1. Alyssa Lynch vs Halston Sage

Alyssa:

BEFORE:
“Apparently Sage has some fans in the audience tonight, huh?” Alyssa says with a smirk as cheers go up across the arena at the mere mention of the up-and-coming actress and newest girlfriend of Zac Efron. 

“Doesn’t matter,” Alyssa continues. “I plan on doing what I do best today: beating the snot out of a blonde, especially one who thinks she can upstage me on my home ground. Who knows? Maybe I’ll convert some of you guys after I leave Halston breathing into my tummy!”

Strong words as Alyssa tosses the microphone to the ring official as she saunters back to her own corner, scrapping faded blue canvas under her feet as the rest of the sports hall erupts in equal cheers for the Vixen. We’re of course starting off tonight’s event inside the Schofield Barracks in sunny Honolulu before moving down to the beach for the last matches. It’s a tribute to the troops indeed as the entire sports hall is filled to the brim with men (and women) in uniform. 

Sage’s turn and she looks slightly nervous as she’s handed the microphone. “Um. I’m happy to be here and glad to see so many supporters in the audience.”

Someone in the audience shouts, “MARRY ME, SAGE!” which brings a smile to the model’s face. “Thank you for the compliments. I hope to earn your support tonight by kicking Alyssa’s ass,” she continues.

The two women size each other up at center ring with Alyssa, clearly rattled by the upstart’s remarks, grins and turns her nose up at Sage. Alyssa’s wearing a violet sports bra top, matching bikini briefs for bottoms as she shakes black gloves loose. She’s two inches taller than Sage, who’s donning a modest red bikini top and white boxing trunks, complete with yellow gloves. What a way to end the summer indeed with this starting match! Referee waves his hand and HERE we go with ten rounds of Bantamweight action!

ROUND 1:
For all that smiling and playing nice, Alyssa shows no quarter once the action starts, slamming a cross hand right into Halston’s face to kick off the punishment. Sage, seemingly soft spoken both inside and outside the ring, has trouble keeping abreast of Alyssa’s attacks as the veteran fighter makes short work of the newcomer in the very first round. Lynch tagging Sage on the nose repeatedly, then hammering hooks into the side of her guard, which throw Sage backwards and bewildered. Round ends with Halston barely making any resistance at all, an occasional jab sent back to Alyssa’s face the only points she’s scored this opening round.

ROUND 2:
Halston with a little more venom in her bite, takes Alyssa’s attacks on the arms before rattling the brunette back with a nice, clean shot across her face! Lynch looks more shocked than hurt, still determined to come forward to finish the newbie off, but sees more of her shots blocked by the blonde’s arms before Halston STUNS her back with a straight glove to the lips. Sage definitely shows some effective counter-punching skills of her own as she frustrates Alyssa’s advance this time, with Lynch’s over-aggressive tactics making her careless as she eats more punishment and does little to balance out the round. Sage with a comeback round at the bell, grinning to herself and corner after finding her winning formula.

ROUND 3:
Alyssa however opts to stay back this round as well, denying Sage an abundance of targets for her jab. Girls trade leather to the face from a distance, but Halston running at the first sign of trouble means she’s just a little more agile on her feet as she connects with Alyssa’s face with another flurry before she jumps out of the way of Alyssa’s more dangerous hooks. Lynch lands some glancing shots too but they’re mostly quality over quantity, using power to stun or push Sage backwards but can’t quite pin the blonde down just yet. Round ends and Alyssa looks hella frustrated at her lack of headway at dominating this fight - she knows she needs to do more if she wants to pull ahead.

ROUND 4:
Girls catch their breath as they circle and jab from afar. Sage is a little hesitant to stand and brawl and Alyssa herself looks reluctant to rush in and find herself getting outworked in speed. Lynch however relies on her body of work to box Sage into a corner, jabbing at her head left and right, then down at the body in order to herd the blonde into an indefensive position. Sage for the most part is oblivious as her back suddenly touches the ropes, and Alyssa FLIES forward into action, a one-two combo slammed into the arms before she thumps Sage’s body with a dull right hook. Sage grunts but tries her hand at a clinch, wrapping up with arms around Alyssa’s neck as the two women go rotating along the ropes for a couple of seconds before the referee breaks the wrestling match up. Alyssa dominates but ultimately it’s Sage who manages to save herself!

ROUND 5:
Alyssa’s still fired up and giving chase, but lets out a grunt when she’s suddenly on the receiving end of a counter-hook to her cheek, with Halston still alert in the first minute to swerve around a straight cross and counter. Sage however is still a little green and hesitant to go chasing after her opponent so early, which allows Alyssa to recover into a mutual holding pattern, as the two women resort to more jabs and tight flurries from afar. Alyssa begins to battle back this way, lighting up Sage’s body and chest whenever the blonde chooses to hide her face behind her arms instead, slowly building points up towards the end of the bell. But Sage also stays focused, returns fire almost blow-for-blow as the two women stay neck-and-neck this round.

ROUND 6:
Sage definitely shows some promise in just the third fight of her career, even if the first two rodeos haven’t gone her way. Taking on Alyssa Lynch was always a gamble, but so far, the blonde has managed to hold her ground and dish out some punishment. She rallies forward at the sixth bell, hoping to last another five rounds and perhaps take home her first win of her career, only to get NAILED on the nose from a tail-end combo from Lynch, who brought out her big guns early and rattled Sage with an opening hook to the side of the head before a right cross is slammed straight into the bewildered girl’s face! AND DOWN SAGE GOES!! Halston BLASTED onto her back just like that, clotheslined by that straight hand to the chin and now lying spreadeagled on the ground, her head rolling to one side in a shocking KO! Referee performs the 10-count but Alyssa’s already grinning like a madwoman back in her corner! There goes the bell and this opening fight!

Official Decision: Alyssa Lynch defeats Halston Sage via KO6!

AFTER:
Trouble in paradise indeed as Halston Sage continues to flounder from fight to fight, still lying prone in the post-match sequence before being brought around by smelling salts and late trying to hold back tears as her team and medics swarm around her. 

Alyssa on the other hand is all-smiles and ignoring her opponent, sparing the blonde some shame and instead acknowledging the cheers and hoots of the audience in attendance. Later, she speaks to reporters by ring-side:

“Touch luck for Sage, but we all knew she was going to go down, one way or another. She gave me some trouble in the early rounds but I was always in control. She needs some work but sure, maybe one day we’ll meet again!”
