BEFORE:
It’s a battle of the songstresses as resident punk rock Queen Avril Lavigne goes up against the latest pop princess to be making her FCBA debut, Ava Max! This battle has been apparently brewing for a while now, with both singers trading barbs over Twitter and challenging each other to an official bout in the ring. Well, this here’s the result.

Ava Max seated at the press table, smiling confidently as her bleach-blonde hair cascades over her shoulders. For a brand new rookie, she speaks with a certain tone of haughtiness that’s been honed by many years of performing in front of thousands.

"Do I think I can beat Avril? Are you kidding? Why would I be here if I didn't think I could beat her? I watched all her recent fights, and I gotta say - I wasn't impressed. This might be my first official fight, but I've been training with an amazing team for months. I'm not here to be her target practice. I'm here to knock her overrated ass out tonight."

Strong words from Ava as the attention turns to Avril to respond. The resident Doll has had a rough start to her year with with two disastrous losses in a row to both Emma Roberts and Scarlett Johansson, but was able to bounce back recently against Sarah Carter. But according to the Canadian, all is well in her kingdom:

"Whateverrrr. I have NO idea why this b*tch challenged me or why she thinks she can last more than three rounds against me. I've knocked out WAY more experienced girls in one round! I guess when your music career is barely working out, you need other ways to stay relevant. But sure. I guess I could use the target practice. Got a REAL fight coming up soon against someone who deserves a lesson, but I guess I’m not too busy to kick your ass first tonight, Ava....." Lavigne giggles playfully.

Ladies size each other up at the podium: they’re both about the same height and built, which makes this an even-set match-up save for their vastly different experience in the ring.

Hours later, Ava’s music hits the stadium airwaves first, “Sweet But Psycho” blasting through the speakers as Max pounds out from backstage, dressed in a light blue sports bra and white long tights, white boxing gloves and long blonde hair in a bun completing her battle look for tonight. The American singer sure knows how to make an entrance as she gets plenty of support from the crowd here tonight!

Lavigne not to be outdone, however, comes out next, blasting her own brand of “What The Hell” as she strides down the ramp in her usual black and pink sports bra and fighting tights, hair in a high ponytail.

Referee spouts the rules in the middle of the ring as both girls set each other with deathly stares before returning to corners. HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!


ROUND 1:
Avril flies at Ava like the devil on steroids, throwing shots into the guard once the bell rings! The Doll has got something to prove, for sure, as she wails on the hapless rookie, making Ava squeal as she gets pushed back. Max in survival mode from the get-go as Avril bashes gloves to the side of her head, harder thumps to her tummy as she almost succeeds in trapping her against the ropes once or twice. Avril on the rampage here, wants to prove to the world that she deserves to be back in that winning column. Max on the other hand only succeeds in catching her once or twice on the face, but her insolence only makes Lavigne more enraged. Avril literally chases Ava down all the way to the bell, keeps on wailing on her till the referee has to pull her off despite the loud ringing of the bell in the background! Lavigne’s turn to shriek in rage, hurling insults like “HOW’D YOU LIKE THAT, b*tch?!?” even as Max is left slumped on the ropes, a poor showing for her debut round to the world of celebrity boxing.

ROUND 2:
Lavigne charges in again, smelling blood. It’s an expected strategy for the Doll, who wants not just to win but to win big and decisive. Max however is a little more prepared, skates out of the way and keeps moving to avoid the punishment. The American singer’s more aware of her surroundings this time, skirting left and right to avoid Avril’s rapid swings. Lavigne’s landing more jabs to her arms, but can’t quite score with heavier hooks this time. Mid-way, Lavigne curses out loud as she gets cuffed on the chin by a retaliatory jab, then another and another lands, as Max gets hella used to her foe’s timings before responding with artillery of her own. What’s this?? Ava’s actually doing some damage as she lands another one-two-THREE combo straight to the Avril’s nostrils, pushing the Doll backwards! Ava’s got some moves indeed, as Lavigne finds out the hard way! Avril suddenly on the retreat, shocked and awed as Max delivers knocks to her arms and more straight hands to the body, then deftly dodges around her return fire. Bell saves the Canadian this time round, with Lavigne cursing in frustration at the tables turned on her!

ROUND 3:
That’s what happens when you have two little speed demons set for on a collision course! Avril’s still rushing forward early, hoping to replicate her first-round dominance. But Ava just as fast and hitting a little harder each time she skitters in, bashes the Doll on the arms and lands another hook to the tummy before heading for the hills just as Avril fires a hook back. Lavigne’s stubbornness gonna be the death of her as she doesn’t want to give up her bone, chases Ava back towards the ropes, still swinging... but TILTS awkwardly to the side when her combo sails over Max’s head and the Queen EATS a sudden hook to the chin, which SENDS AVRIL SPRAWLING DOWN! Lavigne shattered to the face with that right swing outta nowhere, as she crumples to the ground at Max’s feet!! COULD THIS BE IT?!

