melissa starts, “but we met once before, and history will repeat itself. Olsen’s the definition of mediocrity, and it’s showing at Fates. When I win, not only a. I going to halt any ambitions she has, but I’m also going to make sure everyone knows that I’m the one who buried Elizabeth.”

Olsen quickly fires back, “I still have a better winning percentage than you do. And believe me, I haven’t forgotten about our last meeting, and I have every intention of walking out tonight with a different result and proving that I am still a force to be reckoned with.”

For the fight, Olsen is dressed in a silver sports bra with matching trunks and hot pink gloves, her brown hair in a ponytail. Benoist is opposite of her, donning a white sports bra with black trunks and matching gloves. The two girls receive final instructions from the referee, and off we go!

Round 1:

The bell rings and the difference in tactics is apparent immediately - Benoist hangs back while Olsen charges forwards. Melissa works a quick shot to Lizzie’s chest, thumping her bra in a manner reminiscent of their first meeting back in 2016, but Liz keeps moving forwards and cracks a right into Melissa’s nose. Blonde girl backtracks and the brunette Olsen slides forwards again, looking to stay close to Benoist and places a shot to the older girl’s bra in retaliation for the shot Olsen took earlier. Melissa snarls and shoots off a right that catches Elizabeth in the shoulder, but again the shorter girl is able to take the blow, shift her focus, and drive a punishing body blow into Melissa’s ribs before the round ends. The Fates corner is rather pleased as Hannah Davis tends to Olsen, and Elizabeth Olsen wins the opening round on points, wide.

Round 2:

This time, Benoist is ready for a charging Olsen and quickly drops back. Lizzie pursues aggressively, quickly shifting her feet forwards and BAM! - Olsen takes a right that snaps her head back, her arms from up and Benoist thumps Olsen in her belly, drawing a groan from the Avenger. Melissa drives another eight into Lizzie’s face and the Avenger careens into the ropes. Benoist buries another right into Olsen’s belly and while the Fates fighter fights back and lands some punches, Olsen eventually comes around to wrapping her arms around Benoist. The referee separates the two girls, and after the break, Melissa starts to jab out at the shorter actress, forcing Elizabeth to go for a counterpunching strategy. The smaller brunette girl takes advantage of a hanging left from Melissa, but Elizabeth’s counters seemingly thump into Melissa’s ribs without effect, and she backs off for the rest of the round, being unable to get a solid counter. Benoist evens it all up after two, taking the second round on points, wide.

Round 3:

Benoist quickly gets out of her corner and for the first time, looks to control Olsen at the start of the round. Melissa takes advantage of her longer reach, jabbing at Lizzie. While Olsen’s guard stops Benoist from tagging her head, she leaves her body open and the blonde raps two quick punches into the brunette’s body. Lizzie comes back with a big right that gets Melissa’s ribs, but the blonde stands her ground and nails her brunette opponent in the shoulder, knocking Olsen off balance enough for a single left to the chin to again push her back into the ropes. Lizzie rebounds this time and tags Melissa’s torso with a right, but the blonde takes the blow and nicks Olsen in the chin with a right. Olsen stays up but she is back in the ropes and vulnerable for a few seconds of Benoist hammering away before the bell. The Fates corner wears concerned looks on their faces as Benoist used Olsen as her punching bag to win the third round on points, wide.

Round 4:

Liz comes out of her corner more cautiously for the fourth, keeping her distance from Melissa and forcing the blonde to initiate anything other than a hit and run. Benoist keeps her form tight, unleashing two quick jabs that hit Olsen’s gloves before the blonde drops back. Lizzie slides forwards to her right and slips a right into Melissa’s ribs and connects with a left to the opposing actress’ chin. Blonde girl takes a half step backwards and thumps the smaller girl’s right cheek. Now it’s Olsen who takes a step backwards and we move back to a stalemate. Lizzie working her feints, keeping Melissa desperately trying to figure out when the real blow is coming and where it’s going. Olsen looks high, Benoist inches her guard up and Lizzie raps two quick punches off of Melissa’s belly. Benoist flicks out two quick counters, but the first doesn’t land and the second barely glances off of the Avenger’s ear. Liz is about to thump body when the bell rings and the two girls have to go back to their respective corners. Olsen takes this one close, but a few more seconds and she maybe could have taken it wide.

Round 5:

Both actresses come out of their respective corners and immediately start circling each other. Olsen dips in and strikes the first blow of the round, going back to Benoist’s belly, drawing a scowl from the taller actress. Lizzie backs off and looks to continue circling as Melissa rushes her. Olsen bobs her head to the left in anticipation of a crisis-crossing left but Lizzie takes a straight right to her mouth, busting open her top lip. Olsen feints with her left and throws out a right as she gets slammed by another straight right sending Lizzie into the ropes as she staggered backwards. Olsen recovers quickly with a clinch, preventing Benoist from doing much more than a couple short strikes to the body. The ref breaks the clinch and once action resumes, Liz looks to catch Melissa off guard with a left hook. The brunette clips the blonde in the latter’s chin with her blow, but just clips it and Melissa plugs Liz with two fast rib punches and Olsen’s face contorts with the pain. The bell rings as Benoist slips in one last blow to Olsen’s body. Benoist takes the round on points, wide.

Round 6:

Both girls showing signs of tiring as they get back into the center of the ring. Melissa going straight for the Avenger’s body and Lizzie looking to counter. Blonde using her reach to her advantage, keeping Olsen at a far enough distance to limit the opportunities to commit to a full counter. Melissa launches a straight right that Elizabeth sidesteps and the brunette comes back with a right straight into Melissa’s gut AND THE BLONDE IS HURT! Benoist moans as Olsen buries a second blow into her belly, nearly doubling her over. Melissa’s arms come up to protect herself and take a left from Lizzie, but her right makes its way through and catches Melissa on the nose. Benoist reeling and Olsen connects with a hook to the jaw and down goes Melissa! Lizzie quickly retreats as the ref starts to count. Benoist rolling over, a grimace on her face as she tries to get up, but the best she can do is to get on all fours by the count of ten and it’s over! Your winner by KO6, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

A desperately needed win for the Fates fighter after being on a skid. Once she’s gotten her gloves off, Olsen goes over to check in on Benoist. The girls briefly hug and Lizzie exits the ring.

“She had some good rounds, but all I’m going to say is that it’s nice to get another win.” Olsen says. “Onwards and upwards - I know I still have more to prove, so don’t write me off, even if I’m one of the older girls at bantamweight who nobody thinks can win anymore.”
