Intro:
The penultimate fight in the first round of the European Cup sees Clara Alonso taking on Elsa Hosk, the National Stadium in Dublin is the sight of this battle between two stunners wanting to make big statements in their career.

So far this year Elsa has been the one starting to make waves, winning two of her last three fights, Clara hasn't seen much action since the turn of the year, making some think Elsa should make it through this one to face the winner of Sara Sampaio and Cara Delevingne.

Of course Clara will have something to say about that, she has the more experience between them, another even coin toss when it comes to who is more physically better.

The day before the fight both women went on stage for the press event, each fight taking it in turns to go and take about their bout, Clara and Elsa looked a little uneasy around the other, knowing before a word is spoken how important a win is for them.

It's Clara asked what this tournament means to her first, she smiles as she says "it means I can proudly say I am the best in Europe, I have been with the Sirens a few years now and I want to give them as much as my country something to smile about"

The question then goes to Elsa, who answers "well when Clara talks about stables, I just got released by mine just over a week ago, so I am more in this to prove a point to them, they made a mistake and I wonder how shocked they will be when I am the one lifting that trophy over my head"

Clara looks a little sheepish bringing up stables, maybe realising she doesn't want to give Elsa any more motivation going into this, she tries to switch the subject by telling the press "I forgot one thing to add on my speech, I want to face Nina (Adgal) in the final, I owe her an ass kicking for the last time we met in the ring, I hope she can keep up her end of the bargain as I will" making Elsa shake her head.

"Honey you won't get past me, I'd suggest getting yourself ready for pain because I have plenty of anger I need to release and your face is the ideal punch bag right now" Elsa tells the Spanish woman, who sees she is just annoying Hosk.

Though it seems to sink in that she has no reason to care what Elsa thinks, telling her "if you think you can bring it then show me bytch" their coaches rushing to keep the fighters apart as clearly things are about to explode on stage, leading off separate sides.

Fight night; out comes Clara with her coach Henry Carvill beside her, she has the Spanish flag draped over her shoulders as she marches down the aisle, an intense look on her face as she has a point to prove.

She is wearing a yellow sports bra, red trunks with red trim, red shoes, red gloves with yellow thumbs, while her hair is tied into a ponytail.

Getting inside the ring, Clara drapes the flag over her top turnbuckle in her corner, settling into her warm up as she is told not to be worried about Elsa, just focus on her boxing.

Out comes Elsa now with her coach beside her, normally she is in a cheerful mood but she looks serious tonight, talking to her coach as they walk down to the ring.

She is wearing a light blue sports bra with yellow trim, matching trunks and shoes, blue gloves with yellow thumbs, while her hair is also tied back into a ponytail.

Stepping foot into the ring, Elsa heads to the ring center to acknowledge the crowd with her right arm in the air, nodding to the fans before she heads off to her corner.

The fighters come to the ring center, where they lock eyes as the referee goes through their instructions, coaches rubbing their fighters shoulders to keep them loose.

They swipe their gloves with their opponent, then head back to their corners with final instructions from their corner teams, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of lightweight action.

Round 1:
Banging their gloves together as they come out their corners, they are up on their toes circling trading jabs and straights to start off, eyes burning holes through their opponent.

Ducking down to dodge a jab, Clara lands in two right hooks before she takes a cuffing left across the top of her head, the early aggression coming from the Spanish fighter.

Who is keeping in close to work, forcing the action as Elsa is trading hard shots with her opponent, both slamming in several punches across the others cheeks, it is Elsa though being forced to the outside of the ring.

Past the half way point of the round, Clara takes a double jab onto her mouth, a right cross wards her back as Elsa gets off the ropes back into space.

The Swedish woman is starting to get some rhythm going, drilling in several clean punches to the top of Clara's head to keep her at range, moving more side to side so not to be easy to bully back.

Clara lands an overhand left late in the round, two follow up straights knock back the blonde towards a corner, the bell rings before she can pin her in there.

A strong start for the Spanish fighter as she sits on her stool, smiling as Henry tells her that was a great start, especially as Elsa look annoyed that she got pushed back so easily in the round.

Round 2:
Moving more around the ring firing out double jabs, Elsa seems to be landing better punches behind that jab now, getting the range where she wants in the opening thirty seconds of the round.

But Alonso ducks under a right to pound in two hooks to the body, just not quite landing flush with the uppercut as Hosk is pushed back to her heels.

Both are fighting hard as Elsa is being pushed along the ropes, punches slam into the others beautiful faces, knocking heads back as the fans are loving this.

Elsa pulls her opponent into a clinch, both try to be sneaky with punches to the others kidney's, the referee breaks them up, warning them to keep it clean.

With a minute to go Clara tries to dip down to move inside, Elsa moves back a step before landing a left/right cross punch combo to the top of the brunettes head.

An uppercut next time catches Clara on her chin, back goes Alonso as she eats four clean punches to her face, each seems to be hurting her as she cries out.

The round ends with Elsa smiling as she heads back to the Empress corner, her coach telling her to outbox Clara, she is there for the taking in their eyes.

Across the ring Clara is being told to be careful, not to try rushing in as she has been doing, eyes locked onto her opponent as she stands up.

Round 3:
Moving back out their corners to meet at the center of the ring, Clara looks open as she tries to swing in a left cross early on, instead she misses before taking an uppercut flush on her chin.

There's a definite wobble to the knees of Clara, Elsa stepping in to land a further two left hooks that make Clara stumble towards the ropes, A RIGHT HOOK ACROSS THE JAW SENDS CLARA DOWN TO HER SIDE WITH A THUD!

Not much celebrating from Elsa, she looks almost like that was simply expected for her, 1...2...3...4.. While Clara is looking dazed as she gets to all fours, 5...6...7.. Trying to get up she stumbles back to her bum, 8...9...10 where she looks at the referee till she is counted out!

Winner Elsa Hosk KO Round 3

After:
Absolutely pinpoint with her finishing punches, Elsa puts her arms out to the side as if to say "are you not entertained by that" her smirk showing she loved that knockout.

Returning to her corner, Elsa fist bumps and high fives her coaches as they tell her how wonderful that was, the Sweden fans in the crowd going wild for their girl.

Compared to Clara who looks simply dumb struck by what happened, she sits staring at her feet as she comes fully back to reality, Henry trying to console her by saying it was a lucky punch that caught her, though both know it wasn't.

Helped to her feet, Clara is still told by her supporters that they love her, though she is tearing up as she continues to look at the canvas in embarrassment at what happened.

Elsa not helping as she struts to the ring center to get her hand raised, staring straight at Clara as it happens, telling her "I told you I'd hurt you" laughing when she sees Clara hide her face in her hands, sobbing her eyes out.

Henry helps Clara out the ring, putting an arm around her shoulder while telling her "you have to keep your chin up, come back stronger from this defeat" with Clara looking like she is barely listening.

Inside the ring Elsa poses proudly for the cameras with her coaches holding up a Sweden flag behind her, she grins at the camera while her arms are flexed.

This win turning her blues she has felt over the past two weeks into a beaming smile, maybe the beginning of her redemption story from cut to champion.

Before she leaves the ring with her crew, looking forwards to the quarter final against either Sara Sampaio or Cara Delevingne, hoping at the very least she can have a good run through the tournament, more importantly wanting to bring it home for her new stable.
