BEFORE: This is one of these match-ups where bad blood is simply missing. On the contrary, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Aldridge have been friends for years having shared the Victoria's Secret catwalk for the best part of the last decade & a change. They never met in the ring before - honoring their friendship - but with Alessandra announcing her intentions to step away from boxing once she turns 40 next April, it's time for a premature farewell meeting after all.

"Yeah, I'm stacking up the best line-up for my "Don't Call it a Farewell Tour" farewell tour.", Alessandra tells Tess Valmore in her pre-fight interview, "Lily is a great friend of mine but we've done some backstage boxing & wrestling before and I know I can beat her up. No hard feelings. We are genuine pros here. But it's time to make it official. We're gonna share a bottle of wine regardless of the result later tonight and guess what Tess? You're invited to the party! Just don't get drunk before 10 pm like last time!" (giggles).

Meanwhile Lily hopes to kick-start her season after a single KO3 punchout of Olga Kurylenko left many Lioness fans wondering why she's been out of action ever since: "I pulled a muscle sparring with Joy Corrigan but I'm all good now. Alessandra has enjoyed all the spoils lately but I'm really happy that's able to walk away on her own terms. She's got some famous names lined-up on her farewell tour and while I stayed off her schedule for all this time, there's no reason for me not to fighter her anymore. We're friends but I still hope to take her scalp tonight! Wish me luck!" (winks).

Long dark brown hair tied in a curled ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Alessandra tries to be really nice to her friend here and keeps her gloves low by the hips but Lily has other ideas and smacks a couple of unanswered hooks into the Brazilian's face which wobbles her back and by the time she gets going, the American blasts her with an uppercut drive on the chin to assume control of the action! Heavy slugging from Lily send Alessandra reeling and she doesn't even have time to get really upset as she's buried behind a leather assault and has to cover up in a shocking earmuff. She still gets bumped onto the ropes where Aldridge blows into her guts and nothing except a clinching stalemate spares Ambrosio more punishment. She gives the younger brunette a long stare at the bell in "What gives, hun?" fashion but Lily flashes her tongue and struts back to her corner leaving the former champion shaking her head. Well, there are no friends in the ring, minha linda!

Round 2:
"Okay, so you want this serious? Be my guest!", Alessandra tackles the fellow brunette to the body after a faked overhand approach and she tests the strenght of Lily's abs during majority of the opening minute before blasting her across the chin to boot. She owns the supreme reach here and controls the otherwise slow-moving American in mid-distance but flirts with a booming shot on the ear that leaves Aldridge beware of the threat. She's seen this punch at Victoria's Secret backstage all too often to fall for the slugging attempt but this only allows Ambrosio to stretch her elbows and impress the judges with back & forth single-strike display. Even that cheeky smile gives Alessandra extra artistic value points and by the time Lily tries to slug herself back into contention she gets spun to the side when the older model nails her with a scything double on the lips.

Round 3:
More mid-distance control from Ambrosio who loops meaningful punches upstairs and shows impressive agility for someone so leggy while avoiding the American's response. She makes Lily look very sluggish and settles into counter-punching her on the double before one of the looping shots tags Aldridge on the jaw and wobbles her back on the spot. And there's that big smile on Alessandra's face who almost plants her left glove square on Lily's face and shoves her back regardless. Lily injects some speed into her response but bounces off the forearms and folds forward when the Brazilian belts her on the belly button. Both women struggle for supremacy in the final minute but Ambrosio finds the better shots and she pierces Lily's navel with more quick harpoons to leave her friend gasping for air at the bell.

Round 4:
Lily bounces off the high guard wall and gets picked off over the top again as Alessandra slowly begins to dominate the turn this bout into a one-sided display or pure Brazilian talent. Lily realizes she's getting beat in all these quick exchanges but she just can't work around Ambrosio's superior reach and sinks on her knees when the older model blasts her on the chin with a vicious double. Another right-on-right goes awry and Aldridge develops a visible lump over the left eye as Alessandra backs her onto the ropes and powers downstairs to drill the exposed midsection during the second minute. Lily tries to hang on in the clinch but Alessandra pounds her in the abs and drops her into a moaning struggle before the punishment is simply too much and ALDRIDGE DROPS TO HER KNEES just seconds before the bell. Alessandra slowly walks back to her corner while Lily sits down on her heels and soaks up the standard eight count before getting up. There's not enough time on the clock for the Brazilian to finish the fellow brunette off but she's build a wide lead on the cards already and leaves Lily shaking her head in frustration during the interval.

Round 5:
Alessandra taunts her friend instead of truly blowing her away while Lily's hectic response finally brings her some joy when she's able to blast a series to the body before dragging the older model into a lenghty wrestling clinch on the ropes. Alessandra shakes her off but jams her right hand against the hip and gets nailed on the chin with an upercut series that allows the American to pound her back onto the opposite side of the ring. Ambrosio tries to land some urgent strikes amid Lily's jabbing menace but gets tagged on the mouth and drops onto the turnbuckle where Lily drills her in the midriff and steals the final minute with more solid ribcage pounding as the Brazilian almost gets shoved through the ropes in the process.

Round 6:
Enough with the fun & games as Alessandra jumps in to finish the fellow brunette however Lily's the more agile of the two and leaves the older model to slice thin air before a nasty bomb on the chin drops the former champion on jelly knees. Uh-oh! Lily blows into Alessandra's face and tears a small gash under the left eye; she outworks the hitherto dominant woman thereafter and belts her in the guts to take control of the phone booth slugging. Ambrosio gets hectic in her aerial response but Aldridge drives more shots into her midsection and pummels her against the turnbuckle before another uppercut finds the chin and spins the Brazilian to the side. Lily unloads a jug muggin' drive to keep her rival slumped in the corner and delivers a low hook on the ribcage to leave the fellow model gasping for air at the bell.

Round 7:
Alessandra doesn't have the strenght to avoid getting blasted in the body anymore and trips over her own feet as she tries to neutralize the younger brunette in mid-distance. She reverts back to the slugging drill but misses her approach while Lily ducks underneath her efforts and NAILS her reeling Brazilian on the liver with a brutal harpoon! Uh-oh! Alessandra stumbles to the side with a loud whimper and Lily follows up with a brutal chin shot that SENDS AMBROSIO CRASHING DOWN ON HER BACK!!! How about that? Alessandra banged her head against the ropes when going down and she rolls face-down amid some loud yelps. She tries to make a recovery here but she's still sitting down on her heels at seven and she wobbles back upright only to stumble back on the ropes and down on her knees again... NINE... TEN... YER OUT!!!! KO7 Lily Aldridge in come-from-behind fashion!!!

AFTER: This is a mild upset as Alessandra was safely leading on the cards before disaster struck in the seventh! The Brazilian model had no business losing this fight but paid a heavy price for lack of killer instinct when Lily was there to be had! A costly mistake in a fight between two friends and even Lily herself acknowledges how lucky she really was the fight dragged into the seventh round to begin with. Alessandra remains a little woozy and hurting in the gut when Lily lifts her from the canvas and both VS models exchange a lenghty hug before they head back to their corners.

Alessandra might have won most of the VS backstage sessions alright but she has to take an upset loss on the official FCBA record and she does look a bit upset when Lily's arm is raised in the air. She still applauds the fellow brunette's victory and there's little doubt both of these stunners will spend the rest of the night down in the bar discussing the details of the back & forth contest - with or without Tess Valmore's company!
