Intro:
The opening fight of tonights card in Glasgow's SSE Hydro Arena sees Catherine Tyldesley and Laetitia Casta do battle.
Laetitia is 40 years old; she stands 5'6 ½ and holds a record of 71 wins, 49 by knockout, 61 defeats and 4 draws, she is a former 5 time FCBA lightweight champion, former FCBA welterweight champion and a former Queen of the Ice Hotel.
Catherine is 33 years old; she stands 5'7 and holds a record of 10 wins, all by knockout and 7 defeats.

The fighters were interviewed by Denise Van Outen on the BBU TV network in their studio, with Catherine first up to speak to her.
When asked how it feels to be fighting a legend, Catherine smiles and replies "Laetitia is a has been the way I look at it, I mean she has already retired and made a comeback, so having a lot of fights and titles on her record doesn't frightening to me one bit"
She is asked about what the fights means to her, replying "simple; I want a shot at the BBU title and getting revenge on my former stable, they made a mistake by cutting me for Joan (Smalls), I will get my chance with her"
While Laetitia looks relaxed as she sits and talks to Denise, she is asked about getting back into regular work lately after a lay off.
"Well I had unfinished business with Kelly Brook, while that didn't go as I hoped, it has got me into great shape and I feel I have one last big run in me" answers Laetitia.
She is asked what that means for her, Laetitia replies "I'd love big fights like when I fight Amanda Righetti, whose desperate for a win against me, she'll still be waiting is all I say on that, maybe another title run might be in my future"

Fight night, out comes Laetitia first with coach Micaela Schaefer by her side, she looks calm as she heads to the ring waving to the fans as she goes.
She is wearing a navy blue sports bra, matching trunks and shoes, with red gloves with white thumbs, her brunette hair is up in a ponytail.
Stepping into the ring; she bows to each side of the ring before she heads to her corner, limbering up with help from Micaela as they laugh and joke around.
Now out comes Catherine with her coach behind her, she stares at the ring and bangs her gloves together as she looks more serious of the two.
She is wearing a white sports bra, with matching trunks, shoes and gloves, "KO Queen" on her waistband in red letters, her blonde hair is in a ponytail too.
Climbing into the ring; Catherine nods to the crowd but settles into her corner quickly and begins her own warm up by shadow boxing.
Soon enough the fighters are waved to the ring centre, where they square up nose to nose and stare each other down.
When asked to touch gloves; they step back and nod as they touch gloves, knowing the other is here for a scrap, jogging back to their corners ready to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.

