(Chimera vs Foxfire Boxing)

Intro:
Up now here in the Alamodome in Houston, Jennifer Lawrence and Mandy Moore both want to stay in the hunt for a welterweight title shot, who will emerge on top tonight?

Jennifer is 29 years old; she stands 5'8, holding a record of 32 wins, 29 coming by way of knockout, 25 defeats with 1 draw.

Mandy is 36 years old; she stands 5'10, holding a record of 31 wins, 22 coming by way of knockout, with 42 defeats, she is a former three time FCBA welterweight champion.

With Brooklyn Decker winning the FCBA welterweight title, the door is opening for some of the women who haven't had a title shot in the past year, sadly for J-Law and Moore they both have had a shot in the past twelve months, the goal then is to keep on top of things to be ready when they can get a shot.

Before the fight both women were interviewed at their stable gym, Lucy Liu went to them for the FCBA Network to promote the fight and get opinions from the fighters.

Up first Lucy stepped into the Chimera gym, Jennifer was doing weight training, lifting dumbbells as Charlize Theron watches over her, Charlize giving her five minutes to speak to Lucy as Jennifer nods her thanks.

"Hey Lucy! I have to tell you it's great to see you, Charlize is working me like a dog as usual" Jennifer says, sticking her tongue out at Charlize with a wink when she sees the GOAT stare hard at her.

Getting serious, Jennifer tells Lucy "I won't pretend I am not disappointed about what happened with Brooklyn winning the title, that rule is dumb in my eyes, hell when I kick the crap out of Mandy and more in the division, where is Brooklyn going to hide from me in a few months" wiping her brow with her right hand of sweat.

Asked about Mandy and how tough this fight will be, Jennifer admits "Mandy can hit, Charlize has told me how strong she can be, she is slow though and when I test that chin, I'm going to send her on her backside, I promos you that Lucy" fist bumping Lucy as they smile at each other, Charlize yelling at Jennifer to get back to train.

Heading into the Foxfire gym, seeing Rachel Nichols telling Mandy to work over the punch bag, Mandy pounding it with hooks, sending the bag side to side as she shows off her power, stopping to talk to Lucy.

While she hugs the bag with a smile, Mandy jokes "I won't be hugging Jennifer like this I promise you, I'm gonna knock the stuffing out that bytch" tapping the bag with a jab as she straightens up.

Rachel tells Lucy "Mandy is ready for J-Law, she has worked her butt off these past few months since she lost to Righetti last year, you'll see what a motivated Mandy looks like" Mandy nodding as she goes back to work on the bag.

Videoing the action, Lucy gets a rye grin from Rachel, as if the bag getting beaten says it better then either Foxfire girl can about what is going to happen to Lawrence.

Fight night; out first comes Jennifer with Charlize beside her, Jennifer looks in fight mode as her eyes are locked onto the ring, Charlize whispering into her ear something as Jennifer nods.

She is wearing a white sports bra, white trunks with black trim, "J-Law" on her waistband, black shoes and gloves, her blonde hair is tied back into a ponytail.

Climbing into the ring, Jennifer shadow boxes in her corner, before settling into her warm up routine as Charlize tells her to show up Mandy tonight.

Out comes Mandy now with Rachel behind her, Mandy blowing kisses to the crowd as she jogs down the aisle, looking excited to be fighting.

She is wearing a red sports bra with white trim, matching trunks, shoes, while her red gloves have white thumbs, her red hair is tied back into a ponytail too.

Stepping through the ropes into her corner, Mandy taps her gloves on her cheeks before banging them together, eyes locked on Jennifer as she gets serious.

Coming to the center of the ring, both fighters look the other over, grinning as they feel confident they can take down the woman in front of them, the coaches even lock eyes as certainly no friends here right now.

Told to touch gloves, they bump them with their opponent's hard, turning back to their corners with the crowd cheering for both, once everyone is ready, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Circling at the center of the ring, a jabbing exchange kicks off the fight, Mandy looking a little more static behind her jab compared to Jennifer bobbing and weaving around.

The jab of Mandy does enough to keep Jennifer back in the opening forty five seconds, with Jennifer looking for that big hook or uppercut, maybe over thinking things as she doesn't pull the trigger.

Till J-Law feints with a jab before landing an overhand right to the jaw of Mandy, knocking back the redhead as she opens up with a further left/right straight into the mouth of the redhead.

Back to the ropes goes Mandy, she covers up as Lawrence opens up on her with hooks to the body, getting groans from the older fighter.

Cuffing Jennifer to her ears with cross punches, Mandy gets her way off the ropes after nudging back Jennifer, looking to try to control the action after being pushed around.

Leading to both standing at the ring center to trade, going toe to toe in an grandstand finish to the opening round, the bell rings to end the round with both fighters turning to their corners, Jennifer grinning as she enjoyed that round.

Round 2:
Back out they come with another cagey start, though Jennifer has the speed advantage to dart inside and out with her jab, she clearly respects the power of her opponent.

Mandy steps back to dodge a right cross, burying a straight into her opponent's face; then as J-Law steps back, she drills a double jab into the face of the blonde to back her further up.

