Before:

The bantamweight action tonight continues with Elizabeth Olsen squaring off against Caity Lotz, with the former girl looking to enter the top 20 and the latter looking to keep her place. Both girls compliment the other before the match, with Olsen talking about Lotz’s improvements since 2017 while Lotz praises Olsen’s grit, going through two years as a free agent before landing her contract at Fates.

Elizabeth Olsen makes her way to the ring first and removes her robe to reveal a black sports bra with matching trunks and gloves. Caity Lotz then makes her way out and has chosen an orange sports bra with blue trunks and blue gloves with orange trim.

The two girls touch gloves after the ref talks to the two of them and the bell rings.

Round 1:

Caity and Lizzie move cautiously out of their corners, both girls knowing that a rash decision could lead to a disadvantage early, and for two girls who are trying to keep themselves in the discussion for top bantamweights, early deficits are something to be avoided. The girls start circling, both the blonde and the brunette actresses stand at 5’5” and have the same reach, so neither girl is going to be able to just keep her distance and take shots all day. Elizabeth Olsen is the first girl to make a move, feinting with her left and connecting with a right, getting Caity’s ribs. Liz follows up with a left to the chest and Lotz responds with a right that smacks across Olsen’s left cheek and hammers a left straight into the actress’ mouth. Lizzie staggers backwards before planting her feet and counterpunching, but Caity deftly floats to her right, dodging Elizabeth’s blows and slowly but surely landing punches that drive Olsen around the ring. The bell rings and both girls return to their corners. The first round may not have had too much action, but Caity takes it on points, wide.

Round 2:

The second round starts similarly to the first, neither girl advancing too aggressively. Lotz starts out the offense, first going with a shot to Olsen’s ribs, then going to the Avenger’s midriff. Lizzie taking the punishment well and not overreacting, keeping her counter textbook and tight, going to Caity’s body. The girls trade body blows for the first minute, trying to punish the other fighter’s body. Olsen lands a right that knocks Lotz slightly off balance and the Fates fighter drives a left into Caity’s right cheek. Lotz gives ground, but the blonde stays strong and when Olsen starts to get her punches working, Lotz carefully picks her counter, hitting Olsen back with nearly what she got hit with. The two girls work to a stalemate, neither being able to land any punches without retaliation from the other girl. The bell rings and both girls go back to their corners, breathing a bit more heavily than they may have wanted to. The judges determine that Olsen barely squeaked ahead in the round, and won the second on points, close.

Round 3:

The pace picks up in the third, with Lotz and Olsen both trading blows right off the bat. Lizzie sticks Caity with a left to the chin, but Lotz comes right back with a shot that catches Olsen’s nose. Elizabeth looks to respond with a left, but it skips off of the blonde’s body and Caity clocks Liz with a right to the mouth, drawing blood from Olsen’s upper lip. The veteran Lizzie backs off, trying to limit the damage, but Caity is persistent and starts dancing around Olsen. Slide left, punch-punch, slide right, punch-punch. Slide forward, punch-punch. Lizzie taking the blows to her guard, but every so often a punch slips between Olsen’s mitts, knocking the brunette girl backwards and eventually into the ropes. Lizzie is stuck there for a moment as Caity hammers two body shots home, causing Olsen’s body to shudder on impact, but the brunette slides a quick right into Lotz’s chin that buys just enough time for Olsen to escape the ropes. The final seconds of the round are spent with the two girls circling each other, neither throwing any punches as Caity doesn’t want to open the door for Elizabeth and Olsen doesn’t want Lotz to do more damage. The bell rings and both fighters return to their respective corners. Unsurprisingly, Lotz wins the round on points, wide.

Round 4:

Lotz picks up right where she left off at the end of the third, going to Olsen’s body with the occasional shot at the brunette’s head. Lizzie making use of whatever opportunities for counters that she can find, going more for Caity’s head to keep some distance between the two girls. Olsen takes a right to her chin that knocks the brunette back a bit and Lotz smashes a left into the Avenger’s mouth and reopens her upper lip. Caity sees the trickle of blood from Elizabeth’s lip and goes straight for another shot to the mouth, but Olsen blocks it and works her counterpunch, getting to Lotz’s midriff. Caity retreats and the two girls start circling, this time trading blows evenly, each punch from Lotz is matched by a shot from Olsen, both girls focusing on the body until the final three seconds when Lizzie fakes body and then goes for Catie’s head, snapping the blonde’s head back as the bell rings. It was a close round, but thanks to her early action, Caity edges out on points, close.

Round 5:

Lotz more cautious to start this round after Olsen snapped her head back at the end of the fourth. Blonde girl advancing towards her brunette opponent, both girls with their guards up. Caity again the one to start off with the punches, going to Liz’s chest first. Lotz knocks two good blows into Olsen’s chest and the brunette girl drops back. Caity quickly steps up, but Elizabeth saw her move the whole way and greets her with a hard right to the left cheek. Lotz momentarily stunned, blinks once, then takes a crushing hook to the jaw that swivels her head to the left and Caity is stumbling backwards as she looks to limit the damage from Lizzie. Brunette girl fakes high, Caity raises her guard slightly, and Olsen hammers home a left straight to Lotz’s midriff, making Caity wince. Caity dances around a bit longer, but it’s clear that she’s hurting from that last body shot, and at the end of the third minute, Elizabeth places a right square on Caity’s chin and the blonde girl goes into the ropes when the bell rings. Lizzie may have wanted another ten seconds, but she nevertheless wins the round.

Round 6:

For the first time this match, Olsen is the girl who is pressing the tempo to start with, relentlessly chasing after Lotz’s body with almost reckless abandon, as while she lands two shots to the blonde’s ribs, she takes a straight to the nose. Caity grimacing as she strings together three punches to Elizabeth’s chest, dropping the Fates girl backwards. Lotz stepping forward, dodging a right from Olsen, not wanting to get caught out twice, and Caity goes for a hammer blow – but she misses and almost bent double by a right from Elizabeth that the brunette buries into Caity’s body! Lotz audibly gasps and Lizzie fires three big rights into Caity’s beaten body and finds her solar plexus and down goes Caity Lotz! Blonde girl alternating gasping for air and gasping from pain as she’s facedown while the ref starts to count. By six Lotz gets her knees underneath her, but she just can’t beat the count as the official gets to ten. Your winner by KO6, Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

Elizabeth cracks a smile and briefly celebrates before checking in on Caity Lotz before leaving the ring.

“These past few months have been tough,” Olsen says, “But I’m coming back. I know everyone’s been focusing on Brie Larson as the Fates bantamweight, but I’m not done. Not by a long shot.”

A few minutes later, Lotz speaks to the press, “It’s frustrating, because I thought I had her until she got the body blows in late. On to the next one.”
