(Girls Friday vs Hawkeye International Sports Consortium)

Intro:
A big test for Kaya Scodelario and Naomi Scott as they duke it out for the first time, Kaya looking to come back after two defeats, Naomi wanting to take a big step in her career with a win over a former champion.

Kaya is 28 years old; she stands 5'6, holding a record of 40 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with 11 defeats, she is a former FCBA bantamweight champion.

Naomi is 27; she also stands 5'6, holding a record of 9 wins, all coming by way of knockout, with only 3 defeats.

To most Kaya would be the favourite coming into this fight, Naomi though has been on a strong run since joining the Hawkeye stable, only the current FCBA bantamweight champion Kira Kosarin has put a dampener on her momentum.

Before the fight both women were interviewed in the backstage interview area by FCBA Network's Alicia Atout, Kaya was up first not looking in a good mood.

When asked how she was feeling, Kaya responded "I've been annoyed for a month to be blunt, first I lost to Brie Larson, I should have put Brie's lights out during that fight and she knows it" Kaya's fists are clenched as she leans on the wall.

"Then I am described as an up and coming fighter by Naomi's manager, me an up and coming fighter? I have been the real standard bearer of this division, I've beaten all who have dared to face me and held the title! All Naomi is to me is a tune up! She is the fighter on her way up and tonight I put my boot on her face to shove her back down the rankings where she belongs" Kaya leaves after that rant, Alicia looking speechless as she watches her go.

She is talking to a more chipper Naomi not long after, who tells Alicia "I've been wanting this fight for a while, I have worked hard with Claire Danes, sparring with her and picking her brains on how to go about beating Kaya" grinning as she looks the polar opposite of Kaya.

Asked about how she plans to get the win, Naomi replies "I can't let you into all our secrets, just know that Kaya isn't some puzzle to unlock, she can be straight forwards to beat as has been shown lately, just have to pick my shots to lay her out for the count" patting Alicia on her shoulder as she tells her she has to go get ready, Alicia yelling to her good luck.

Fighting time; out comes Kaya with Hilary Swank and Eva Carneiro beside her, she doesn't look to have lightened her mood since the interview, coming to the ring with a scowl on her beautiful face.

She is wearing a black sports bra, black trunks with gold pinstripes, her surname is on the waistband in gold with a gold star under it, black shoes, black gloves with gold thumbs, her hair is tied back into a fighting ponytail.

Entering the ring Kaya heads straight for her corner, not bothering with the crowd as she stretches in her corner, Hilary telling her to not get too emotional tonight, rely on her boxing skills and make it an easy night.

Out now comes Naomi with her coach and Claire Danes behind her, Naomi smiling as she jogs down the aisle, Claire and her coach hyping the coach to cheer for their girl as the crowd look firmly on Naomi's side tonight.

She is wearing a navy blue sports bra with white trim, matching trunks and shoes, white gloves with blue thumbs, while her hair is also in a ponytail.

Climbing through the ropes into her corner, Naomi mounts the bottom rope where she flexes her arms to her fans, getting a loud cheer as she jumps down and gets into fighting mode.

Coming together at the center of the ring, when Kaya steps into Naomi, back comes Naomi till they are pushing the other with their foreheads, coaches needing to pull back their fighters as the threats come flying from the fighters.

They swipe their gloves with their opponents more to keep the referee happy then anything else, returning to their corners, the bell rings to start 10 rounds of bantamweight action.

Round 1:
Both start off with a jabbing drill to start, seeking openings in the others defences as they move around each other, a sort of parrying and thrusting exchange.

Till Kaya changed things up with a feint, stepping back when Naomi tried to catch her with a left cross, instead it's Kaya stepping in with a straight to the mouth of her opponent that seems to break the early deadlock.

Building confidence off her successes, Kaya dips under a right cross to dig in two hard body shots, nearly headbutting Scott onto her chin as she tries to work her back to the outside.

Pushing Kaya back, Naomi lands a crisp jab/straight combo into the face of Kaya to push her back, they reset at the center of the ring to trade more headhunting punches.

Looking still a little tense though, Naomi misses with a straight, taking a right to the body, followed by an overhand left to her cheek as she gets opened up in the final moments of the round.

At the bell Kaya just about holds back, she is looking in the mood to bring pain tonight, standing instead of sitting as she wants back out at Naomi quickly.

Round 2:
Smartly as they come back out to fight, Naomi uses Kaya's aggression against her, doubling her jab up along with bobbing and weaving more, Naomi is looking much more fluid with her attacks.