Round 1:
Out come both fighters with high guards, circling and trading probing punches to test the others reflexes out, it isn't long though till Catherine decides to take the fight to Laetitia.
The blonde bomber parrying a jab and stepping in to land a right to the ribs, followed by a left up top as she forces her opponent to take a step back.
Laetitia looking a little surprised by how aggressive Catherine is, trying to fight out her guard as Catherine takes the ring center and controls the action.
A missed right by Laetitia allows Catherine to land a left cross, Catherine pushes forwards with two more punches to the body of the French model to knock her towards the ropes.
Where Catherine forces a tense exchange, both women firing away for control; Catherine looks to win the exchange with two punches knocking the head back of Casta, forcing her back behind her guard.
Catherine bangs away to the body of Laetitia, making her groan out till Laetitia can shove Catherine's head back with her left and move into space.
The round ends with Catherine looking dominant from the off, something that makes her look relaxed as she heads back to her corner.
While Laetitia looks annoyed at herself, admitting to her coach that she was caught out there, which gets her coach telling her to make amends then in the next round.
Round 2:
Catherine looks to keep the pressure on Laetitia from the off, leading to Laetitia being knocked to the outside of the ring again by the quick starting English fighter.
But Laetitia leans out the way of a right hook, firing back with a double jab off the nose of the younger woman as she begins to move more.
Laetitia using her skills and experience; reading Catherine's attacks better to dodge and counter, leading to Laetitia getting a rhythm going with her punches marking up the face of her opponent.
Catherine does manage to nudge Laetitia towards the ropes with her left shoulder, where she lands two cross punches across the face of Casta.
Who pulls Catherine into a clinch; which forces the referee to step in and part them, Catherine looks to get back into the face of Laetitia, ending up missing with a left cross and taking an overhand right instead.
With Laetitia employing a stick and move style attack; making Catherine hunt her down and allowing her to control most of the action.
So as the round ends this time; it is Laetitia with a smile on her face as she knows she has set her own marker to work from now.
Round 3:
Both fighters look to take the early action, with Laetitia winning the early exchanges by ducking and countering Catherine's head hunting attempts.
Till Catherine is able to land a jab on the dipping down Laetitia's head, following with a right to the top of her head to force her into a retreat.
Catherine bullies Laetitia back onto the ropes with a jab and straight through her gloves, with her punches switching up to the sides of Laetitia's body.
Laetitia tries to match the intensity of Catherine on the inside, but she ends up getting struck across the face with a hard right that turns her head.
That forces Laetitia back behind her guard, which after Catherine fails to pierce through it, she goes back to the abs of her older foe, who needs to clinch up again.
Once they are pried apart; Laetitia has room to work and can be elusive again, making Catherine look annoyed as she dips under a straight and comes back with an uppercut that forces the actress to take a step back.
Now Laetitia tries to come back at Catherine, it just leads to a hard fought stalemate as both women slug it out in the center of the ring late in the round.
The bell rings with both women heading to their corners annoyed that they can't enforce their will on the other yet.
Round 4:
Catherine again comes out strong; catching Laetitia with a straight on her lips and a left across her face to drive her back onto her heels.
The English fighter forcing Laetitia around the ring near the ropes, with Laetitia needing to focus on her defence more then attack as Catherine comes on the front foot.
Catherine slips under a straight and lands to the abs of Laetitia with a right and follows up with an overhand left that knocks her back a step.
Laetitia needing to keep her guard tight up top as Catherine throws a flurry of punches, several burrowing their way through to land on the lips of the French star to knock her head back.
Shoving Catherine in desperation, Laetitia moves off the ropes and smartly tries to use her jab to try and keep the charging bull off her.
But Catherine parries a jab away and follows up with a left to the body, then a right up top to knock Laetitia back a step.
As the bell rings; Catherine nods to her corner as she clearly thinks she has the measure of Laetitia, who has blood running her bottom lips to show that Catherine might be right.
Round 5:
Laetitia looks on the defensive from the off; Catherine hunting her down as it is looking like the cat chasing the mouse around the ring.
The blonde bomber missing with a left cross, is made to pay by Laetitia who lands a right under the ribs of Tyldesley and a left to the abs.
Maybe Laetitia isn't in as bad a shape as Catherine thinks, the model trading single punches with the actress as they continue to fight around the ring.
Till Catherine swings in with a left hook that sails over the head of Laetitia, who lands a sneaky right across the jugs of Catherine and a left to the ribs.
But Catherine comes fighting back with a straight landing off the top of her opponents head, then follows with a left and right cross to knock Laetitia onto the ropes.
Where the fighters again let their hands go, both slamming their punches into the others body when Laetitia steps in close to Catherine, both rubbing heads together as they look to wear their opponent out.
It's Laetitia who changes tactic late in the round; stepping out of the inside fighting and catching the attacking Tyldesley to the face with a stiff straight off her nose.
The round ending with Laetitia coming back at Catherine, though her bottom lip continues to trickle blood down her chin, while both womens faces are marked up.
Round 6:
When Catherine looks to get into the face of Laetitia, she makes a mistake as she misses with a right cross and takes two punches square on the nose.
Laetitia's head and upper body movement are giving the blonde trouble as she keeps counter punching her.
It leads to Catherine getting hit on her chin with an uppercut, that puts her on her heels and suddenly Laetitia goes into predator mode.
Pounding her fists through the mitts of Catherine to knock her head back, with blood now running from Catherine's nose down her face.
Catherine needs to clinch up with Laetitia, both women taking a moment to breath as the referee steps in to break them apart.
When Catherine tries to step back inside, she is met with a straight onto her bloody nose, making her cry out and get caught by a left hook that knocks her back a step.
Suddenly it's Catherine forced to cover up on the ropes as Laetitia doesn't waste time up top, instead she thuds her punches into the body of the blonde, making her wince with each hit.
The bell rings to end the round with the crowd wondering whose going to win this see saw battle, both needing to be cleaned up by their coaches as they sit with bloody lower faces.
Round 7:
Both women measure each other up with their jabs to start the round, each knows now that they are in a real fight tonight and they don't want to make a mistake this late on.
As Catherine looks to throw more bombs, she misses with a left hook that Laetitia dips under, with an overhand right catching Catherine across her eye, a small nick opens up above it.
Now Laetitia has a target, moving around to Catherine's left and striking at that cut, soon it opens up more to give the blonde even more problems.
Her answer is to try to take Laetitia's head off with hooks; THEY ARE EASILY COUNTERED AS LAETITIA DODGES THEM BEFORE LANDING A RIGHT HOOK FLUSH ON THE CHIN OF CATHERINE TO SEND HER TUMBLING TO HER SIDE!
The crowd looks stunned as Laetitia heads to a neutral corner, 1....2...3 Catherine rolls to her back and blinks to try and clear her head, 4....5...6 Catherine stares up at the lights and spits her gumshield out, 7....8...9...10 as she is counted out!

Winner Laetitia Casta KO Round 7

After:
Laetitia's experience and skills may have been the reason she pulled this win out, but boy did she have to work hard to earn it.
Catherine is checked on by her coach, helped to sit up as she tells her coach that she felt that knockout punch alright, one Laetitia can definitely be proud of.
The crowd cheers as Catherine is helped up; though she is still on jelly legs it seems as her coach needs to act like a clutch to get her back over to her corner.
Both fighters need to be cleaned up and given a moment to get their breaths back, before they head to the ring center for the final announcement.
Laetitia smiles as her arm is raised, though she doesn't look keen to jump up to celebrate, instead just saying thank you to the fans cheering her.
While Catherine ruefully nods and with help, she leaves the ring knowing that one another night, she'd be having her head raised.
Instead it is Laetitia going into her big fight stateside with Righetti with momentum, but how much did this fight take out of her as she prepares for one of her biggest fights of her life?
