GIRLS OF SCI-FI AT THE ASYLUM III: SEASON OF THE WITCH

BEFORE:

"For some reason," says Sarah with a shake of the head, "I'm the underdog tonight. I guess it's because I'm not managed. Well. I've beaten better girls than her. So, guess how this is gonna go?"

"I don't know if she's the underdog or not," says a hard-eyed Kara. "I DO know she's getting beaten tonight. Count on that."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'There She Goes' by The Las, and here comes a lovely lady we saw here back in December, Sarah Wayne Callies..."

McCarthy: "And, Sarah is RIGHT. She HAS beaten better fighters than THIS Dancing Hooker. Then again, who HASN'T?"

O'Dell: "Callies into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that ruby number we've seen before, and she's looking quite fetching in it."

Tess: "Crowd most certainly thinks so..."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'Flawless' by The Ones you hear hammering through the arena, and that can only mean that Kara 'The Body' Del Toro is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "'The BODY'. MY body is TWICE as hot as hers. THREE times as hot. INFINITELY as hot..."

Cassie: "Infinitely as..."

Tess: "This is fight number four. No way to we have time..."

Cassie: "Good point, BFF..."

O'Dell (sighing): "Kara into the ring and helped off with the robe. Crowd loving how she looks in that neon green number. And, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Kara. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Callies may be older, but age ain't nothin' but a number. Sarah!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

O'Dell: "And, we're underway. Callies making with that length and that long left jab and SHE NAILS KARA WITH A RIGHT HAND! Opening seconds and Sarah ROCKS Del Toro! Kara covering up as Callies goes to town with both hands now, driving all before her as Kara can't hold canvas with those wobbly legs..."

McCarthy: "REALLY caught her with that one. Del Toro did well to stay on her feet."

O'Dell: "Callies forcing Del Toro to the ropes now. Kara in a high, tight guard, leaning back into the ropes as the older woman bangs away. Sarah not getting sloppy, setting up the punches, getting the hands back, not allowing undue opportunities for counters from Del Toro..."

Tess: "Kara fighting smart. Firing back here and there, but mostly keeping that guard tight."

O'Dell: "Callies not bothering with body AT ALL at the moment. She's all about trying to finish this thing right now. Ten seconds left, though, so it's not going to happen in the first. One more good flurry from Sarah and there's the bell. No doubt. Callies and wide in the first."

Cassie: "Del Toro down 10-9, but it could have been worse."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Callies continuing the assault, coming forward, backing up Del Toro and GETTING NAILED BY A RIGHT-HAND COUNTER! Oh, a BLISTERING counter from Kara and now Sarah is HURT! Callies wobbling as the younger woman lets the hands go in a major way in the middle of the ring..."

Cassie: "THIS one isn't lacking action..."

O'Dell: "It is NOT, and, right now, Del Toro's the one providing it, driving Sarah back against the cables in a 180 of last round. It's now the younger woman banging away, while Callies covers up along the ropes. Ref looking in, but Sarah doing enough to keep him at bay for the moment..."

McCarthy: "WATCH that home town ref! Can't be TRUSTED!"

O'Dell: "Down the stretch and Kara banging away to the body now, trying to bring the guard down. Sarah crouching, clinching. Del Toro shoving off, back to work. Just a few ticks remaining. Good left hook, Del Toro and that brings us to the bell. Wide again, this time, Kara."

Tess: "Even at 19 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Del Toro pushing the action right now. Has to be mindful of what she just did to Sarah in the last round, but she's trying to get Callies out of here. Sarah giving ground, countering here and there, but mostly on the defensive as Del Toro looks for the punch that will finish it..."

Tess: "Kara very sound. Wiz points out that she's not a teenager. She's new to the FCBA, but she's in her mid-twenties. She's mature and she's looking it."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. Callies tying up. Ref going to get in there and break them apart. Sarah with a nice flurry there, seems to have the legs back under her and DOWN SHE GOES! Oh, what a right hand from Kara and CALLIES SPLASHES TO HER BACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!"

Cassie: "That punch hit like the proverbial ton of bricks..."

O'Dell: "Kara to a neutral corner. Callies on her back staring up at the referee as he counts down at her. Three. Four. Five. Sarah's there but not there at the moment. Don't think this is going to happen. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO3 is Kara 'The Body' Del Toro!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kara Del Toro, and, Kara, plenty of action for you tonight..."

Kara (nodding): "Yeah, she caught me a good one. Everyone knows she can hit. And, I'm living proof. But, I was able to shake it off and get back after her."

Tess: "You've gotten off to a great start at Front Street. What's next?"

Kara: "I just trust in management when it comes to that. Gemma and Katy, they're at the point where they can talk about who they want next. I'm just going to keep working hard and fight whoever they put in front of me."
