CELEBRITY BOXING AFTER DARK

Cierra: 25 YO, 5’1 (1.55 m), FCBA Debut, Latina Knockouts

Danielle: 20 YO, 5’3 (1.60 m), 5-4-0, 5 KO since 2019, Foxfire Boxing

Before: Cierra Ramirez seems eager to go as she speaks to the press before her debut fight:

“I am very excited about this, but at the same time I am very serious and determined to win. I know I am at a size disadvantage against Danielle, but I can tell you I have been sparring against partners who fit her physical size. I am not intimidated by her and I know what I have to do to beat her. I just want to get on to it!”

Danielle Rose Russell takes this all calmly: “I am sure she does feel prepared to fight me, but sparring with someone of my physical type isn’t the same as fighting the ‘Real DRR’. I have been working hard to establish myself in the Flyweight Division. There is a real crowd at Flyweight and it seems to get bigger every week. I can’t afford to lose ground. I need to win every fight I’m in and that includes spoiling Cierra’s debut.”

“I’ll take the chance,” Cierra says proudly.

“You will be,” Dani said with an edge to her voice as though irked at the petite rookie’s confidence.

The fighters soon approach the ring and remove their robes. Cierra is in a black bikini with black gloves and boots (white laces). Danielle is in a royal blue one piece suit with black gloves and boots (blue laces). The two look each other coolly. DRR is small a 5’3, but with a fuller figured body. Cierra is 5’1 , small is size, but with a dynamic aura about her. Cierra moves in on Dani just to make it clear her “larger” (a relative term, of course) opponent can’t intimidate her physically. Referee tells them to settle down and they do step back to dutifully listen to the ring instructions. That done, they tap gloves and walk briskly to their corners. They await the bell, Cierra shadow boxing a bit, Dani just standing there alertly waiting. The bell comes and the fighters move out of their corners….

R1: Cierra showing good speed and mobility for a rookie as she moves in quickly on Danielle and starts circling around her as she fires a steady stream of punches. DRR being hit to body and head seems a bit slow in reacting to the rapid-fire attack. Dani taking a lot of punches before she can get her jab going. However the jab slams hard into Cierra’s face and knocks her back on her heels. DRR now goes to Cierra’s abs with a barrage of hooks. Impacts double Cierra up and send her stumbling backwards. Dani looking to seize control of the round as she starts forward, but Cierra ducks under a Dani right to slam a right uppercut into the auburn-haired beauty’s chin. Dani goes rubbery legged and Cierra now swarms in with punches into Dani’s belly and breasts. Danielle lashes back with her jab, but can’t seem to get the smaller dynamo to back off. Punching down to the bell. Judges give the edge to Cierra Ramirez as the newcomer wins her first FCBA round.

R2: Danielle now out much faster this round and starts slamming beefy leather into Cierra. Cierra ducks away, but then quickly comes back in with lightning strikes to Dani’s chin and jaw. Dani responding with hooks to Cierra’s body. Cierra trying to stay upright from these impacts and slow Dani down with more blows to the head. Dani now tries to corner Cierra against the ropes, but Cierra now pounding back at Danielle’s impressive (34 D) rack. Dani falls back a few steps, but then comes back with hooks to the belly that finally double Cierra up and thrust her against the strands. However before Danielle can take full advantage of Cierra’s plight, the bell rings and Dani has to back off with a frustrated look on her face. Cierra looks a bit green around the gills as she leaves the strands and heads for her corner. Cierra able to make the round close, but Danielle Rose Russell still won it.

R3: Danielle right back on Cierra once more as soon as the bell rings for the new round. Dani using her size advantage to get close to Cierra and try to neutralize her mobility. Dani banging her blows mainly to the newcomer’s body, but enough to the head to keep Cierra uncertain of where the next punch would be headed. Cierra really getting shelled to the body and she has to finally pull back to catch her breath. DRR moving to pursue and rings Cierra’s bell with a right/left off the sides of her head. Cierra is left dazed and this is all Dani needs to power Cierra into the ropes. Cierra being banged hard as she huddles against the strands able to protect her face, but letting her body get worked over as she shudders and gurgles. Remarkably, Cierra, battered as she is, has not fallen by the time the bell rings. Danielle steps back looking exasperated that she couldn’t seem to break her smaller opponent to the body. Cierra sees this exasperation and gives the bigger girl a defiant grin. Dani scowls and marches to her corner. Cierra not exactly marching to her corner, but she manages to make it before collapsing onto her stool. Round goes wide to DRR.

