TESS VALMORE

This was a excellent card with some great fights. You might say it was very successful.  Unfortunately for me it was an unmitigated disaster. In doing close to 3000 predictions since I started counting and more thousands before I started keeping records, I have never gone below 60% correct and even then, that was bad day. My record in this card wasn’t 60%. It wasn’t even 40%. It was 20%. I am going to hear about in from Fred, my boss at Tractorpull. I go into the office on briefly on Monday. He’s probably working himself into rage just waiting to arrive. Actually we had one big upset and three 50/50 bouts were I brilliantly managed to pick the loser in all three.

McNamara/Cole was the first bout and the only one that I got right. McNamara came from behind to flatten Cole in the sixth. I think McNamara is an up and coming flyweight. Since joining Fates, she is now won eight of ten. From what I have seen, I think the 24 year old has a bright future.

My pick of Palicki to beat Swift was stupid.  Palicki moved to welter to get away from the lightweights. She won the welter title, but guess what? Swift is a lightweight. Swift’s win was Palicki’s fifth straight loss to a top ten lightweight.  Swift survived a sixth round knockdown to flatten Palicki in the ninth. She then called me out. Well, she had reason to.

I picked Ridley to beat Olsen. Well, that didn’t happen. It lasted less than five when Ridley was counted out.

Have I told you how I hate those long hyphenated names that the English seem to love. I was hoping Kroes would win so I didn’t have to spell Huntingdon-Whitley more than once. Well, that didn’t happen. HW’s win didn’t change my mind of her abilities. I don’t think she could beat Kroes twice.

I didn’t predict the Azalea/Gillan fight. Azalea’s loss didn’t surprise me. How good in Gillan? I don’t have a clue right now.

I said before this fight, that I thought Hill was a real comer at lightweight, but I thought that Lively had too much experience. Wrong again. Hill won and I think she has the ability to take the number one lightweight spot at Front Street.

Like I said in the prediction I treat Jenner like I did Righetti. I will predict she will win until she doesn’t.   Well, in the title fight with DiDonato, she didn’t. DiDonato need a KO in the tenth round to win this bout. She got it.

Oops, my phone is ringing. It’s Fred. Pray for me.
