Joanna Krupa vs Natalia Vodianova

BEFORE: It's been a very busy month for Joanna Krupa, first she got married - yep, she really did - then she guided mini-me version named Sandra Kubicka into a come-from-behind victory over Stella Maxwell back on the Copacabana and tonight she wants to cap it all off by blowing the doors off fellow model Natalia Vodianova for BBU PPV glory! 

Poland vs Russia is an instant recipe for a proper grudge fight and Joanna's extended career over in the USA makes it even more obvious; Natalia's a household modelling name in her own right but BBU TV's Charlie Webster claims the Russian is frustrated - not to say jealous even - that Krupa receives the bigger cheer from the partisan crowd gathered in Cannes tonight. She hopes that the Warsaw native will struggle from jetlag but the older blonde laughs off those ideas and claims she's in the best shape of her life! That sounds improbable but no one can accuse Joanna of lacking confidence!

Round 1:
Natalia shows more swagger in the opening exchange and drives her mitts straight into Joanna's rack that catches the older blonde by surprise and drops her backwards while the Russian follows through upstairs. She lands a couple of crisp hooks up the middle before connecting with a flush hook on the temple that half-spins a sluggish foe to the side. Krupa struggles to match the Russian's high-tempo and yields real estate in a hurry while Natalia keeps stalking her; she tries to connect with another meaningful combo but lacks the final touch and skims off the high guard too often to make it happen. Still, she outworks the retreating Pole with ease and manages to keep her at bay which prevents any late comeback from the Lioness Club associate. Joanna's visibly upset over her cumbersome performance in the opener but it's Vodianova who gives her the proverbial bytch stare at the bell.

Round 2:
Joanna connects with the early hooking drive but Natalia's really going for it here on the French Riviera and she clocks the older blonde with another series on each temple that wobbles the Pole and leaves her stranded in the middle of the ring thereafter. Natalia barks in her efforts as she hauls in more uppercuts alas Krupa's earmuff guard withstands the test and allows the Pole to clinch her which drags the fight into an extended wrestling show come the second minute. Joanna's a very stubborn woman so she refuses to obey to the referee's calls but Vodianova still makes her pay when she sinks a harpoon into her navel and then clips her on the jugs again. Both models square off in the center of the ring again but this time Natalia gets picked off with a right-on-right and soaks up a late uppercut rally that sits well with the French audience. Joanna remains the crowd favourite here and lets her rival know it as they exchange words before the ref finally separates them.

Round 3:
Natalia has dominated most of the action thus far but she hasn't really hurt the Polish model according to Charlie Webster and she can't properly enforce her presence anymore in the early stages of the third. Joanna scampers across the sand to beat the younger blonde for the initial punch and she delivers a nasty cross hook on the nose that makes Vodianova wince in pain on the spot. Ugh! A quick follow up clips her jugs and suddenly Krupa forges ahead with more half-uppercuts in phone booth-like stance. Natalia drops to her heels but gets stuck in the sand and almost rolls her ankle while Joanna WHACKS her on the nose again to send the Russian's gloves south... Uh-oh! Natalie remains trapped on the front leg and she can't deke away from a left hook that tears into her brow ridge followed by a right hand on the ear...  AND DOWN GOES VODIANOVA!!! The audience errupts in joy and it's a disaster for the younger blonde who seemingly had the bout under control until this point. She recovers at eight but looks stunned more than anything else; Krupa doesn't care about that whatsoever and ploughs through to connect with the rack which is enough to reel the aching Russian back to the ropes where Joanna rains more cruel punches to the body and sinks the embattled blonde on jelly knees. There's no escape for Natalia anymore however the bell comes to the rescue and the referee has to drag an otherwise furious Pole off her prey before it's too late.

Round 4:
Joanna simply can't wait for the action to resume and Natalia looks very slow off her stool which aids the Polish stalking wholesale. The Miami-based model runs across the sand to immediately trap the younger blonde into another body-busting series that Natalia simply cannot embrace at this stage. She yelps in visible pain as she gets belted from both sides and Krupa almost head-butts her in the proces as well. She dumps the Russian onto the ropes where she keeps carving bruises all over her midsection and Vodianova doesn't have the strenght to even clinch her nemesis, SHE DROPS TO HER KNEES when Krupa drills one blow on the liver area too many and allthough she wants to make another recovery, she remains on her knees when the count reaches ten. Blunt force to the liver does it again! KO4 Joanna Krupa!!!

AFTER: Joanna's ready to pose for the cameras and kicks extra sand over the kneeling Russian but she hasn't really delivered a true beatdown here in Cannes tonight. Natalia's punching resistance proved to be very much under par and she might have indeed rolled her ankle as she limps back to her corner when the verdict is announced. Joanna doesn't buy this potential excuse and claims she spooked the Russian with raw power instead: "She knew I'm gonna punch her lights out so quit this fight in the end! Ankle injury my ###! She's a quitter, all these Russian gals talk too much and then they do nothing when it comes to real boxing! What is going on with Irina Shayk for example? Another Russian quitter who pretends to be sooo busy with her lingerie photoshoots! Nevermind, I came here to WIN and I got the WIN! Where do I sign for the extra money bonus?" (laughs).