R4: Danielle on the attack as soon as the new round gets going. DRR going to the head at first, but her real interest in working over Cierra to the body once more. Cierra’s getting more evasive now and while Dani’s blows are landing, they aren’t having the impact they did earlier. Dani moving to try to cut Cierra off with the obvious intent to getting her against the ropes for another body busting beating. However Cierra is not so easy to corral. Dani then strikes at Cierra to the head to slow this down, but she is lunging forward to try to do this. Cierra times one of these lunges and ducks under Dani’s incoming right and brings her own right hammering into Dani’s chin. Dani is caught flush by the chin shot and staggers back in distress. Cierra now leaping forward slamming rights and lefts into Dani’s jaw. DOWN GOES DANI! Danielle Rose Russell dropped onto her bottom and sits there with a stunned expression. Cierra lets out a whoop of triumph and scrambles to the neutral corner. Referee moving in to count. Dani looks up woozily at the official and realizes she’s in trouble. Dani struggles to her feet barely able to stop the count at “NINE!” Referee seems doubtful at first, but Dani insists she can go on. Referee waves Cierra back in and she wastes little time in resuming her attack on Danielle. Dani just going face I gloves and hanging on to the bell. Cierra struts happily to her corner having snatched what seemed to be a sure Russell around away and winning it herself.

R5: Foxfire corner crew gets Danielle out for the new round, but she looks sluggish and defensive as Cierra closes in on her. Dani seems to be trying to protect her head and face so Cierra now has pretty much a free hand to slam punch after punch into Danielle vulnerable body. Dani whacked hard to the belly with hooks which tip her forward and then those big overhanging breasts come under attack. Dani can’t take it much longer and tries back away, but then Cierra sinks a wicked hook into Dani’s belly and a shock wave goes through Dani’s body. Dani’s knees start to give way as she sags forward. Dani’s gloves fall away from her head and Cierra slams home left-right uppercuts to the chin. DANI’S KNEES HIT THE CANVAS AND SHE TOPPLES ONTO HER SIDE. Cierra looks down at the curled up ball of pain that is Danielle Rose Russell and trots to the neutral corner. This time there is no rising to break the count, DRR is still curled up and moaning as the official declares:

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”

THE WINNER CIERRA RAMIREZ DEFEATS DANIELLE ROSE RUSSELL KO5!

After: Cierra Ramirez surrounded by her Latina Knockout teammates Becky G, Raquel Pomplun, and Natalie Martinez as trainer Roselyn Sanchez looks on approvingly. Cierra has her gloves removed and then hastens across the ring to where Danielle Rose Russell is recovering in the Foxfire corner.

“You’re coming with me!” Cierra announces to a glum Dani and pulls to her feet.

“You thought I was some skinny little rookie you could break in half, but broke you and your plushy body,” Cierra said as she dragged the unhappy Dani around the ring.

“Just shut up!” Dani groans.

“Admit, Russell, you underestimated me. Come on, admit it!” Cierra urged.

“You were tougher than I expected—you happy with that?” Dani finally responds.

“You won’t be the last girl who does that and you won’t be the last I teach how wrong they were,” exults Cierra.

DRR just groans and tries to act like she doesn't care, but tears ae running down her cheeks.

“Don’t cry, Dani,” Cierra whispers, “some day you’ll be able to tell people you were the first to lose to me and they’ll be a lot more of them by then!”

“Enjoy this while it lasts, because you really can’t win them all,” Dani says.

“I certainly will and I plan on winning a whole lo of my fights. Just you wait and see,” Cierra said as they completed the circuit and Cierra returned Dani to her Foxfire minders.

“This is not over between us,” Dani warned.

“I wouldn’t have it any other way. See you around, Dani Russell!” Cierra said and strolled away.

Very good debut for Cierra Ramirez. She proved she can take a beating and give it right back to win a fight. Of course, there are a lot more experienced Flyweights out there so we’ll have to see how Cierra does against them, but she is off to an encouraging start. Not a happy outing for Danielle Rose Russell, but she’s still at .500 (5 wins, 5 losses) and that’s more than a great many young flyweights can say. We’ll have to see if she can bounce back from this setback and her record indicates she probably can. In summary, good night for Cierra Ramirez and the Latina Knockouts, a disappointing one for Danielle Rose Russell and Foxfire Boxing.
