Taylor Swift versus Amanda Cerny (Results: Lookout, Story: Fates)

Taylor Swift: 30 years old, 5’11,” 45-19 since 2009, Fates Boxing

Amanda Cerny: 28 years old, 5’7,” 7-5 since 2018, Holloway Boxing

Before:

“I know Amanda’s recently come onto the scene and has been a hot commodity. She beat Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima before she even reached her tenth fight.” Swift begins, “But I’m sorry, these brunette models are not in my class, and I’m going to prove it.”

Cerny’s response is equally biting, “Well, that’s easy for you to say, only recently actually doing something with your career. And you still lost to Emily DiDonato, one of these brunette models you supposedly look down upon. It’s about time the rest of the lightweights set you straight.”

Taylor merely rolls her eyes. We’ll just have to wait for the fight to see whether or not Swift can back up her talk.

Amanda Cerny is the first girl to make her way to the ring at the event, wearing a green sports bra with matching gloves and black trunks, her hair in a ponytail for the fight. Taylor Swift soon makes her way through the ropes and takes off her robe to reveal a deep purple sports bra that matches with both her trunks and her gloves, as well as the hair tie keeping her hair up in a bun. The ref gives out final instructions and asks the fighters to touch gloves. Cerny extends her mitts and Swift takes a second to pause before reluctantly touching gloves with her opponent. The girls back off and the ref calls for the bell.

Round 1:

Straight out of the gate, it’s a contrast of styles. Swift jabbing away with her long reach while Cerny looks to dart in and out, hitting and running against the taller girl. And early on, Amanda is having success with that strategy – most of Swift’s recent opponent have actually come close to the towering blonde in height and didn’t have the speed that Cerny does. The brunette glamour model dodges the blonde’s jabs and gets two punches into Swift’s ribs, then backs off as Swift swings with a left that only hits the air. Cerny darts back in, tags Swift’s chin with a right, and drops back as Taylor connects with a right hook that knocks Amanda off balance, her arms flailing out and Taylor pounces. The blonde singer starts slinging those famous right and left jabs into the brunette’s head and body, quickly working her into the ropes where Swift works her into the ropes, where the singer hammers lefts and rights into Amanda’s body before the brunette wraps up the blonde, forcing a break. Taylor continues to work her jab out of the break, but can’t get the same kind of advantage before the round ends. The singer takes the opening frame on points, wide.

Round 2:

The blonde singer opens the second by continuing her strategy in the first, using her substantial reach advantage to strike out at the shorter Cerny. Taylor connects with a right jab to Amanda’s mouth early on, forcing the brunette to give up ground. Swift pursues her opponent, firing off punches at Cerny, landing two good body blows before she shifts her focus back to Cerny’s head with two straights. Amanda blocks Taylor’s blows with her guard before stepping forward and throwing a right hook that catches Taylor in the jaw. Cerny quickly follows up with a left to Swift’s nose and the singer has to bring her guard up as she retreats. Amanda minimizes the distance between herself and Taylor, pumping short but quick blows into the blonde’s body. Swift tries to respond but Cerny’s proximity jams the singer, and Taylor is forced to wrap up to force a break. After the two are separated, Swift looks to reestablish her jab while Cerny goes back to the counter, tagging the blonde’s body after dodging the straights to end the round. Amanda Cerny levels everything up by winning the round on points, wide.

Round 3:

Unsurprisingly, the third once again sees the contrast of styles come to the fore in the first minute, with Taylor jabbing out, but more cautiously than before, while Amanda uses her speed to move out of the way and strike the singer back. The first minute is a stalemate, with neither girl able to get a distinct advantage. As the second minute begins, Taylor starts stringing together more offensive moves, jabbing more frequently and positioning herself to corner Amanda. Swift splits Cerny’s guard with a straight right and works the brunette into the ropes where the blonde works her body until Amanda counters with another right to Swift’s jaw, leaving the blonde with a stunned look on her face. Taylor recovers quickly, but Amanda slips a left into Taylor’s chin before going to Taylor’s ribs, working the singer backwards. Swift starting to get some punches back in response, but Cerny hammers two rights into Swift’s mouth home after feinting body just before the bell. The judges confer and determine that Amanda came out ahead, close.

Round 4:

Cerny comes out strong to start the fourth, getting in close to Swift and hitting the blonde’s ribs before backing off as Swift responds with a right counterpunch that Cerny dodges. The two girls start circling each other, Taylor throwing out jabs to keep Amanda’s distancing honest, but the glamour model dives in after the singer’s blows, slowly working away on Taylor’s body. Swift slowly yielding ground as Cerny continues to find punches during the first minute until Taylor takes a big step backwards and plants her feet. Amanda steps forward, fakes left – and Taylor drills her with a straight left to the chin. Cerny instinctively covers up and saves herself from two big punches from Swift, but the brunette gives up her body in the process and Taylor notices, plunging leather into Amanda’s torso. Cerny stays strong and starts to time Swift’s blows and fights back against the bigger girl even as she gets working backwards and into the ropes by the bell. Cerny may have had the upper hand in the first minute, but Swift’s resurgence gets her the round, close.

Round 5:

Taylor Swift gets out of her corner like a shot out of a cannon and she goes on the offensive, catching Amanda by surprise with a big straight right. Cerny drops back as Swift pursues her around the ring, landing the blows to the brunette’s body. Amanda plants her feet and lands a one-two to Taylor’s mouth, halting the blonde in her tracks, and Cerny steps forward to go to work on Swift’s body only for Taylor to blast her with a right to her chin and Cerny wobbles slightly! Taylor buries a right into Amanda’s midriff and the brunette winces as she gets her guard up just before Swift turns her attention back to her head, but Taylor splits Amanda’s guard with her first punch, connecting with the model’s nose. Cerny has a stunned look plastered onto her face as Swift breaks down her guard with another punch and then connects with an uppercut that drops Amanda to the canvas! Taylor slowly saunters over to the corner while the ref counts over Amanda. Cerny stirs as her eyelids flutter, but she’s not going anywhere as the referee gets to ten. Your winner by KO5, Taylor Swift!

After:

Swift wastes no time taking her gloves off and mounting the ringpost to pose for the crowd, the 30 year old yelling, “Who’s next?” before she struts around the ring, not even bothering to check in on her fallen opponent before heading out to talk to the press.

“I think it’s quite simple, really - I’m better than the other girls in my division.” Taylor tells the press after her victory. “I know Fates and management thinks that there is plenty of elite competition in the division, but none of these girls can hold a candle to me.” Swift pauses and the media starts asking Taylor questions as the blonde singer quickly answers the one question on everyone’s mind. “And I will beat Emily when we meet in the ring again. You can take that to the bank.”

With that, Taylor storms off, and a few minutes later, Amanda Cerny swings by.

“All I’m going to say right now is that Taylor was the better fighter tonight. Tonight. And so I’m on to the next one.” Cerny’s curt soundclip is all that she provides before she walks away with her trainers.
