Alexis Ren vs Anllela Sagra (Lightweight Title) (Results: Lookout!, Words: Caspian)

Alexis:
(23, 5’8, 40:9 FCBA, VIXENs)

Anllela:
(26, 5’9, 16:8 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
A third installment in the war between these two ladies as champion Alexis Ren hopes to win this rubber match against challenger Anllela Sagra. These two have fought twice now with Ren falling to Sagra’s power way back in 2017 and then taking the title of Queen of the Ice Hotel from her in 2019. Since then, they’ve avoided each other inside and out of the ring, and with good reason:

“I’ve said it before: Ren’s nothing but a stick figure, a piece of straw with just a pretty face on a stick that’s begging to be punched. I have NO idea how she managed to become Lightweight champ, but I’m here to steal the title away from her just like how she did to me,” Sagra says first in her heavy Colombian accent. “It’s of course sad that Holloway closed its doors just before I win this title, but I’ve been working hard in the gym these past few months and I’m ready to get my revenge, stable or no stable.”

Anllela’s certainly looking ripped and ready as always, and rumours already abound at the quick pickup of her contract by another stable once the paperwork on her release from Holloway was finalised. When asked to comment on her move to another home, Sagra smiles and says, “You’ll have to wait and see. But a woman like me is always in high demand.”

Ren of course is being her usual indifferent self from the other end of the table, chewing bubble gum, blowing loose strands of blonde hair from her face and generally being restless in her seat.

“All brawn and no brain over there’s the reason why Holloway shut its doors,” Ren fires back into the mic. “Sagra’s on a what, four-fight losing streak? She’s faced Missy, Emily and Taylor in the past few months, and found herself flat on her back four times out of four, while I’m the one who’s managed to beat those girls blindfolded. So there’s no question in my mind as to who’s going to walk away victorious tonight.”

Tense staredown at the podium as the taller and more muscular Anllela flexes her guns, body rippling with power as she stares the champion down as though this were an ironwoman contest on stage. If Ren’s intimidated though, she ain’t showing it, her own lean body wrapped in a black bikini with blonde hair braided into dual pigtails as she sets the challenger with a mean glare of her own. Anllela makes another snarky comment, which draws a frown from Ren, but the usually explosive girl doesn’t make any first moves tonight, perhaps out of fear her opponent might get the better of her in a street brawl, especially when Sagra has proven to be a danger to her in the past.

Hours later, both women are in the ring, Ren in her same outfit from before as she tightens red and white gloves over both fists and receives some last minute advice from trainer Steve Boyd in her corner. At the other end of the ring, Sagra’s wearing a loose grey tank top that’s cut a little too early, hints of underboob drawing wolf whistles from the crowd. And for bottoms, she’s wearing a pair of hot denim shorts as she bashes white gloves together to round out the provocative look. Referee calls this Lightweight title fight to order with a wave of his hand - no touch of gloves from either fighter, and HERE we go with ten rounds of Lightweight action!

ROUND 1:
Anllela sets upon Alexis like a wild animal hungry for both payback and the chance of striking gold as the Colombian fitness goddess rushes forward at the opening bell and immediately bashes punches into the champion’s arms. Ren still having trouble dealing with her opponent’s power differential, following her last strategy of taking it as it comes and trying to weather the early storm before finding openings late in the round to poke back at the bigger girl’s face. No point gouging her fists on those abs of Sagra’s, as it’s going to take more than a few prods to take the fit and ripped woman down. Sagra dominates the action as a result, throwing Ren back a couple of paces each time she gets her hands on the leaner girl, then tosses her upper torso left and right with swings to the guard and driving her back with clean shots to the middle of her stomach. Ren emerges out of this first round already looking frazzled and worn, but at least she’s prevented an all-out rout.