Kaya though looks to cut off the ring, getting Naomi onto the ropes with a straight to her cheek, they let their hands go on the inside, Kaya able to draw back that little more on her punches then Naomi, who clinches up to force the referee to break them up.

As they resume fighting, Naomi is definitely starting to land the cleaner punches, dodging before countering as Kaya is becoming a little too predictable with her attacks.

An uppercut knocks Kaya onto her heels, where she gets driven back into a set of ropes, Naomi making Scodelario retreat into her shell as she works those abs, now it's Kaya clinching up with her opponent.

Broken apart again, that last flurry she got hit with makes Kaya box more smartly, both landing nice combos up top in the final twenty seconds of the round, when the bell rings they separate without any incident.

A better round for Naomi, Claire giving her advice throughout the minute break, telling her where to tighten up so she can come out on top of this clash.

Round 3:
Trading behind their jabs to start, Kaya not letting her emotions dictate her actions, cheeks taking the brunt of the jabs as they circle around the center of the ring.

Naomi wants to push the action with a jab/overhand right combo, the jab lands but she eats an uppercut clean to the chin, back goes Naomi onto her heels with a slight wobble to her step.

On comes Kaya with three punches straight into the face of the Hawkeye fighter, backing her up against the ropes as Scott covers up, Scodelario looking to break that guard open.

Clinching up with Kaya, Naomi is blinking quickly to clear her head, Kaya trying to muscle her onto the ropes, referee steps in to break them apart.

While Naomi is blocking more punches now, she isn't throwing much back, getting pushed around the outside of the ring by Kaya, who is sneaking in hooks to the body after feints.

At the bell some arguing at ringside that could very well be a 10-8 round to Kaya, Hilary telling her she has Naomi rattled after that uppercut, Kaya simply nods as she stares daggers at Naomi.

Round 4:
Clearly wanting to make this a short nights work, Kaya comes on the attack, throwing several jabs through the mitts of Naomi to her face, knocking her back as she takes the center of the ring.

But as Kaya goes to step in with a right hook, Naomi dips under it and lands an overhand left to the temple of Kaya, who shakes her head as she takes a step back with a little jelly to those legs.

On comes Naomi now! She bashes back Kaya with two cross punches clean to the face, Kaya clinches up with Naomi desperately, legs get tangled and they both fall to the canvas.

After getting to their feet, Kaya is boxing more defensively, trying to get her legs fully under her, Naomi presses inside though with several hooks of her own to the body, adding more punches to abs when she has Scodelario near the ropes to make her groan.

Clinching up more successfully then before, Kaya looks shocked at what just happened, the referee breaks them up as both reset themselves, Kaya able to use her jab to keep the distance safe for her in the final moments of the round.

At the bell Naomi gets a thumbs up from Claire, another exciting round that has to be a 10-8 one for her now, both listening more intently to their coaches as they've felt the power and precision of their opponents, next time they might not be as lucky as just wobbling.

Round 5:
Both come out a little more tentative, Naomi not wanting to make the same mistake that Kaya made with her, though some at ringside thinking she should be more aggressive to try to finish this now.

Instead she misses with a straight as Kaya dips under it to move inside with a left hook to the body, followed by a left to the abs of Naomi to make her hiss out.

They trade on the inside and when it looks like Naomi might be able to knock back Kaya, suddenly Kaya switches things up by taking a quick step back with a double jab into the nose of Scott.

Who is finding herself being herded around the ring by straight punches that switch targets, Kaya then surprises her with a left forearm across the chest shove, the right hook pounding the side of her body till the referee can break them up and warn Kaya to keep it clean.

Once back into space with under a minute to go, Naomi manages to land some hard cross punches when Kaya tries to sneak back in closer, she now backs up Scodelario to the ropes.

The round comes to a close before she can really unload on Kaya though, both Londoners sit on their seat staring hard at their opponent, if the Girls Friday corner still entertained this being a tune up as Kaya claims, well that is being thrown out the window.

Round 6:
As they resume near the center, Kaya is landing more crisp combo punches, especially with two or three hammering Naomi through her gloves into her face.

A little trickle of blood is running from the right nostril of Naomi, who is gamely pushing inside to forced some fiery exchanges in tight, body shots flying in as barks ring out.

But Kaya showing her experience to use little nudges to open up space for cruel right crosses to the cheek and jaw of Naomi, backing her off to the outside so she can move while firing in straight punches.

