Before: First bout a close fought beaut between light and tight master boxers. Twain deeply humiliated by the stoppage, has made this a “must win” situation fro herself, guaranteeing a win in the press and on talk shows leading up to the extravaganza. Grey back in the spotlight has virtually limitless possibilities in front of her at 110 if she pulls off another win, Grey in grey cotton stretch pants to the ankle, grey cotton sports bra, white shoes, gloves, Twain in similar ensemble--red.

During R1: Shania stomps across the ring and begins bringing it from the get go, Exploding the hook off Jennifer’s jaw. Twain connects so hard and flush that she is able to go Roy Jones on Jen’s butt--landing a blurring series of hooks to bust open the eyebrow and batter grey to the ropes. All twain as she digs in, stepping side to side to rip hooks to the body, right hands on the chin--grey simply stunned, struggling just to cover up, Twain churning away with alternating uppercuts to the breasts  breaks down Grey’s resolve and in the final minute, it is a brutal bar room beat down, as Twain props blonde wit the left on the shoulder, slamming short right hands to the face to drive Jennifer weak-kneed to a corner. Furious round ends with Grey burbling in a daze as twain glares, refusing to back off until the ref steps in.

R2: Only bright spot for Jen is she’s still alive--and she builds on it with safety first boxing. Twain still going all out--literally looking to brawl, and Grey able to use the hook as a pivot, punching and moving left as Twain hurries in. Uncharacteristic lack of discipline as gets  potshotted on the way in, but she seems possessed with desire to punish , not box as yet.

R3: Calmer, more effective Shania Twain establishes the jab, ripping open the eye again, and working in a jarring hook in the teeth, Midway through the round, Twain with a spanking double hook around the guard has Grey hurt AGAIN , and Jen covers up to take a fearful beating to her ribs in around d her elbows. Grey with some tepid jabs down the stretch avoids the shutout, but she is looking haggard  after 3 tough rounds from Shania.

R4: Shania now looking Tapia-esque, pecking double jabs, staccato footwork getting her in in and out, moving effortlessly left and right while putting together combinations. Shania taking a lot off the fastball, content to buff Jen’s face with short jolting blows that always seem to hit the blonde before she’s ready.

R5: Little carelessness gets Shania hurt this round as midway through, Grey dips a shoulder and comes up whipping hooks to put wobble in Twain’s trunks for the first time. Grey finishing up strong on Shania’s body, working lefts and rights to the waist, touching Twain with the chicken wing elbow before snapping off biting combinations.

R6: Shania roars back, slugging intently none again, and getting it started with dazzling multiple hooks. After beating Jen ragged in a buzz-saw opening 30 seconds, Twain steps out and nails Grey a look away hook--dropping Jen in shock to one knee. Twain licking her lips, stares intently as Jen sucks it up at 8, then the brunette steams back in, ripping body shots to both sides, and coming up the middle with snapping uppercuts. Twain simply fearless, puts a horrible beating on Jen Grey this round, sending the blonde skidding in a drunken reel along the ropes on several occasions. Doctors check Grey during the break, and she is told “fight back, or we’re stopping this thing.”

R7: Grey answers like a champ, fighting on guts alone as she boxes Twain to a standstill this round. Jen with closed right eye, and badly swollen jaw, jabs persistently with Shania, and steos into competent hooks to keep the brunette at bay. Twain looking a little winded after a torrid pace--takes the round to regroup.

R8: Shutout Shania Twain as she gets back on Jennifer’s midsection, bending side to side to heft digging uppercuts into the blonde’s sternum. Grey crying out as Twain bullies her, and the blonde is mercilessly shoved to a corner and beaten down. Twain pawing with jabs. Moves in and out as Grey bobs pathetically, catching right hands on the breasts and teeth whenever Shania wants to hit them.

Jennifer Grey quits on her stool, shaking her head “no” in fatigue and discouragement. TKO8 Shania Twain.

After: Shania with a resounding, almost primal vindication of herself, beats the living daylights out of Jennifer Grey who sustains incredible punishment before failing to answer the bell. This was simply Twain gone buts, throwing more haymakers than jabs, pushing and bullying as much as dissecting her opponent, Shania almost sheepish in interviews afterwards, seems at a loss to explain the uncharacteristic fury.
