Before:

Teles may only have four fights under her belt, but when they’re all wins and comprise a list of Durance, Patton, Cuoco, and Peregrym, it isn’t surprising to see her skyrocket to the top. In fact, her fifth opponent is Emily DiDonato, the former champ whose title reign ended last month against Alexis Ren.

Both girls are conciliatory during the press conference, with Tasya saving that Emily was a great champ who didn’t shy away from hard fights, not to mention that she ended Taylor Swift’s record-setting reign. DiDonato meanwhile notes that Teles’ first four opponents have been impressive to say the least, and that her rise was nothing less than meteoric.

Come time for the fight, Tasya Teles is the first girl out of the back. The Canadian actress has chosen to wear a white sports bra and matching gloves with red trunks, her hair in a ponytail for the fight. Emily DiDonato makes her way to the ring moments later, the brunette model wearing a black sports bra and matching trunks and gloves, her hair in a bun. The two girls touch gloves at the ref’s request and off we go for ten rounds of lightweight action!

Round 1:

Teles wastes no time and works in close to DiDonato, thumping the brunette model’s chest. Emily digs a right into Tasya’s ribs in response, slightly knocking Teles back, but the actress smokes Emily in the jaw with a right and the former champ is staggered! Emily’s backing up as Tasya pounds the model’s guard, driving her blows through DiDo’s guard with brute force. DiDonato backs into the ropes and pumps a quick right just below Tasya’s left eye. The Canadian recoils in response and DiDonato goes body, driving a left into Teles’ ribs. Tasya takes a quick step backwards and as Emily steps in, the actress tags her in her chin, stopping her advance. Teles pops a quick left into DiDo’s breast and works the American back into the ropes until Emily clinches. The ref breaks the two apart and once the action resumes, DiDonato keeps Teles away with jabs from her long reach until the bell. The impressive new blood shows her stuff in the first, taking the first round against the former champ on points, wide.

Round 2:

DiDonato gets out of her corner prepared for Teles’ offense straight out of the gate, and quickly blows the older girl’s opening strike. DiDo comes back with a straight right that knocks Teles in her mouth, and the Canadian quickly backs off to avoid any further blows from Emily and starts working to her right. The Goshen Goddess responds in kind and the two girls circle to their rights, with DiDonato landing some good jabs, but Teles doesn’t let DiDo get out scot-free, counterpunching the model whenever possible. As the third minute begins, Tasya breaks the circling pattern and feints left and sneaks a right past Emily’s guard. The brunette model takes the blow and responds with a left that catches Tasya’s chin. Teles backs off as DiDonato advances, the American girl chasing the Canadian until the bell, but never able to land a clean punch. The round ends and the judges determine that DiDonato takes it on points, close.

Round 3:

The third round starts with a flurry of blows as the two lightweights trade punches, with Teles getting the upper hand early on thanks to a right to DiDonato’s jugs followed by a left to the brunette model’s chin. DiDo drops backwards and Teles follows her, slipping a trio of punches into the model’s body. Emily drops back again but this time jabs out as she steps backwards and hits Tasya square in the nose. The Canadian girl has a blank look plastered onto her face as the Goshen Goddess follows up with a right hook that catches Tasya in her jaw and sends the actress staggering to her left. DiDonato is quick on the pursuit, but the new fighter limits the damage Emily can do, as she keeps her guard up and gets in the occasional counterpunch. Emily strings together a nice series of punches to Tasya’s body to end the round, but she can’t do much more. Emily takes the round on points, close.

Round 4:

DiDonato gets out strongly to start the fourth and instantly gets right after Teles with her range, connecting with a pair of jabs to Teles’ face. Tasya retreats as Emily steps forwards and launches an absolute haymaker at Teles, but the older girl neatly dodges the blow and lines up a sublime right straight into Emily’s chin. DiDo stops momentarily and Teles whacks Emily just below her eye, knocking her backwards. DiDonato slips right and throws a left back at Teles, but it skips off of Tasya’s ribs and Teles clocks the brunette with a right that sends Emily back into the ropes! DiDonato is quick on the clinch to stop the Canadian’s onslaught and the ref breaks the two up before Teles can work DiDonato over. A bit of action after the break, with both girls trading blows, but Teles works in close enough to DiDo to limit the bigger girl’s reach and crams her until the bell. The fourth goes to Teles on points, wide.

Round 5:

Teles firmly in control out of the gate as she works around DiDo in circles, picking at the model’s body. The brunette actress works rights and lefts around Emily’s guard, thumping her ribs with two well-placed rights followed by a left to the model’s chest. The Goshen Goddess’ responses either miss or bury themselves into Tasya’s guard as the Canadian girl has free reign. Tasya feints left, Emily bites, and Teles smacks DiDonato in her chin. DiDo covering up as Teles slowly works her backwards into the ropes again. Tasya shoots out a right hook but Emily pulls her head out of the way by the slimmest of margins and comes back with a straight right to Tasya’s nose and the Canadian girl has a blank look on her face! DiDonato starts working Teles back into the middle of the ring when the model buries leather into the older brunette’s body and the actress’ arms flare out just long enough for Em to land a left that staggers Teles – AND THE BELL RINGS! The bell saves the actress and while she ekes out the round on points, she has to be worried about Emily’s power.

Round 6:

The fight enters the back half and the momentum shift is apparent – DiDonato practically charges at Teles while the actress tries to keep her distance. Key word being tries, as DiDonato hits her groove, launching off powerful blows from range that tag Teles’ body, but more importantly, others split the Canadian’s guard and pummel her face. Tasya counterpunches, landing a right to Emily’s mouth. DiDo retreats quickly and Teles steps forward – and she gets absolutely snockered by a right straight to her chin followed by a left hook and down goes Teles! Tasya’s in a heap on the ground while DiDonato gets to the corner and the ref starts to count. Tasya’s moving her limbs, getting to all fours at six, but she can’t go any further before the ten count! The ref calls for the bell and it’s over – your winner by KO6, the Goshen Goddess, Emily DiDonato!

After:

DiDonato raises her fists in victory, bouncing back after losing the title to Alexis Ren in the prior PPV. The Bonzo’s Gym staff quickly tends to their fallen fighter and once Tasya has recovered a bit, DiDonato goes over and hugs Teles, whispering into her ear before patting her on her head and heading out of the ring.

“Teles is a good fighter, she really is. Good power, speed, and she’s beaten several good fighters so far.” DiDonato says afterwards. “I’m really looking forward to seeing what she does in the future.”

Teles a bit more withdrawn when she gives a statement to the press. “Well, all good things have to come to an end at some point, but that doesn’t mean the loss doesn’t hurt. On to the next one.”
