Kira Kosarin: 23 years old, 5’8”, 27-11 since 2016, Bonzo’s Gym

Kira Kosarin and Elizabeth Olsen have both suffered crushing title fight defeats at the hands of ambitious young rival Bella Thorne.

For Kira, her last-minute knockout loss to Bella in her second title defense was a shock on all fronts. She had just climbed the division‘s throne with a solid victory over her former stablemate Evangeline Lilly, reaching that echelon after three scathing disappointments in title fights. She was ready to become the division‘s most dominant factor. Beating Bella – who Kira had beaten in their first encounter, then got her butt kicked in a title bout the year after – was inevitable for her, a loss: unthinkable. Of course, bantam‘s just full of hot, beautiful young stars, all of them confident of being the best in town. But Kira had worked hard – she thought she had gained an edge in power and athleticism, and she intended to dominate Bella. She did, for a good while, but Bella came back, threw a hammer and relieved the Bonzo starlet of her just-earned title in rude, untimely fashion.

With Bella still on her mind, what awaits Liz Olsen when she‘ll meet Kira in the ring?

“This ain‘t about Lizzie,“ Kira affirms. “Sure, she‘s a dangerous fighter – I know she‘s super fast, throws a lotta punches. But really, bantam‘s only about me and Bella. We‘re the best. She‘s got the upper hand right now, yeah – but I‘m a-comin‘ for her. Won‘t matter who‘s opposite me in the ring tonight – girl‘s going to have to take a beatin‘. Have fun, Lizzie – you‘ll be takin‘ a nap at my pleasure anyway.“

“Okay, folks, wait for it...I'll say it out loud – Kira‘s the most overrated kid in boxing,“ Elizabeth shrugs. “She‘s rude, shameless – a total bully. But you know the thing about bullies, right? They look tuff and strong for a while, until the good girl comes along and kicks her ass in front of everybody watching! I‘m the good girl, guys. Oh, and Kira, just to make sure – I want you to be a meek lil‘ lamb when I‘m done with you! I‘ll have to give you a good spankin‘, if you‘re not being a gracious loser...“

Elizabeth Olsen‘s stormed the ranks of bantamweight these last couple years. Everything was ready for a triumph and her first title after eight years in the FCBA – but of course Bella Thorne broke her dreams, too.

“Yeah, we‘ll just have to admit that Bella‘s the best right now,“ Liz nods. “I mean, obviously, she‘s miles better than Kira The Kid. But I made her sweat – Kira just walked into her right hand...oops.“

“You know, you‘re makin‘ things worse, right, Lizzie?“, Kira hisses. “Before, you were just takin‘ a good ole‘ beating. But now, my fists will just have to riot on that cute face, damn.“

Round 1:

Kira starting off the exact way you know Bonzo’s Gym drew up the game plan – abusing her reach advantage as she has an extra three inches in height over Elizabeth, and while Lizzie isn’t unfamiliar with fighting with a reach disadvantage, Kosarin’s placing her blows well, tagging the Avenger’s chin. Lizzie backs off, not wanting to give Kira shots early on, and the two girls start circling each other. Olsen darts forward, faking right before digging a left into Kosarin’s body and retreating, but Kira just has too much range and nails Lizzie in her mouth. Olsen covering up as Kosarin advances, digging rights and lefts into the actress’ ribs, but she works in just a bit too close as Olsen drives a short right into the younger girl’s mouth. Kosarin drops back having learned her lesson, and starts bombing away from range on Olsen again. Elizabeth takes the blows to her guard and body, but doesn’t make a sudden move to try and go after Kira, but also limits the damage from Kira by blocking most of her blows. The bell rings and the opening frame goes to Kosarin, wide.

Round 2:

Kira sticking with the game plan to start the second as she again fights from range, keeping Elizabeth at bay with sharp, judicious placed jabs that keep the distance between the two girls, but she doesn’t hit Elizabeth with her blows. Olsen dips right and draws a left from Kosarin, but it bounces off of Lizzie’s gloves and the Avenger drives two quick rights into Kira’s mouth and the young actress has to drop back and get her guard up. Olsen now in pursuit, the bigger actress covering up her body as Lizzie works her into the ropes with solid rights and lefts into the brunette’s body, keeping the distance between the two girls such that Kira’s arms are jammed up when she does try to strike. Olsen keeps up the steady rhythm as Kosarin’s in the ropes, but the strong young girl hammers Lizzie back with two rights and the Fates girl backs off before Kira can land any more. The two girls circle each other, with Kosarin returning to her jabs and actually landing some as Olsen has some difficulty returning fire as the bell rings. Olsen comes back and takes the second, wide.

