Emma Watson vs Sarah Shahi

Emma:
(28, 5’6, 37:24 FCBA, VIXENs)

Sarah:
(40, 5’3, 26:17 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
“Yeah, I remember our fight way back in 2012. It’s one of those battles that stuck with me till today because of the way it ended. We both fought a grueling battle and then Sarah manages to win by a couple of points? I’m not going to let history repeat itself,” Emma says as she grins to the camera.

“Emma’s certainly come a long way since our last fight,” Sarah concludes. “But if I won back then, I can do it again. People have been writing me off ever since I retired in 2018, but I feel like I still have some fight left in me, as Emma’s about to find out the hard way.”

Certainly a sight to behold as Emma and Sarah meet for the second time in their careers tonight, almost a decade since their last encounter in the ring. They pose at the podium with their fists cocked low but at a respectable distance, confident smirks on their faces as Emma towers over her opponent with the three-inch height advantage but still looking wary of Sarah’s stockier power.

Fight night rolls around and Watson enters the ring in a red/silver sports bra, white briefs and donning black gloves on either hand. Sarah dressed in an olive green bikini top and bottom, strapping on white gloves in her corner. Referee calls the match to order with a wave of his hand, and HERE we go with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Some beautiful action to behold in the first round that shows off how far these two have come: Emma clearly the aggressor, pressuring Sarah early with jabs sent in from afar and deftly avoiding comeback blows herself. Sarah realises she’s dealing with a different opponent than before quite early on as the first jabs tag her clean on the chin, and her own punches are missing or taken on the arms without venom. Watson’s strategy is clear as day here: slow and steady advance, then hound your opponent with fast flurries to the face and then retreating back out of range. And it works, the older woman struggling to keep pace as Watson outclasses her in every way till the bell.

ROUND 2:
Watson however tries the same tactic in the second round and instantly regrets it when Sarah springs forward and smashes a hook into the side of her arms, throwing the Vixen to the side with avengeance. Watson needs to be careful about her opponent’s power, the same weakness that cost her the match the last time. Emma regroups from a distance but now looks a little more hesitant in getting in close to brawl, which allows Sarah to slam a few more straight punches clean into the Brit’s body and arms. Shahi still packing heat for her age, taking the advantage back to her corner by exerting her power this round.

ROUND 3:
Ladies circle with their hands up, ready to strike at the earliest opportunity. Emma picking and choosing her shots early - not the wisest move given how her opponent might blow her off her feet at a moment’s notice, but Watson stays at a good distance and avoids the sudden, lunging rights or lefts aimed at her face, with Sarah also sporadically leaping forward and hoping to end the fight with a connecting hook to the younger girl’s cheek. But Emma’s too focused for that, the former Flyweight champ weaving out of the way of Sarah’s attacks, then sticking her own gloves right into Sarah’s vision in order to blunt the assault further. Shahi does manage to dictate the round largely with her over-aggression, though we wonder how long the 40 year old can keep up the pace when Emma’s slowly whittling at her.

ROUND 4:
Still a while more, it seems, as Sarah crunches a cross right into the sternum, almost folding Emma over in two and sending her down to her knees. Watson got careless back there, blocking most of the jabs to her face but not to her vulnerable paunch, and Sarah managed to wade in close enough to dip her shoulders and plow one through! OUCH. Emma shocked and gasping for air, stumbling back as she throws her guard back up, the punches keep on coming as Sarah goes all out to bully the younger Brit back, perhaps make a statement that she still has this boxing thing in the bag. But the last minute sees less success for the older gal, Shahi clearly slowing down as she chases Emma clear across the ring and back, hounding the head but Emma staving off disaster by sticking jabs back into her face whilst on the retreat.

ROUND 5:
Watson flies back into contention as she picks off a tired and gassed Sarah Shahi, who realistically was gonna have trouble keeping pace in the long-term with the younger woman. Sarah spends a good majority of the round blocking incoming fire, hands up over her face as Emma fires left and right combos into the arms, then rattling hooks across the guard for good measure, occasionally sinking leather into the aging body for good payback action. Emma pressing in with even more energy this time, knows she’s got a real shot at putting Shahi down for good before she has a chance to recover, but Sarah manages to hang on by skirting the perimeter of the ring, all the while taking occasional return swipes at Emma’s face to try and prevent a wipeout.

ROUND 6:
But Sarah looks absolutely smashed by this point of the fight, slow moves to get up from her stool in the corner and an even slower start to the middle. No such issues from Emma Watson, the Harry Potter starlet flying forward like she’s on a magical broomstick, booming shots into Shahi’s arms left and right and striking firm to her guard, the force of those impacts alone enough to throw Sarah backwards into full retreat! Shahi’s in trouble as her back hits the ropes, and she’s just too slow and spent to block all of Watson’s attacks, with Emma breaking her arms apart with another step-in swipe across the guard, then another hook screaming in as it SCORCHES Shahi across the face!! OUCH!! DOWN SHE GOES, Sarah collapsing onto her chest with a loud THUMP and stays still for the entire 10-count, mewing into her gloves and barely able to lift her head off the ground! Sarah reaches for the bottom rope to try and recover, but to no avail! It’s over in dramatic fashion!!

Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Sarah Shahi via KO6!

AFTER:
An ecstatic Emma Watson breaks into a smile as she throws up her hands in victory, saunters back to her corner, barely having broken a sweat in there during these six rounds. The former champ has definitely faced tougher challengers than tonight, but to hear her comment to reporters later on, this win brought its own brand of personal satisfaction:

“I mean, all kudos to Sarah. She didn’t have to accept this fight with me. She knew what she was getting herself into. This win was a personal victory for me after all those years of ups and downs, and I find myself where I am today because of all the blood, sweat and tears I’ve poured into my career. Sarah reminded me of my personal demons from the past, but how I’ve managed to overcome them. All respect to her and I wish her a happy retirement. Hopefully, permanent this time,” Emma says with a wink.

Emma heads over to Sarah’s corner in the immediate aftermath to check on her condition. Shahi appreciating the small gesture, taking Emma’s hand and allowing herself to get helped up to her feet, upon which the two ladies embrace briefly and wish each other the best of luck for the future.
