Results: Lookout!; Story: Caspian & The Dollhouse

BEFORE:
Avril lets out a laugh from her place at the press table after a reporter asks her the most nonsensical question of the evening:

"Why are people acting like I should be worried about this fight? Kat's a total newbie and despite her "impressive" record…” Avril belittles the Fates rookie with full-on air-quotes. “...she's basically lost ALL her fights against the top girls. And guess what bitches? *I'M* a top girl.” The blonde pauses for emphasis, a proud smirk on her face. “So you guys can guess what's going to happen tonight. I don't really care how young, fit or tall she is… I'mma f*ck her uuuuppp!" Avril laughs, back to her jovial, confident self even after those painful losses to Johansson and Roberts at the start of the year.

Katherine of course is trying to remain calm from her own seat at the table, tossing her flaming, auburn hair to the side on occasion to try and hide her nervousness. The Fates Boxing starlet’s has a running start off some impressive wins herself, recently knocking out the one and only Cheryl Cole and ex-JMD champ Natalie Alyn Lind.

“I know this is a big night for me. I’ve beaten some excellent fighters already, and Avril obviously has a stellar record of her own. She’s established herself in this division and defeating her tonight will definitely prove to me and to the naysayers that I’m capable of reaching the very top. Like my trainers have been reminding me, I’ve got all the physical advantages one could ask for in this fight – All I need to do is execute and I’ll be fine. It’s a test for me, but Avril should be worried – I’ve beaten Cole and Lind back to back, and there’s a lot more riding on her shoulders than on mine. I’m ready for you Av!”

Not more to say as the jittery Kat takes the stage with the always-explosive Avril, who can’t unhear what her opponent just said to her, as she continues to show no respect to McNamara throughout the rest of the press conference and photo shoot, giggling and rolling her eyes at the mere thought of the newbie being a threat to her. The girls answer a few more questions from the press before retiring to their dressing rooms in preparation for the fight.

Hours later, its fight time! Katherine enters the arena first, a confident smile on her face as the impressively fit and lean Fates Boxing starlet strides down the ramp in a black satin robe. On her hands are matching dark blue gloves and her long blonde hair is tied in a neat ponytail. Later in the ring, she draws cat calls as she effortlessly enters through the ropes and unrobes in full view of the audience, revealing a tight neon yellow sports bra and dark blue tights, along with the rest of her toned body. Avril enters next, all smiles and already clad in her battle gear – a black sporta bra and matching pink-black tights with matching gloves, hair in a high ponytail with one hand raised high to acknowledge her loyal ‘subjects’ in the crowd, chanting her name.

The Canadian singer will have plenty of experience on her side, for sure, but it might be up to Katherine’s youthful energy and physical superiority to tip the scale in her favour. Referee calls the match to order, announcing both girls’ names before asking them if they’re ready to rumble. With a mutual nod, HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Avril is still aggressive as hell, moving in and trying to control the early space, maybe intending to spook the redhead newcomer by not giving her much room to manoeuvre, all the while hounding her head with sporadic jabbing. Katherine warned of these aggressive tactics before she stepped into the ring, but still has trouble processing it as she gets hit to the face repeatedly, controlled early by the Doll, with Avril content to plug leather in from afar or going after the redhead’s body with wicked combos that disrupt McNamara’s already fragile confidence. Katherine really looks like Bambi in there as she lets out yet another yelp! after taking a stiff blow to the side of the head. By the time the bell rings, we’re starting to question those rumours that McNamara was the next best thing since sliced bread. Kat has no choice but to return to her corner in a slow walk of shame, getting berated by her trainer that she needs to do more in there if she wants to win this.

ROUND 2:
Katherine plays it a little smarter, attentively, as she goes running backwards or to the side whenever Lavigne charges at her like a bull on steroids. The Doll’s still making progress here but that last bit of her many thrown combos has difficulty actually landing due to Katherine’s distance. By contrast, McNamara enjoys some success: plants her gloves back into Avril’s stomach, then rocking her guard, using her long jab to sneak in grazes across the cheek or lips, occasionally even taking a swipe at the blonde’s belly. Avril looks confused for a moment, a gurgle from lips as she wonders when the tide actually turned against her this round.

ROUND 3:
And there you have it: more tummy-tucking action as Katherine very obviously switches her sights, going after Avril’s vulnerable midsection instead. Lavigne tries initiating another blow-for-blow melee in the center of the ring, but the Doll didn’t expect McNamara to slide in and under one of her scorching hooks, then plug her in the belly one more time. Avril, left too shocked to do much else, gets her face turned to the side by another knockout hook. But Kat lacked the power behind that punch, instead sending Lavigne into the ropes. Lavigne’s groaning like a mess, spending the remainder of the round fending off a resurgent Katherine, who smartly stays her distance, refuses to pancake Lavigne to the ropes and risk having the Doll turn the tables on her with a close-quarters clinch. That means Avril’s just forced to weather the storm, eating a stiff shot to her face before another glove gets buried into her paunch. McNamara looks pleased throughout, smiling widely after the bell rings as the cameras pan over to Lavigne, who’s looking confused and morose in comparison, limping to her corner with a “Why is she hurting me?” look on her face after this shutout round.