Round 3:

The fight starts to open up as Olsen gets into the groove of a hit and run offense, tagging Kosarin with punches to the torso and retreating before Kira can land a response. Lizzie quickly moving around the ring, avoiding Kira’s blows and the Avenger darts in with a right body shot and following up with a left cross, but this time Kira lands the predictive right in response and forces Liz backwards. Kosarin quickly advances and sticks a left into Olsen’s jaw and the Avenger backpedals furiously. Kosarin back to bombing away from range as Olsen has to cover up, blocking Kira’s blows. Kosarin steps forward and digs rights and lefts around Olsen’s guard. Kosarin getting good shots in but Olsen shoots out two straight rights that crash into Kira’s chin and the younger actress has to back off again. Both girls landing plenty of shots this round before the bell rings, and it’s a close one, but the veteran Olsen comes out ahead.

Round 4:

Lizzie staying her course as she moves around the ring quickly, ducking and dodging Kira’s blows as she works her way in and hits the younger girl’s body, working her around the ring for the first minute. Kira changes tact, stepping up and bullying Elizabeth with two big blows that split her guard and forces her to give up ground, and now Kosarin starts bombing away from range again and instantly forces another blow through Olsen’s guard, getting to the Avenger’s mouth. Lizzie’s forced to keep her guard up as Kosarin churns out the blows, crashing into Fates girl’s guard and working around guard and into her ribs, forcing the brunette actress into the ropes. Olsen gets the quick clinch and the referee separates the two brunette girls soon after. Olsen keeps her distance as the round comes to an end, and both girls return to their corners. Kira uses her size advantage to take the fourth on points, wide.

Round 5:

Kira charges out of her corner and instantly takes it to Elizabeth, landing big blows into the smaller girl and Olsen is just backpedaling around the ring. Kira pursues and launches two vicious punches into Lizzie’s body and the Avenger retreats, inviting a jab from her opponent. Kosarin’s blow whizzes by Olsen’s ear and the Fates girl smacks Kira with a right to the chin before driving a left into her torso. Kira lets out a slight groan as Elizabeth winds up for a healthy swing AND GETS HER HEAD SNAPPED BACK BY A LIGHTNING RIGHT FROM KOSARIN! Elizabeth staggers backwards and Kira plays target practice with her head for two blows that send the Avenger down! Olsen hits the canvas with an “oof” but is quick to pick up her head and eventually picks herself up at the count of eight. The referee checks in on the actress, who says something and the referee accepts the answer, and waves Kosarin back in. Kira bombing away from range again, but Elizabeth is staying well away from Kira and stays away until the bell. Kira goes back to her corner knowing that she took the round convincingly, and is firmly in driver’s seat as the fight heads towards its back half.

Round 6:

Kosarin quickly out of her corner and covers the ground between herself and Olsen with efficient steps and takes it to Olsen right from the get-go, using her extra size and strength to bully her back into the ropes early on and work her over. Kira digs in a right to Lizzie’s body but the Avenger stays her course and pops a right into Kira’s jaw, leaving her open to a left cross from the older actress that drives Kira backwards. Lizzie keeping the distance between the two girls close as she works on Kira’s body as the taller girl can’t get her arms to full extension until she takes two big steps backwards and shoots out a right that tags Olsen. Lizzie steps back and the two girls circle each other, with Kira landing more blows than her opponent thanks to her extra reach. The bell rings and the two girls go back to their corners. Kira again comes out ahead, but Lizzie shows more of a fight than she did in the fifth.

Round 7:

Kira firmly in control to start the seventh, and the Fates corner is looking nervous as Kira’s just driving rights and lefts into Elizabeth’s body, making Olsen wince as she protects her face and drops backwards. Kosarin confidently moves forwards, hitting Olsen’s body and working the Avenger over and Lizzie’s guard starts to drop as Kira focuses on her right flank, forcing the brunette to go to her left. Kosarin follows and throws a right hook that Olsen dodges before Lizzie plants her feet and digs a right of her own into Kira’s midriff and Kosarin winces. Olsen sees her opponent’s demeanor change and quickly goes at Kira with a right-left combo to the jaw that knocks Kosarin backwards. Lizzie moving her legs quickly as she tries to keep pace with the leggier girl. Kira grows the distance and wards off continuous pressure from Elizabeth with two well-placed rights, but she can’t stop Olsen from just burying rights into her torso before the bell. Lizzie Olsen turning the page in the seventh as she takes the round.

