Caity Lotz vs. Priyanka Chopra

Two of the more physical of the FCBA's bantams squaring off. Both fighters have had impressive runs and both have had disappointments. And, both are looking to build off this bout and push for a shot at the titles.

"Caity is exactly the kind of opponent I need," says Big Choppy. "She's no joke. Has plenty of power. She's beaten girls. But. She's not beating me. Not tonight. Not ANY night."

"Priyanka's about to find out," says the hard-eyed blonde, "That Caity Lotz is nobody's OPPONENT."

ROUND ONE:

Chopra making with the feet early. She's moving, jabbing, bouncing forward for quick combinations, throwing the blonde to the defensive again and again. Caity can't seem to get going, get off the back foot. Instead, she's spending all her time covering up, resetting, and, before she can get off, being faced with another quick flurry from the brunette beauty. Chopra's corner surely drew something up, and this has got to be exactly what it looked like, their athletic fighter moving well, timing her attacks, keeping Caity at bay. Blonde growing more and more frustrated as the round goes on. Can't get off. Can't get anything done. Corner is shouting at her to let her hands go, but she can't get to spots to do that. When the bell rings, there's no question about the points. It's Chopra wide and with the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Lotz sits on the stool and the corner beings talking and the blonde shouts "I know! Shut up!" Well. Apparently she DOES know something, because, at the start of the second, things change. Caity's keeping the hands up, moving feet and head, and finally getting rolling. Now, Lotz is establishing her offense, giving as good as she gets in sharp exchanges with the brunette. She even backs Big Choppy up with a hard flurry about midway through the round. And, that flurry seems to be a sort of Line of Demarcation for the round. From there forward, Caity takes control. Now, it's the blonde landing hard, consistent leather, tossing the brunette to the defensive. Priyanka countering in spots, but now it's Lotz calling the tune, right to the bell. When it rings, the blonde's taken the points and evened things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

Lotz has got it going. And, she's got Chopra going. Backward. The blonde's getting the brunette squared up now, bringing her power to bear, piling up both points and hurt until...BOOM! Right hand, LOTZ! Chopra all wobbly butt now as Caity begins letting the hands go in a major way. Brunette stumbling backward, legs not responding, finally ending up washed up along the ropes, which might be the only things holding her up. Blonde now begins calling in the artillery. Strike after strike as Chopra holds on in a high guard. Referee looking in closely now. He needs to see more from the brunette, and Big Choppy seems to realize that and begin firing back in spots. It's mostly just powder puff stuff, though. Doesn't trouble the blonde, sho simply keeps banging away to the bell, taking it wide and pulling into a 29-28 lead.

ROUND FOUR:

Lotz in control, looking to clean up if not finish. She's got Priyanka where she wants her, unable to move, easy to find. So, the artillery strikes continue. Chopra does well to stay off the ropes and absorb the punishment, but she's absorbing much too much of it. Caity's landing tons of hard leather, and, it's all going to start adding up, even against someone as sturdy as the brunette beauty. For her part, Priyanka's firing back in spots, keeping this from being a total rout, but she's not doing very much to slow the blonde, who's simply as effectively aggressive as she can be, scoring, punishing, waiting patiently for the shot or shots that will end the thing. But, she'll have to wait at least one more stanza. When the bell rings, Chopra's scuffed, but still standing. And Lotz has won the round wide to lead 39-37.

ROUND FIVE:

More Caity. This girl has looked like a champion before, and she's absolutely looking like one now, walking down the brunette behind an effective jab, hurting her with follow on rights. Chopra game, firing back when she can, trying to slow this down, not crumbling under the tremendous assault she's been dealing with for two-plus rounds now. BOOM! Right hand COUNTER PRIYANKA! Chopra gets the feet set and lands a perfectly placed right that has Caity steppin' in fence post holes! Lotz all wide eyed as the brunette swings over to the offensive and DROPS HER WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Lotz down on her right side. Chopra to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Caity sitting up at six, shaking the head, getting unsteadily to her feet at eight. Ref gives her the mandatory and waives on Chopra, who quickly batters the blonde back into the ropes. Before Big Choppy can do much more, however, the bell rings, ending the round. It's 10-8 to Priyanka. And, we're even at 47 at the half.

ROUND SIX:

Big Choppy on the attack. Brunette sees a chance to end this now, and that's just what she plans to do. Lotz still buzzed, covering up, giving ground, banging back here and there, but taking a beating from the brunette, who's cleaning up in a major way. But, the clean up isn't what Priyanka wants, it's the finish. She's sitting down on punches, throwing everything she'd got at the blonde. And, for two minutes, Caity ships all of that shell. Then. BOOM! Straight right from Priyanka! Lotz wobbles, and is DROPPED BY A LEFT HOOK! Caity on her back as Chopra heads to a neutral corner. Lotz sits up at seven, tries to get to her feet, but stumbles back to all fours and it's OVER! The blonde can't beat the count and your winner by KO6 is Priyanka Chopra!

AFTER:

One heck of a fight as everyone expected, and Chopra ready for more. "As I said," she says with a smile, "This was the fight I needed to prove I'm back on track. Now, it's a matter of working my way back into the title picture for another shot at those belts."
