Pre-Fight:

“I put her on the mat last time,” says Kristen. “The count went to nine. Fight should have been stopped that round. Well guess what, it’s happening again. Round four again. Only this time she’s not getting back up. Not even Billie or Milana put her out cold. Tonight she takes a nap.”

“I’m coming off of two losses where I just couldn’t match the power,” says Elyse. “I wish I could be funnier but I’m just really too focused to be joking around right now. Now, Kristen had me in trouble last fight but she’s no Eilish. She can’t bruise like her. So I’m going to do a lot better than I did my last couple fights. Just watch.”

R1: Kristen shoots out of her corner like a bullet out of a gun. She nails Elyse with a right hook and Elyse’s guard raises. Kristen ducks a jab and lands a right-left combo to the Canadian’s abdomen. Already Elyse is on her heels.

The Comedienne comes out with a bag of tricks though, and with impressive anticipation ducks Kristen’s hook and follows up with an uppercut. The smaller blonde’s head snaps back and now it’s Elyse who sees an opportunity.

Jab. Jab. Jab. Jab. Jab.

Kristen can’t stop it. Elyse walks her all the way into a corner and begins wailing on her opponent. Two smart hooks to Kristen’s ribs get her to soften up and lean to the side. Elyse follows up by going Southpaw for the rest of the round. She gets a fantastic left cross that leaves Kristen a little dazed. More jabs and more hooks to the abdomen when Kristen’s guard goes up. Elyse delivers some quality punishment before the round ends.

Elyse takes that round easily 10-9.

R2: The jab continues to work to the start of round two. Elyse nailing Kristen no matter how hard the shorter girl tries to avoid it. The sound of leather on flesh fills the ring. Elyse has switched back to her orthodox stance, which may have thrown Kristen for a bit of a loop.

Elyse dodges a hook and lands a few more jabs. Kristen has zero answer to it. She has no idea when it’s coming and when it does come it nails her every time. Bell has to back up and get some distance. The round hits a bit of a lull in minute two with Kristen trying to figure out how to get around that jab and Elyse doing a bit of chasing.

Minute three things heat up. Kristen finds herself in a corner with an eager Elyse to do some more damage. But instead Kristen is able to find an upper cut to escape trouble! Even better she slips to the side and hits Elyse with a right cross. Elyse’s momentum carries her onto the ropes and Kristen throws everything she’s got. She’s going for it early.

It’s not the best idea as the last minute of the fight ticks away, but Kristen definitely landed a few solid shots and takes the round with ease.

19-19 all.

R3: Two rounds in and two wide results.

The two ladies meet in the middle of the ring and just as it looks like Elyse is going to go orthodox she switches up and goes southpaw. Kristen is taken aback and it shows. She feels the sting of a strong right jab before being greeted with back to back left crosses that get her close to the ropes. She’s able to slip away, but at this point she’s running.

The crowd starts to boo as Elyse essentially chases Kristen around the ring.

Bell gets caught in her own corner and starts getting hammered. She finds that uppercut again and evades any potential knockout blows. The rest of the round plays out similarly. Elyse finds a few more left crosses and Kristen is able to land an uppercut to escape.

The end of the round comes with another convincing Elyse win.

Willems 29-28.

R4: Kristen has no idea what to expect from a wily Elyse. The Comedienne comes out southpaw and just as Kristen starts to find a counter-punching rhythm she switches to her orthodox stance. It’s wild and unpredictable.

Kristen is experienced though, and she holds tough. A right hook here. A few smart jabs there. The two girls step into each other in the center of the ring and start to trade a flurry of blows. There’s no clear winner until Kristen hits Elyse in the left ribcage with a hook. Elyse bends over a bit and Kristen sees her green light.

This is it. Round 4. Just like she promised. A beautiful uppercut and Elyse is staggered! She’s swaying from side to side. Kristen comes in and lands a beautiful right hook. Elyse falls into a corner, catching the top rope to stay up. Kristen comes in for the kill but the bell rings! The ref rushes in before Kristen can do any more damage.

Bell takes that round with that late flury. 38-38 all.

R5: The two girls meet in the center of the ring. Elyse is not backing down. It proves to be a massive mistake.

All of a sudden her jab isn’t landing and Kristen’s is. Elyse’s punches are coming at a much slower pace. She’s dazed. She’s ducking into punches. She’s not keeping her hands up.

Kristen beats Elyse silly.

They make their way all over the ring. Elyse stumbling and catching herself, Kristen shooting crosses and uppercuts that are landing. Bell is dishing out some serious punishment, but somehow Elyse stays standing.

The ref hears the calls from Bell’s corner to call the fight. But Elyse’s guard is still up and she’s still attempting counter punches, even if they aren’t landing.

But Kristen doesn’t want a TKO on Elyse. Two other girls have that. Kristen wants to keep her promise.

Midway through the second minute and it’s been all Bell. She corners Elyse and the combos start flying. There’s an anger behind them. It’s the hardest Kristen has punched anybody in years. She furrows her brows and stares Elyse in the face as she knocks the crap out of her. Elyse starts to slide down the corner, but Kristen shakes her head and pulls her in for a clinch.

The smaller girl pries Elyse off of the corner post and drags her out to the middle of the ring. The ref steps in to break them apart and when he does…

WHAM-BAM

A left uppercut to Elyse’s chin followed by a devastating right hook.

Elyse’s body flops to the canvas. The ref comes in but there’s no real point to it. Kristen can tell from the body language. Everything is limp. Elyse is out cold.

The count reaches ten.

Kristen walks on top of Elyse to get to her corner, making sure to give a little extra push with her right foot into Elyse’s spine.

Winner: Kristen Bell KO Round 5

Post-Fight:

“Okay so I was off a round,” says a smiling Kristen. “I didn’t account for the extra round you get when you hit 40. But yeah, she was outclassed. All those fancy tricks she tries to throw… it’s a smokescreen to protect the fact she can’t box. That’s 3 fights in a row where she was helpless. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 4, honestly. Girl can’t fight.”

“She said I can’t fight?” says Elyse as she grits her teeth. “Well maybe she needs to review the tape of our first match. I can fight, alright? It’s just… I hit the league hard and it’s hitting hard back. I’ll be fine. I just have to figure a way out of this… I’ll be fine.”