ROUND 2:
Ren kicks the action off with signature energy, finally showing Sagra what she’s capable of: fast movements left and right combined with slips of the head to the side to avoid most of what the challenger is throwing at her. Anllela has a look of shock and awe on her face as her punches whizz past harmlessly compared to last round, before she gets rattled by quick counter-strikes from Ren, who uses her agility to tag her repeatedly on the face. Suddenly this match-up makes sense on paper, with the difference in styles between the two girls making for an excellent display of competitiveness. Sagra falls back into a defensive pattern, letting out grunts of outrage as she covers up from more incoming damage but as a result has her chiselled abs beaten on when Ren decides to go south with more her straight combos. Better early than never, according to the Vixen, who has a satisfied smirk on her face as the bell rings and Sagra is heard cursing in Spanish on her way back to the corner.

ROUND 3:
More hit-and-run tactics from the champ, who pushes herself for another round of dominant action as she laser-focuses in on Anllela’s lumbering attacks to avoid. Sagra needs to develop a fresh strategy of dealing with the slippery woman, and she realises this only after another minute of getting battered to the body, her stomach absorbing shots like a punching bag as Alexis exploits those holes in her guard. Second half of the round, however, sees Anllela recover when a soaring cross-hand slams into Ren’s hasty guard outta nowhere, the challenger showing some quick-thinking of her own as she stuns the champ long enough to hone in a couple more gloves stuffed into Ren’s lips before the Vixen decides enough’s enough and circles back out of range. Rest of the round sees a return to stalemate action, with both women trading stiff jabs to the arms till the bell.

ROUND 4:
Sagra’s relying less on her power here and more on her streetsmarts - definitely a good turn of mind when dealing with the unpredictable and faster Ren, who suddenly has little answer to this monster of a woman returning fire at her from afar in mutually assured destruction. Of course, Anllela wins this exchange, her one-inch height advantage translating into a natural shoulder-length edge as she stuns Ren on the face multiple times whilst taking fewer return shots to her own. Ren’s in trouble if she maintains this deadly dance, her face already turned red from the constant stream of abuse. The Vixen opts to stay away from her foe for now, skirting the perimeter of the ropes and hoping to tire Sagra out in a wild goose chase. The challenger, however, doesn’t take the bait, content with her slight lead as she jabs at the retreating champ to the bell.

ROUND 5:
So far, so good. Sagra resumes her crowding action, confident movements forward as she sees Ren skittering about like a headless chicken. This bodes well for her - an indication she’s in control of this fight with her opponent not knowing what the hell to do in order to effectively counter her power. Ren’s caught by another jab-straight combo to the arms, the second punch soaring past her arms and slamming hard into her nose. Ren offers a gurgle and moves backwards to cover up. This time, Sagra opts to barrel in and strike whilst the iron’s hot, smashing another double-hook combo into the Vixen’s arms and hoping to break her guard here and score the upset. Ren in trouble, scrambling for distance, groaning as Anllela switches targets to her vulnerable midsection as she drives back the champion back into the ropes, elbows dipped in close as she thumps away at the blonde’s belly, Ren getting folding over as her body jerks about like a marionette. Ren lets out another cry as her kidney takes a shot, and suddenly, her arms and legs falter - Sagra WHIPS her face to one side and REN GOES TWISTING DOWN TO THE GROUND! Good lord - an early KNOCKDOWN for the challenger as Sagra scores first blood!!

The stadium roars at the prospect of a change of hands of the title tonight, as Sagra herself pumps her fists in the air and parades that pristine body back to her corner. The Colombian fighter’s been hella dominant in this division ever since her debut all those years ago, then signing onto Holloway Boxing, only having faced recent troubles in her career against members of elite competition. But from the way she’s strutting about Alexis’ prone form, it’s quite clear that there’s always been one girl in her mind that she can beat. Ren choking on all fours before slowly pushing herself up by the elbows, clutching at the top rope as she pulls herself up to her feet by the count of 8. There’s a painful scowl on her face as she sets Sagra with a furrowed brow. But for now, she lives to fight another round, though she can’t afford to go down again like that.