Dollhouse corner in shambles themselves, throwing up their hands in disbelief! After promising to finish Ava in less than 3 rounds, it’s Lavigne who finds herself humbled at the rookie’s feet and she BETTER get herself up here or we’ll have ourselves a HUGE 3rd round upset folks ! Ava Max of course completely elated, jumping with joy as she runs back to her corner in the very first KNOCKDOWN of her career. Lavigne with a look of half-pain, half-rage as she grits her teeth and rises to her feet by the count of 8. Close shave there as she glares wholeheartedly in Ava’s direction, making clear to the singer that this fight is FAR from over.

ROUND 4:
Ava’s turn to step up her attacks, using her leftover energy to take the fight to the Queen this time! Avril weathers the punches, keeps her guard firm over her face as she takes small steps backwards, allowing Max to pepper her arms with jabs, her body taking a pounding too but it’s better than allowing for another complete embarrassment shock to her face. Mid-round has Ava turn up the heat even more, slamming a left glove into Avril’s ribs before aiming for the head with a right hook, but the American doesn’t expect Lavigne to duck under swiftly in turn before PLANTING her own fist into the base of her chin! SMACK!! Max certainly didn’t see that coming! Her head’s sent up and back, eyes squeezed shut as she struggles to retain her balance. Lavigne’s show in the final minute, steady movement forward as she pounds Max’s body with lefts and rights, pushing her back and making up for lost ground!

ROUND 5:
Anyone’s game here, but of course the fans are loving this clash between two wiley and wound up girls who come in small packages. They clash once more in the first minute, a wild exchange of punches sent both ways with gloves stuck in faces. They take turns pushing each other back, shrieking as their attacks get blunted by a return sock to the lips or blasting right hand sent across the face. Avril ultimately wins the melee, although at what cost, targeting Max’s already vulnerable chin, sticking in blows between the singer’s arms, snapping her head back and to the side repeatedly. Ava lets out another groan as she’s thrown backwards into the ropes, looking for salvation as she holds on for dear life. Lavigne wades in: uppercut to the body folds Max over before a final NAIL to the chin sends MAX UP AND ALMOST OVER!! Good lord! Lavigne without mercy as she almost THROWS the poor girl right over the ropes! DOWN MAX GOES, collapsing to her side by the singer’s feet… and no amount of counting is going to be enough for her to recover here! Referee hits the final count of 10 and waves this fight OVER!!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Ava Max via KO5!

AFTER:
What a comeback victory for Ms Lavigne, both after that shock knockdown in the third and of course, another win in her column to raise her 2020 record to a positive 3-2. Relief floods her face first, before that trademark, cocky smile breaks across her face. Immediately, the insults start flying at Ava across the ring, but make no mistake: the former Dollhouse Queen already made her statement, seeing no further need to rub in her win after disposing of Ava Max in the fifth.

Avril taking her time on her stool, leaning her back against her corner, still panting hard from the energy exerted in that last round, but does her best to answer the reporters flooding the ring.

“Yeah…she caught me in the 3rd round…everyone gets lucky sometimes...whatever…I’m tough. I’m a warrior. And I fucked her up! That’s the bottom line, nobody should care about the rest.”

When asked about her plans for the year, the blonde takes a huge gulp from her water bottle, but frowns right before her reply: “A lot of bitches I want revenge on are avoiding me…so we’ll see what happens…” She stops again to take another sip from her bottle, still panting. “I’ve got…Jenna Coleman coming up next weekend, but I want to f*ck up that b*tch Lily Collins who’s been dodging me for a long ass time…Hayden Panettiere, that nobody Jessica Lowndes….Scarlett….Watson…and obviously, Emma Roberts, who’s going to regret her life decisions the next time I get in the ring with her again. There’s a lot I look forward to this year…and it mostly involves kicking ass and getting my revenge!” the victorious blonde chuckles, wiping the sweat off her heaving chest with a towel before finally rising from her stool.

"Oh and you know what?". She remembers right before exiting the ring. "Maybe I'll finally get a title shot this year. I f*cking deserve it! I already beat Holt last year, and now she's somehow the champion? SO dumb!" Lavigne rolls her eyes before motioning to her team as she finally jumps out of the ring through the ropes, making her way backstage with her arms raised to the sound of the loud cheers from her fans filling the arena.

As for Ava Max, the losing debutant is already on her feet despite the battering she received mere minutes ago and seems to be in good spirit, despite the obvious disappointment on her face. The blonde is waving and smiling to the fans who are cheering her on despite her loss tonight. A good performance nonetheless for the rookie who managed to floor Avril in the 3rd. She may have lacked the ability to finish the job tonight, but we've seen plenty of talent and ability from the 26 year old singer tonight and we hope to see her again in a FCBA ring as soon as possible!