ROUND 4:
At first glance, Avril’s still struggling to stay afloat - definitely not a good sign for the Doll as she fends off more blows to her body, her forearms taking punishment as a result as Katherine flies inwards to try and finish her off. Lavigne lets out more grunts as she takes another pin-shot to her nose, her loose guard all over the place and worst as the singer struggles to deal with the taller girl’s quickness here, gets herself trapped yet again between the ropes and her opponent. This time, Kat showing little mercy, comes sailing in with more left-right pumpin' action: a fist buried into the stomach, another up into the chin, rinse and repeat for breast and nose, till a lightning right cross BLASTS Lavigne across the face! AVRIL GOES DOWN! OUCH!! The Canadian collapses to her side in a heap as the shocked crowd goes “Ooohhhh” - Not the start Avril was looking for tonight as she finds herself sprawled out on the mat with the rookie towering over her this early! KNOCKDOWN for Katherine McNamara, and what a well-deserved one it is! The young blonde cannot hide her elation as she jumps in the air before strutting back to her corner with her arms held high, a wide smile on her face at this early achievement. Lavigne puttering by the ropes, however not down and out just yet as her fans chant her name throughout the arena, hoping she can make it back to her feet and avoid a humiliating upset. Avril is taking precious seconds to recollect herself here, giving her fans one hell of a scare before finally rising back up to her feet with some help from the ropes in order to beat the 10-count. Luckily for her, there is no time left in the round, allowing her a precious minute to recollect herself. Still, McNamara must be pleased as punch as she ends this round clearly in the lead and poised to win this fight.

ROUND 5:
McNamara strides forward one more time with confidence, a far cry from her press release appearance earlier as she continues to hound Avril with steady jabbing action. Avril’s finally taking this fight a little more seriously now that she’s gotten her ass knocked down, now skirting the perimeter of the ring to avoid Kat’s attacks for the most part. It’s a smart strategy here (and one we’re surprised she didn’t try earlier) as she tires Kat out with all that chasing, before turning the second minute into a brutal counterattack when she nails McNamara on the face with a counter-cross through the arms, then another series of brutal chops to the redhead’s chest and body to push her backwards and make her think twice about coming in too close. McNamara left in shock, rubbing her nose and breasts, and the final minute is spent with both women flicking punches at each other from a distance.

ROUND 6:
Katherine still feeling herself, counting on Lavigne’s lackluster stamina to betray her as the actress tries another push into enemy territory but gets NAILED all of a sudden when Avril sends a right hand through her arms and straight into her face instead! OUCH!! McNamara still has much to learn about advanced warfare here, her brute-force tactics taking her only so far in this fight. Avril’s smartly pushing back, ramming another left into the newcomer’s cheek, finally seeing Kat turn tail and runnin’. A wild exchange in the middle of the ring and minute is the last, pitched battle between these two ladies, who take turns turning each other’s face to one side or smashed into their bodies. But Avril comes out on top in this melee, deftly weaving to one side to avoid, and then sending an uppercut CRACK into the base of Kat’s chin… DOWN SHE GOES!! McNamara lets out a dull GROAN before she CRUMPLES to the canvas!! All of a sudden, McNamara utterly laid out at her opponent’s feet, barely moving an inch as she tries to lift her head to locate the ropes, but doesn’t make it very far indeed as the referee slowly completes the 10-count! There goes the bell and the dream. It’s all over!

Official Decision: Avril Lavigne defeats Katherine McNamara via KO6!

AFTER:
Another one bites the dust, but Lavigne is barely able to keep herself from collapsing right on top of Katherine after that wild brawl – her tired arms draped on the ropes for support, panting over Katherine’s prone body. But despite the rookie’s valiant efforts here tonight, Lavigne’s still probably the best fighter in the league who STILL hasn’t won a title! Some would even say that ex-champions like Emma Watson had deliberately avoided her for fear of losing the belt. Tonight though, she stops McNamara’s own advance with a mixture of brain and brawn, taking another step towards a career for the history books!

Lavigne helped to her corner by Dollhouse staff and seems in no condition for any post-fight shenanigans here to the delight of McNamara’s fans and management as the Canadian looks exhausted and drained on her stool. It takes a few minutes of medical attention for both girls but finally a smile forms on the winner’s face here. Still resting on her stool, Lavigne stares at the now revived Katherine from across the ring, shouting at her: "Get outta my ring BITCCCCH!". Kat simply rolls her eyes in frustration knowing she has wasted her big opportunity for an upset here tonight.

As for Lavigne, the Doll seems merely content with the win as she finally stands back up and celebrates by waving to all four corners of the ring, repeatedly gesturing across her waistline, where according to her - the Flyweight title rightfully belongs.

Finally leaving the ring, Avril stops to respond to reporters on her way backstage.

“b*tch please – No, it wasn’t hard. Yeah - she’s good I guess. She’s long…and quick. Her stupid arms are almost as freakishly long as that sl*t Madison Beer’s. Whatever. I didn’t even take her seriously until I had to…I could have knocked her out in the first If I really cared. But she’s not that important or scary, so I took it easy. And she was obviously trying SO hard from the get go. I still fucked her up. That’s all you guys should care about. If she wants a rematch, she knows where to find me. But she needs to improve first…next time I wont go so easy on you Kathy!” Avril laughs, winking playfully to the camera before finally making her exit from the arena accompanied by Kristanna Loken and the Dollhouse entourage.