ROUND 6:
As expected, Sagra charges at the champ at the opening of the sixth, confident she can end this fight before it goes the distance. Ren for the most part deals with the aggression well, arms locked over her head as she takes a couple of hard knocks to her sides but generally manages to stay away. A wild hook is ducked under with surprising ease, with Ren then weaving to the right to avoid another uppercut designed to knock her lights out. Sagra swinging haphazardly by the minute, perhaps frustrated that her earlier knockdown has had little effect on Ren’s fighting prowess here. Third minute and the Vixen actually gives her challenger a taste of her own bitter medicine: a step-in shot to her lips makes Sagra recoil in pain, before another series of blows to her nose and chin has her seeing stars. Only thing that prevents Ren from stalking in to finish Sagra off is her wild and erratic flailing, usually in her direction in a bid to keep Ren away, and the last minute sees Alexis making up for lost time, aiming more straight combos hard into the Colombian model’s body on the ropes.

ROUND 7:
Sagra’s clearly slowing down and that’s not a good sign, especially against Ren’s incredible stamina and agility. The challenger tries to impose herself in the first minute, rushing at Alexis and doing her best to overpower her with nasty swings towards the head. But Ren either blocks or avoids them completely, easily slipping under or away from danger before snapping her own uppercuts into the Colombian’s gut or chin, then scooting away out of range. Sagra’s being withered down three times in this manner, gets her head again sent sharply skywards in the third, this time stepping back in a wobbly manner. Ren cautiously moving in for the kill, more jab combos landing without trouble on Sagra’s face as she pushes the bigger woman into the ropes. Sagra groaning as her body is used for target practice, Ren pouring in punches to her stomach, chest and chin as she rocks the would-be challenger silly! Referee’s hovering nearby, watching the massacre unfurl, but Anllela’s arms are still up and desperately trying to cover herself, meaning he can’t or doesn’t want to step in too early to end this fight. But Ren delivers a final throbbing hook to the taller woman’s face, with Sagra left catching her flush on the cheek rolling to the side before this whole thing comes crashing DOWN to her side!! OUCH!! A painful way to go indeed but thankfully, the abuse doesn’t have to continue - Sagra’s left motionless on her face, barely pawing her gloves on the bottom rope as the referee counts her out to ten!! IT’S OVER!!

Official Decision: Alexis Ren defeats Anllela Sagra via KO7! Alexis Ren is STILL the Lightweight champion!

AFTER:
Alexis Ren pulls off another win as she edges out a rival and pushes herself further into a worthy championship run! The Vixen roars, leaps onto the second turnbuckle, crossing her arms high into the air, chest heaving from one of the more intense fights of her career.

Sagra left rolling about by the ropes, body sore and bruised from the punishment as her team officials quickly crowd around to make sure she’s okay. Not the best fight to follow an already abrupt departure from her old stable, but this loss surely throws a spanner into the works of any prospective stables who were eager to sign a potential champion to their ranks.

Ren not done with making her statement post-fight though, scattering the medical staff and quickly dragging the defeated Colombian goddess by her hair back to her corner of the ring. Anllela’s left powerless and cursing in Spanish, before being helped to her feet by the grinning blonde. Still, Sagra’s groaning into her arms as Ren pulls her head back over the turnbuckle and buries more fists into her aching belly. Sagra’s attempts at defiance are silenced further with backhand slaps across the face and chest landing, propped up each time by a knee lift to the thigh whenever the ex-Holloway starlet sags back down the cold metal corner.

“Not so tough now, are ya??” Ren hisses into the back of her hair as Sagra wilts in her arms.

Moments later, the Vixen finally allows the defeated girl to slink down to the canvas, where she curls into a ball and waits for medics to tend to her. Ren continues to dominate the division, but rumours are already swirling of another potential challenger who can finally topple her off her throne.