Starting to land more, Mandy is getting more aggressive, forcing hot blooded exchanges as heads get turned, her inside fighting on show as she bumps back Lawrence with her left, burying two body shots in to make the Chimera fighter groan out.

Finding herself now near the ropes, Jennifer comes swinging back, both let their hands go as they go hard, smacking cheeks in a hooking exchange that has the crowd standing and yelling for them both.

Taking a step back to dodge a left hook, Mandy bashes a straight into the nose of Jennifer to force her back to the ropes, Jennifer covering up as seconds tick away in the round.

Which comes to a close not long after, Mandy getting the thumbs up from Rachel, who tells her to keep out boxing Jennifer, they seem to believe she can bait the blonde in before countering her.

Round 3:
The action is heating up now, Jennifer throwing two to three punch combos when she steps inside, Mandy looking to bash back Jen with hooks and uppercuts when she does step in.

Ducking under a right cross after the opening minute, Jennifer catches Moore with an overhand left to her cheek, an uppercut knocks Mandy back to her heels.

Where she finds herself knocked back into a corner, Jennifer going back to the body as she rips in hooks, making Mandy wince, till back comes Mandy with a left/right straight into the face of the younger fighter.

That allows Mandy to get out the corner, she catches Jennifer with some crisp jabs and straight punches to the Hollywood stars face, keeping her to the outside for the next thirty seconds.

Till Jennifer times her attack better, slipping a right to bury an uppercut into the body of Moore, a left hook smacks the former champ across her face to get the crowd cheering.

Final seconds of the round sees Mandy shielding her face, Jennifer switched up down to land three short sharp digs to the body just before the bell ends the round.

Charlize looking happy with her fighter, telling Jennifer though "you are doing great, just be careful for her hooks OK? She isn't the quickest but hits like a mule when she lands flush" Jennifer nodding as she stays standing, keen to get back at Mandy.

Round 4:
Looking relaxed as she bounces side to side on her toes, Jennifer looks in her element as she digs in jabs to the body, dodging several straight punches aimed at her head, looking like a fighter in full control.

She even drills in some straight punches to the boobs of Mandy, making the Foxfire fighter hiss out as she doesn't like that.

A double jab into the face of Jen seems to halt her rhythm long enough for Moore to bury in a right to the nose of Lawrence, beginning to work her near the ropes.

Where with less room to work, Jennifer is being forced back into heated exchanges, Mandy leaning out the way of cross punches to counter with jabs and straights into the face of Jen.

Who tries to turn Mandy but they end up grappling, nearly falling into the ropes as legs get tangled up, referee breaking them up with a warning for them both to keep things clean.

Back in action now with thirty seconds to go, they nearly clash heads as they go toe to toe with hooks, things turning scruffy as shoulders and arms take as many hits as marked up cheeks do.

At the end of the round, Mandy pumps her right fist into the air, her fans whooping as they enjoyed that action packed round, Rachel even grins at her playing the show woman to the crowd.

Round 5:
Looking a little more serious, Jennifer is feinting more to draw Mandy in now, things turning into a chess match as they look for a big punch to turn this fight in their favour.

It comes as Mandy steps in with a jab that finds air, the dipped down Jennifer throws a hell of a right hook that looks pinpoint under the ribs of Moore, WHO STEPS BACK BEFORE SHE FALLS TO A KNEE HOLDING HER RIBS!

That looked a Theron special by Lawrence, who smiles at her trainer as she heads to a neutral corner, 1...2...3... Mandy is wincing as she cradles her body, 4...5...6.. Breathing hard as that punch seemed to take her energy from her, 7...8.. Spitting her gumshield out, it looks like Mandy is admitting defeat, 9...10 it is all over for Moore!

Winner Jennifer Lawrence KO Round 5

After:
A stellar win for Jennifer against a former champion, she is beaming as she raises her arms in the air, looking around at the cheering crowd as they stand, Charlize is even on the ring apron applauding her protégé.

While Mandy punches the canvas in frustration, that body shot sapped her energy and hurt her, Bernard Hopkins would have been proud of that shot as Mandy needs help to get on her stool, an ice pack needed to numb the pain around where she was hit.

The winner on the other hand cups her ears to the crowd, enjoying their love as Charlize takes off her gloves in their corner, Charlize joking "seems you finally took my advice on those body shots, they will help make you a champion" Jen smiling as she nods along.

After both women are cleaned up, they step over to the ring center, Mandy still holding the ice pack to her rib as she looks like she will be feeling that punch the next few days.

Getting her hand raised in victory, Jennifer looks to the heavens with her beautiful smile, soaking in the moment before she heads back to her corner.

Mandy leaves the ring with a little help from Rachel, she is told to keep her chin up as it took a peach of a punch to stop her in what was a competitive fight while it lasted.

Inside the ring Jennifer and Charlize are discussing the fight as they both smile, a few jokes between the old friends making them chuckle, before they step out the ring.

Jennifer signing a few shirts with her face on for those in the front row, Jen will be hoping this is her year to final bring home gold, can she add the remaining few pieces to her game to do so?
