LUCY HALE VS KATHERINE MCNAMARA

Results: Lookout Writing: Archer

Lucy: 31 YO, 5’2 (1.57 m), 33-32-0, 33 KO since 2010, Pretty Little Punchers

Katherine: 24 YO, 5’4 (1.63 m), 9-5-0, 9 KO since 2017, Fates Boxing

Before: Katherine “Red Kat” McNamara is coming off a big win over PLP’s Danielle Campbell, now gets to square off against the Punchers Top Flyweight: Lucy Hale.

“Kat has earned a shot at me,” says Lucy, “ she’s beaten Emilia Clarke, Cheryl Cole, Natalie Lind, and then Dani C. True she lost a couple, but I want to see what the kid has got.”

“I am glad to know that Lucy is keeping up on my record. I know she’s had two solid wins coming into this: Megan Fox and Elizabeth Henstridge. I’ll have my work cut out for me, but I like a challenge. I am really ready for this!”

No ill-will between the fighters, but both Lucy and Katherine are determined to win. They come to the ring with Lucy in a sky blue top with tight black short shorts, sky blue gloves and boots with black laces. Hair pulled back in a short ponytail. Katherine in dark blue top with gray with swirling white pattern short shorts. Dark blue gloves and black boots. Auburn hair pulled back in a battle braid. Very professional ring instructions with both fighters paying attention. Quicj tap of the gloves. Return to corners. The bell sounds…

R1: Katherine and Lucy out of their corners and start circling. A few probing punches to get things off to a cautious start. Then Kat makes a bold move, swings for the midsection, Lucy hunches up instinctively, but POW! Katherine’s right connects with Lucy’s chin. Lucy goes stutter-stepping back and Kat using quick rights and lefts to the face and head, Lucy smacked up before she gets her gloves up. Katherine now moves to attack Lucy’s midsection and she’s got some strong hooks digging into Lucy’s ribs and abs. Lucy with her gloves up, firing out the jab to try to keep Kat at a distance. Kat working around Lucy’s jab to keep up the pressure on Lucy’s torso. Rounds ends and Katherine McNamara wins it wide.

R2: Lucy more aggressive this round as she uses rapid-fire rights and lefts to smack Katherine hard to the chin and jaw. Kat is not willing to concede the offense to Lucy, keeps trying to come in, but gets driven back with more lumps on her face. Lucy pressuring Katherine harder, driving her back onto her heels with a steady series of hooks to the belly. Kat trying to counter, but Lucy is now bobbing and weaving as comes in to make herself a harder target. Lucy finishing the round with three head bobbing uppercuts that leave Kat looking very shaking as she makes her way back to her corner. Lucy Hale winds round wide.

R3: More aggression from Lucy Hale. She is pressing Katherine in close as the round begins. Kat whacked hard in the rib cage and stomach, but then hooks striking up in Kat’s breast. Kat gets her rack thoroughly scrubbed by Lucy’s punches and she is not liking it. Katherine backing away behind her jab, but she can’t shake the determined Lucy. Lucy seems to be trying to get Kat on the ropes, but Katherine able to steer clear of the strands even as she is being worked over. Round ends in another Lucy Hale wide win.

R4: Again, Lucy is on the attack and Katherine keeps being thwarted every time she tries to counterattack. Lucy keeps Katherine from getting set and knocking her off balance again and again. Then Lucy finally succeeds in cutting off the ring and body punching Katherine into the ropes. Kat takes a seat on the strands as Lucy goes to work swabbing the redhead’s body from breast to belly and back again. Katherine shielding her head and face as she rides out the storm. Only a few counters from Kat this round, but she braes herself using the ropes to avoid being knocked down. Kat can’t hide the relief on her face when bell rings to end her ordeal. Lucy Hale wins her third straight round wide.

R5: Lucy goes right back at Katherine, but this time Kat is ready for her. Katherine launches slashing rights and lefts to the jaw that brings Lucy to a stunned halt. Kat then attacks to the body, but Lucy snaps out her daze and counters with body punching on her own. Fierce exchange in close as Kat and Lucy grind their gloves into each other’s straining bodies. Katherine able to brace her feet to get extra leverage into her hooks. Lucy driven up onto her tiptoes and slowly falling back. Hard action that has sweat pouring off the petite bodies as they struggle down to the bell. At the bell, they step back and regard each other sternly, then march to their corners. Judges give to Katherine McNamara by a narrow margin.

R6: Katherine now attacking and once again she opens with whacking rights and lefts to Lucy’s head. This time, though, she further rattles Lucy with left/right uppercuts to the chin. Lucy on rubbery legs as she stumbles back and tries to block Kat with her jab. Katherine swinging around Lucy to attack her from the flank, then moves back to pound hooks into the brunette veteran’s belly. Lucy doubled up and just trying to survive as Katherine bounces rights and lefts off the top of Lucy’s head. Lucy being pushed back to the ropes, though she does make a stand with her jab that thwarts Katherine. The bell rings. Katherine wins the round wide. Lucy looking glassy-eyed as she makes her way back to her corner.

R7: Katherine again moves out. Lucy moving slowly, gloves up around her head and hunching up defensively. Katherine sizes the situation and goes in with big, heavy hooks to the body despite the hunching up. Lucy shaken as these blows slam home. Lucy staggering back as Katherine increases the volume of her punching. Lucy groaning and gurgling now. Her high guard weakens and Kat now attacks with uppercuts to the chin. One,,.Two…Three…the uppercuts make Lucy’s head bob up and down. Then a Fourth…! LUCY HALE SAGS FORWARD AND SPRAWLS ONTO HER FACE! Katherine heads for the neutral corner as the referee steps forward to start counting.

Lucy is struggling to rise as the referee counts slowly, but steady. Lucy on all fours, struggling to get erect. She reaches her knees and tries to stand, but, no! Lucy falls back to all fours. She tries again, but---

“NINE!...TEN!...YOU…ARE…OUT!”

Lucy almost breaks the count, but topples again to all fours. It is over!
THE WINNER KATHERINE MCNAMARA DEFEATS LUCY HALE KO7!

After: “Oh, oh, OH! I did it! I did it! I knocked out Lucy Hale!” Katherine gasps out in delighted disbelief. “Wow! Just wow! That was amazing!”

Lucy Hale much less talkative as she is helped from the ring: “She’s the Real Deal. She is…” Lucy mutters to reporters as she is led passed them.

Impressive win for Katherine McNamara especially as a follow up to her win over Danielle Campbell. Of course, there were those losses to Jessica Lowndes and Avril Lavigne, but it would appear “Red Kat” is reaching Serious Contender at Flyweight level. Future fights will definitely be “must watch” bouts now. Disappointment for Lucy Hale, of course, but Lucy has seemed to bounce back from setbacks and we think this defeat will be followed by similar return to victory. In the meantime, FCBA Flyweight fans can savor this hard fought battle until Lucy Hale and Katherine McNamara return to the ring.