While Naomi looks a little more subdued by what is coming at her, still she is stepping in when she sees a chance to bash Kaya to her cheeks and around her ribs.

Toe to toe go the fighters in the final fifteen seconds of the round, heads grinding as this becomes a power struggle, the Girls Friday corner not looking too pleased by that as the bell rings and Kaya comes back to them.

In the Hawkeye corner Naomi sits down with a slight mouse under her left eye, coaches working on reducing some of the swelling around her face, Claire barking at her to find a little extra, she believes she has it or she wouldn't be helping Naomi, making Scott nod her head and bang her gloves together as she stands back up.

Round 7:
More jabbing attacks from Kaya as she looks to have found her openings, sending sweat off of Naomi's head, keeping her mostly at range while taking only a few jabs cleanly in return.

Kaya does miss with a left cross, Naomi deflects it as she comes in with a left to the ribs, right to the jaw of Scodelario, starting to power her back till Kaya clinches up with her, halting her momentum.

When they resume it is more of Naomi getting chin checked with jabs and straights, pushing her near the ropes, where Kaya stalks her around, looking for that big hook it seems now.

Maybe she doesn't pull the trigger in time though, with a minute to go Kaya steps in with a straight that Naomi slips, instead a counter right lands on her ear, an overhand left to the temple makes her shake her head as she steps back.

Piling on the pressure comes Naomi, who lands a stiff double jab that opens up the former champion, AN UPPERCUT LANDS TO SEND KAYA STUMBLING TO HER BACK NEAR THE ROPES!

What a turn around for Naomi! She pumps her right fist into the air while jogging to the neutral corner, 1...2...3... Kaya turns to all fours, shaking her head as she looks dazed, 4....5...6.. Moving to the ropes, Kaya grabs the middle rope, 7...8...9. Getting to her feet with a little wobble, the referee checks her over, letting her continue on.

In comes Naomi as they trade, Kaya getting her head knocked back as sweat flies off her, there's a cut under the left eye of Scodelario now as she covers up on the ropes.

Not long after the bell rings to save Kaya, who is blinking to clear her head, she is hurting as she returns to her corner, Eva with a hell of a job getting her ready for the next round, Hilary talking to her to make sure she is OK to continue on.

Round 8:
Kaya does come out her corner, though the spring seems gone from her step for the moment, she is more focusing on keeping Naomi back at range with her jab.

It isn't much longer before it gets batted aside so Naomi can step in with two hooks to the body, then another uppercut rocks Kaya back into a corner.

The referee watches closely as Kaya's cut is reopened and she can only really land single punches as she tries to fight back, A RIGHT/LEFT HOOK COMBO TO THE CHIN SENDS KAYA SLUMPING DOWN THE TURNBUCKLES TILL SHE IS SITTING AGAINST THE BOTTOM ONE!

Jumping into the air as she senses she has her girl, Naomi has to be nudged to the neutral corner, 1..2..3.. Kaya isn't moving as her eyes are shut, 4...5...6.. Still no response.. THE REFEREE WAVES THE FIGHT OFF, SAYING KAYA IS KNOCKED OUT COLD!

Winner Naomi Scott KO Round 8

After:
What a comeback for Naomi! She falls to her knees with her arms in the air, tears of joy running down her face as she has taken a big scalp on her way up the rankings.

Claire is the first to race into the ring, Hugging her protégé as she yells "you did it!" Naomi hugging her back as all the hours learning off maybe the greatest bantamweight of all time is clicking for her.

While Kaya has to be woken up by smelling salts, Eva is tearing up as she sits Kaya is still badly dazed as she tries to pull herself up and slings back down to the canvas.

Hilary with the ringside doctor help up Kaya to her stool that has been brought over, the doctor checks her over and decides they want to do more tests in the back.

The crowd don't seem to take much notice of Kaya leaving, maybe her comments prefight rubbed them the wrong way or they are simply enthralled by the story of this fight, cheering the winner on loudly.

Naomi gets her gloves taken off and is soon at the center, getting her hand raised to a loud cheer by the crowd, Claire applauds her as Naomi wipes some joyful tears away.

In just two short years she has proven she belongs at the elite table, Naomi posing for the cameras with her arm around Dane's shoulder, Claire telling the cameras "this is your future champion" pointing at Naomi, who is beaming.

Leaving the ring together, Naomi only has thirteen fights under her belt but could already truly be a contender right now for the bell, has she just gained the attention of whoever walks out with the title tonight?