Round 8:

The wear n‘ tear of seven hard boxing round‘s clearly showing, as the two fighters slightly drop their pace, circling more catiously, staying behind their guards, slowly jabbing their way into range, trying to locate each other‘s heads/chests via short, thumping approach jabs. Early exchange: Kira‘s a-steppin‘ to with a snarl, closing the range via a long, rangy left body hook – Olsen takes a back-pedal, ducking the hard, hackin‘ follow-up right hand from Kosarin! Lizzie shifts her weight, feinting her right hand, getting Kira to flinch, step in to her right – where Olsen‘s ready to smack her via the lefty, staggering the young brunette hottie backwards! Kira‘s hurt, reeling onto her heels, her eyes betraying shock, wonder – and now Liz‘s just a-pouncin‘ on her! A short, quick churn of hard, straight left n‘ right hands, as Lizzie‘s letting her fists go rolling, landing ‘em like a whirlwind, rat-a-tat – and she‘s getting thru Kira‘s flimsy guard!

Kira FLASHED UP, just overwhelmed – she takes two solid, explosive left hands to her jaw, snapping her head back, as her arms flail out! Kira back-pedalling in hasty fashion, her legs a-trippin‘, eyes so fishy – she‘s meekly trying to get her fists back up to protect her face! Olsen staying tight n‘ compact in her pursuit – she‘s dippin‘, diggin‘ a strong left hand to Kira‘s ribs/tits, oomph, rocking her opponent, faltering her steps ropeward-bound! Short, right uppercut, Olsen! A wonderful combination shot, just calmly, cleanly pitched right off the left body hook – PASTING Kira Kosarin‘s face aside, smack! The tuff Bonzo brunette‘s rocked, as her strong legs just give way, take a slump beneath her – she‘s on a helpless, pirouetting swirl down to the canvas! Kira hitting the canvas with a familiar clonk! – her legs instantly sprawl out, elbows up on canvas, eyeslashes fluttering, just showing that blank, pasted out expression – oh no, she won‘t beat the count! It’s a monster knockdown for proud Lizzie Olsen who quickly gets out of the way – and the ref‘s counting Kira out!

Kira lifts her head off the canvas, murmuring, her legs stirrin‘ slowly – she‘s looking blankly up at her corner, finally dawning on her she needs to gets the heck up! Kira scramblin‘ those rickety legs, trying to rush to all fours, as the ref‘s already at seven, taking a grip at the ropes, just a few inches away from them – she‘s dimly fumbling for the ropes, reaching out desperately for them, as she‘s trying to get her legs under control in time, but we‘re already at ten! Kira‘s still on all fours, rolling onto her back again as her legs spasm, her energy all spent and gone – that‘s a thunderclap KO8 Elizabeth Olsen!

After:

Elizabeth Olsen raises her arms and heaves a sign of relief after her come-from-behind knockout against a tough, dangerous opponent who stopped her last time out. Meanwhile, the trainers and medical personnel are tending to a slugged out Kira Kosarin in the ring – the young actress‘s tenderly propped up to sit, her back leaning against the cables, her pretty eyes dumb-founded, lips parted, mumbling incoherently in confusion: “What‘s happened? What‘s happened? I had her – I had her on the ropes!“ Bonzo staff members walk Kira to her stool, gently tending to her, as the young, athletic beauty‘s strong legs are still swaying in rickety fashion, slowly regaining her senses.

A gracious, friendly Olsen checks in on Kosarin and gives her a warm hug before heading out to talk to the press:

“See? I told you the kid was overrated!“, Elizabeth smiles devilishly. “But look – Kira’s tough, she really is. But she‘s such a bully in and out of the ring, so it feels great to put her in her place, take her behind the woodshed a bit! She’s been a force in her five years in the FCBA, and she’s only 23, so she’ll be around for a long time. I look forward to meeting her in the ring again – Kira just gets the best out of me, and the worst for her!“ she smirks. “Obviously, getting a win over such a tough opponent right now after falling to Bella in the title fight sucks, but I hope I’ve shown that I belong in the top of the bantamweight division for good!”

For Kira, the loss plunges her into a crisis of sorts. After Bella Thorne, it‘s the second time in a row the young, sassy Bonzo starlet‘s been put on her butt by a smaller fighter she deemed inferior to her special brand of bantam bigness. Will this double whammy cause some soul-searching for the hungry brunette?

“No way,“ Kira attests, being her trademark cool, cocky self again, as she makes her to way to a brief post-fight statement to the press. “I‘ve got to give credit to Lizzie tonight, though. She fought really hard – and I‘m freakin‘ pissed she caught me there in the end. Got to give it to her – I had her early, but she worked her way back into the fight,“ Kira pauses. “You know, losing sucks. But I won‘t be kept down for long – I‘ll just have to look forward to ruining the next girl who steps into the ring with me!“
