TESS VALMORE

The October PPV featured 39 bouts. Three title were up for grabs. Lilly Collins managed to retain her flyweight title and Bella Thorne remained the bantam champ. Alexis Ren’s title reign finally came to an end at the hands of Taylor Hill, who brought another title to Front Street. Lawrence, the current welter champ, won a non title match.

Six of the eight top welters were in action. Two fought lightweights. None of the lightweights were in the top ten. Two of the welter fights involved top eight fighters and both produced upsets that are going to shake up the welter rankings. Hannah Ferguson upset Amanda Righetti and Karen Gillan upset Hilary Rhoda. Righetti was ranked at number one and Rhoda was ranked at three. Gillan was ranked at thirteen which is essentially in the cannon fodder category.

There was heavy action in the lightweights. Ren’s loss was a minor upset, but not unexpected She had a good run, but all title runs have to come to an end and this was the night for “the end” (cue The Doors) Adriana Lima certain threw her hat into the number one ring with her win over Taylor Swift. Dua Lipa also might get consideration. Peregrym and DiDonato both won, but both have been in title fights this year, DiDonato holding the title for a couple months. Ambrosio and Winstead have shaky records so far in 2020.

Bella Thorne has to look at Demi Rose for a title match. She lost a JMD match to Rose earlier this year. Evangeline Lilly might be considered. She took the bantam title from Bella in January. Elizabeth Olsen is probably out since she just lost a fight to Thorne. Scodelario is out there and don’t over look Naomi Scott who looks to be for real. She has already beaten two of Thorne’s stablemates.

In the flyweights for consideration for a title match, it is the usual suspects, Olivia Holt, Michelle Williams, Jessica Lowndes, Hayden Panettiere and Emma Watson. Don’t overlook Katherine McNamara who is coming along nicely and beat Vanessa Hudgens Friday.
